  1. I'm not judging him as man, he's surely a great bloke but as a player he has to accept criticism, everyone in every walk of life makes mistakes and has to accept the consequences, one of those being critism. Let's not hide behind PC excuses.
  2. Interesting , would be nice to know what Ming's thoughts on it are.
  3. Its was a lack of concentration on what was happening with the ball that meant he never knew that ball was going to come in and where it was coming from , his poor position was the result of his lack of concentration.
  4. Mistakes are accepted, lapses in concentration are not acceptable when repeated. As for scapegoating , to a certain extent all criticism can be seen as scapegoating but I think we're past the point of that now. Would like to see some stats on these types of lapses and how much there costing us over last season and this, I can recall quite a few from our back 4, not so many from Konsa but the others , quite a few. We have a good defence but it needs to be improved to push on and that's where my critism is aimed, what we need to push on.
  5. Look if he had beat 3 players and slipped it into the corner then I can see your point, watch the goal again and tell me what Ming's was thinking. We're looking to improve and to challenge we can't afford players that switch off and cost us cheap goals. Cash did it as well. It's a reoccurring theme with certain players .
  6. I'm glad you said it, Ming's never jumped with Lukaku, he wasn't watching the ball, he was trying to wrestle with him. Martinez looked at him with open mouthed amazement. Free header for any premier League striker is going to be on target, Lukaku just happened to be good enough to beat Martinez. If a player makes a mistake then it has to be acknowledged , spoke about and rectified. There's no room for sentiment at this level. Ming's should have jumped for the fkn ball.
  7. He's work rate is extraordinary, never seen a striker press like he does, if we can get 10 players with that work rate and attitude then we would be top 4. Jack's a massive loss to Watkins , those two on form ran riot in certain games last season. Think it's affected his game more than anyone else I'm the team ( apart from Smith) If he was to leave......Liverpool would be my guess, Klopp loves him and described him as unplayable after a certain game last season. Be a sad day for us as players like Watkins are very hard to find.....and keep
  8. This all over. I have been surprised at the quality Young had brought us, it shows our squad up as lacking in the football brain department that's for sure. Gerrard has improved us in the middle of the park but glaring mistake at the back and wasted opportunities up front are happening time and time again, to improve this has to change and I can't see it with certain individuals, Ming's being the standout for me. Great captain and a good player to have ( sure he's a great bloke as well) but he's cost us time and time again. Sort of reminds me of Richard Dunne, great player but just not good enough 5% of the time.
  9. Who has said anything about challenging the top 4 this season? Gerrard has been here 5 minutes give the bloke a chance. You can argue with yourself
  10. You can't, take our game against Chelsea in September, we drew 1-1 after 90 min with a weak team. It didn't mean we was good enough then and we're not now. Who said top 4 this season, it wasn't me? I'm not judging him, so don't be so defensive, I'm pointing areas I think he needs to improve. Just like we all do, doesn't matter who's the manager is.
  11. You can't take games in isolation , as a whole we haven't changed. If we want to challenge the top 4 then we need improvement and I see it has certain error prone players need to be moved on. Watch the game against Chelsea again, the second half was terrible and they was off form. We gave them more of a game with a considerable weakened side in September.
  12. We need to improve in defence, Ming's is a great player for 89 minutes of most games but he loses concentration and if we're going to challenge we need players that don't give away cheap goals. Cash is still learning and I can give him the benefit of the doubt ATM. . Our creative side is also a disappointment, we have spent £100m+ on players who are either injured, don't suit us or are so inconsistent they can't be depended upon to improve us. We badly need a left sided winger. For me nothing has changed from Smith to Gerrard , we had a new manager bounce but the same issues are re-surfacing and I wouldn't have expected any difference. Gerrard needs time to stamp his mark on us and I don't think he can teach old dogs new tricks. Think is it's going to be expensive, I cant see any change from £100m. Maybe we could sell players to offset it but losing the likes of Ming's , Ings, Douglas .....is a risky business at this stage of the season.
  13. Let's not pretend Chelsea were in great form, they picked up draws against Wolves and Everton and narrow wins in their other games, Leeds and Watford, they lost against West Ham. It was our failures that ultimately cost us in this game and we wasn't weakened that much by injuries. We are a work in progress and on this showing are lower mid table.

