What a player, his will to win is what we have missed for years .

FFS there ain't no agenda from 99% of the posters I have read, it's just opinions on a players strengths and weaknesses. Some of us see the same things while others don't, its what Villatalk is for, discussion. Ming's appears to be a great bloke and he's one of the best CB I have seen at villa (top 10) but he has weaknesses imo and they appear to be concentration based. Its maybe he's dehydrated or something like that that brings on these moments. If you don't see them then fair enough. I see his strengths and maybe these are the things posters who don't want to talk about his weaknesses should concentrate on, rather than claiming posters have agendas and trying to stem the discussion, its pathetic.

He has 7 years plus playing career, Gerrard will be gone in 3 seasons , he either gets us into Europe and then goes to lpool or doesn't and gets sacked.

Got a feeling We ain't seen the last of Jack in a villa shirt.

I don't need to convince anyone , its my opinion and I have convinced myself by watching our games, you should try it before you form yours, but hey ho, 'don't look up' ay .

Maybe Konsa should get more of the ball then. Ming's is the weaker of the two imo.

Its difficult for him with Konsa next to him who is generally 99% solid , in fact he's one of the best CB I have seen at Villa. Ming's is a great player ......but he has weaknesses in his game and its frustrating that they appear to be related to lapses in concentration......imho. As we get better the weaker players in our line up will be 'picked on' and those players will change as we upgrade the weaker players, Target, our players player of the year is an example, Smith is another one. Its brutal. Its not personal, some posters want to say it is when they don't agree with other posters criticisms. Lap it up and move on, just hope your right and the critical poster are wrong.

Struggled but a good performance to grind out a draw. Ref was dreadful , lost control of the game and allowed it to bubble up, not quite over but very close to it. Ming's, dear god he's committed but sometimes his head goes, late on he kept coming for headers and losing them, leaving us short at the back. Great result but we aren't playing very well , which beat playing well and losing.

Mings......You can see it in his game today, he looks distracted by something . Maybe it's Richarloson but he needs to concentrate more and stop being lethargic on the ball.

I like Gerrard and hope he does well.......Smith produced some of the greatest villa games I have seen in the last 10 years. I hope Gerrard can continue and improve the great work he did.

If we sign him my guess is Luiz will be benched. His contract situation doesn't help matters, we have to plan for life without him, the £20m we will get should help offset some of the rumoured £50m fee.

During the EUROs jack's appeal was huge, his potential as an English player was/is unparalleled, he could have gone on to Gazza type hype if he had stayed with us rather than join the plastic win everything machine. John McGinn should be kept unless the fee is well over £50m , if we let him go the message it sends to the other players is damaging, It's taken Coutinho to sign for us to start to repair the damage Jack doing one did .

It was jack's profile they wanted , he was attracting to much attention to us as a club. It would have started to attract new fans as he grew as a player. The media profile of a club is very important, we have replaced Jack with Courtinho on that front, it's not quite as good for our media profile but it may work out better on the pitch.

Looks a right handful, hopefully he will start to score soon, if he can get that in his game then he's one hell of a player. Good fit for Forest as well, hopefully he can help them compete for the playoffs, would love to see them back at the top .

He's doing ok but you can't say that performance was better than the away game at Manu in the premier with Smith at the helm, it wasn't. Unless your blind to football........ Now Gerrard has a plan to take us forward and I'm looking forward to it but let's stop trying to dismiss what Smith did within Gerrard first few games, let's give him time and judge then , if he can improve us as much as Smith did over his reign then we should be winning the league within 3 seasons , I would accept top 6. No matter how good or bad he plays his contract situation means he has to be sold this summer, it's abvious hes not going to re sign for us as thing stand.

We need more of these type players in our team, their will to succeed forces the emotion. Its what we miss imo, a few of these players driving the others in a Roy Keane style temperament.Wpuld love to see it in Ming's , Dougie and a few more as well.

Ollie for me as well, Ings can come on if Ollies injured or needs a rest.

Our attack looks lost tbh , not sure if it's playing Ings and Ollie together but whatever, it's very frustrating. We have some great possession in dangerous areas but then the options disappear as we approach the final third. The defense is still the same, looks a little shaky at times and doesn't look comfortable in possession, Ming's and Konsa/ Hause tend to linger on the ball looking for options , this needs to be cut out ..players need to show for the ball more once we have it at the back.
