    Sounds about right. Nice. I know the whole net spend thing can annoy, but it's nice to think that maybe there's a stash of £10m or so which we haven't touched yet (ignoring any future exits, baker etc). Net spend is only annoying if people are using it to evaluate a manager in the transfer window. Nothing wrong with looking at it to gauge the level of interest the owner has in the team.

    One thing that I like about our dealings is that (apart from Adebayor) all our signings are joining a bigger club. No more signing castoffs from bigger sides who are bored from day one.

    Being the only one to score goals in pre-season isn't going to hurt, and he did score goals in the league before his injury at a pretty decent rate. He might not be that good, but his scoring record is good enough to make me look forward to seeing what he can do in his first proper season with us.

    Some are suggesting it'll be around 60 mill, which seems a lot, but half of that is Benteke money and there's more revenue coming in this season. Considering the danger of relegation, 60 sounds about right. Only about 30 gone so far, too!

    Barely been in the same league as us for 5 minutes, and made the great escape having spent the season condemned by everyone back to chumpionship football. Talk about blinkered. I can't bear to think that some team's football forum might be populated by a bunch of crackpots.