    Matty Cash

All of our players need to learn to stay on their feet, Target and Cash both attempted sliding tackles in this game alone. Douglas has also been known to dive in but he appears to have cut this out of his game. Ming's also has to learn not to over comit . The Chelsea player went down easily as well, a trick we need to learn . Ings had a decent appeal that we just let go. We need to hoof the ball out and surround the ref and force a VAR decision.
  15. Yea 2nd half they did, our slow transition from attack to defense was exposed by it as well. He's a top manager and changed the game to counter our good 1st half showing. This is what the top managers can do. We saw it with England against Croatia in the Semi we lost and Italy in Final we lost. Hopefully when Gerrard is on the bench we can counter the changes made by the top managers with our own. This is what makes good managers great .
  16. You could argue the Chelsea defense was the difference, they made some great interceptions and blocks in the first half when we had half chances. The second we gave them a free header and a free run at goal bringing them down in the box when we should done it outside the area, niave .
  17. Ming's never jumped, not sure who let the cross come over but if you give Lukaku a free header then it's going to be on target . 3rd goal was from a similar situation that we had at least 3 times in the first half . Disappointed tbh as Chelsea wasn't at their best for large parts of the first half .
  18. Watkins is winning every ball that's played to him, Ramsey is tucked right in behind him and it's causing Chelsea , Reece-James , issues . Ings and Ollie interplay isn't quite there yet, we have carved Chelsea open a few times and just fell short with the final pass or some great blocks from em. We're are playing well against a good team, defense has been good apart from us going to ground in tackles , both Target and Cash have been guilty of it , Cash paying the price.

    Energy Bills

Yep, just stuck a solar panel on my campervan and I'm beginning to think the same way. The spoiler is storing the energy as batteries are either old tech and cheap or hi tech and expensive. 200ah of lipo cost about £600 from a Ali. Once I have some decent figures from the van solar I will post the results on here. The best way around it all, IMO, is insulation , I have a 1930's semi so wall wise I'm up against it but the best thing I have done ( other than roof insulation) is insulate between my ground floor joists. Great heat saving and noise reduction.
  20. I'm sure your right but what happens , in my experience. People go in with an illness that should be over within 5-7 days , they catch COVID and then either stay in hospital to recover or to isolate, they can't be discharged back into the general population with COVID, they become bed blockers. Or they get discharged and then have to go back in at the later stages of COVID ( most hospital patients are vulnerable people in the first instance)
  21. Where do you watch it, looking on the high seas and its not available?
  22. Looks that way. However the 10 years of NHS underfunding means it can't cope with the increase in patients so we all have to put our lives on hold while the NHS sorts the mess out on their reduced budgets.
  23. Lad I work with has COVID, we have worked in close proximity for about 3 days while he was coughing and sneezing . He took 2 lateral flow tests that came back negative but he was so ill Thursday he took a PCR test that came back positive Sunday. I have tested ever since and I'm negative with no symptoms. Lateral flow tests seem very hit and miss, we are both fully vaccinated.
  24. So the data from SA and London so far tells us..... Omicron spreads like wildfire but hospital admissions are still relatively low, looks like it's COVID's swan song and thank god for that.
  25. Forgot they even won one, means nothing to all but to a few people. Seems quite sad to see Jack playing a bit part to such a good team, they have some fantastic players that sort of make Jack seem ordinary when he was king of the castle here. I think his media profile has sort of stagnated as well which is surprising. I just hope he doesn't blow up and get in the press for the wrong reasons but I can sort of see it happening. He said he struggling to adjust to living in Manchester as well which isn't a good start. I wish him no malice.
