  1. the wii-u was launched in 2012 at £250 inthe uk for the basic version & £300 for the deluxe pack with 32gb storage & nintendoland game. This was more expensive at the time than the xbox 360 slim (£150 for 4gb & £200 for 250gb with 2 games) & ps3 super slim (£185/250 for 12/500gb) so can't help but feel that the price coupled with a miniscule selection of games available at release was a major issue when going up against well established consoles with hundreds/thousands of games already available. They are going to be in the same position again this time around and i just can't see it working. Sure it's a novel idea i guess but there are quite literally hundreds of tablets starting at about £50 that will play games on the go, that is if people are even using a device other than their phone and as a home console it will be severely underpowered. you can buy an nvidia shield k1 tablet for £160.
  2. The problem is that it will not be cheap compared to anything else. Even if it launches at £250 which seems unlikely given that this is stil pretty much the rrp for the basic wii-u that is still generally more expensive than the current ps4 slim & xbox one s can be purchased for and those are already bundled with 1/2 games. By next year the RRP of both is likely to be under £200 and chances are that will still be a bunde of some sort. The same nintendo fans will buy it, the same mario/zelda games will eventually get released and every third party developer will dump it as soon as they see pre-order numbers/1st week sales of their first game.
  3. Yep Fox showed it at 2.30am in the UK. 30 mins after the US broadcast started but it seems that this was a one-off for the first episode though as it is now back to monday evenings for the rest of the season
  4. Will only be after the game aswell as/instead of highlights. Will not be live streaming
  5. apparently battery life on the devkits is an absolute maximum of 3 hours
  6. It's weird, It looks too big & too small at the same time :/ With the controllers on the sides it looks far too wide like a weird atari lynx with massive screen but take the controllers off the side and the screen itself doesn't look much bigger than some phones. The controller dock thing just looks strange, with one controller right way up and the other upside down on the other side and they look far too small for any reasonably sized person to use as a controller on their own when removed from the dock.
  7. Sorry but not sure how a dental check is unethical/intrusive. Open your mouth, ok no wisdom teeth on you go.... If the deal is to bring in kids you would expect some sort of check/verification on those that look like they are in their 40's but apparently asking someone to verify their age now makes you a racist
  8. Didn't think it was possible for our midfield to get any worse, Apparently Steve Bruce disagrees. Jedinak & Gardner? It's like we are having a twice weekly who's the shittiest competion
  9. Better quality image if you want to see more details. Click imgur link below for full-size 5400 x 1578 pic http://i.imgur.com/rbFGQv8.jpg
  10. Goliath, If you like Billy Bob Thornton watch it, If not then watch it anyway & there's only 8 episodes (amazon prime original show) Basic premise is Washed up drunk lawyer takes on a case against huge weapons company represented by the giant law firm he helped set up. It's all a bit unbelievable but it's very well cast, moves along at a good pace and for the most part is very enjoyable.
  11. new update should be out today adding a few fixes & graphical additions including new premier league overlays Addressed the following in gameplay: A situation where cancel was unresponsive after requesting a clearance. A rare situation where the penalty shootout should have ended earlier. Increased the CPU AI tendency to attack directly. An issue where players sometimes overrun the ball after a skill move. Increased the chance of error from ground crosses (triple tap). Improvements to ball physics where shots off the goal posts lose too much speed. Goalkeeper positioning for corner kicks. Improvements made to player switching from corners and free kicks. An issue where the player would control the ball instead of attempting a clearance. Improvements to contested headers logic from corner kicks. General fixes for player controlled celebrations. Cut scene for contentious fouls can now be skipped. Improved the general responsiveness of shooting. Minor improvement to passing responsiveness when the ball is in the air. In Pro Clubs, we: Increased experience required for the higher overall ratings in Pro Clubs. * Addressed an issue where a player's customised facial features did not display properly in game. In Ultimate Team: FUT Single Player difficulty no longer defaults to your CPU setting. Addressed an issue where the player is forced to substitute an injured player in FUT online matches. Corrected the shooting and crossing text in custom tactics In Career mode, we: Addressed a situation where the CPU AI would frequently leave star players on the bench. Visual changes include: Added new components of the 2016/17 Premier League broadcast package. Updated team kits, banners and flags for Velez Sarsfield and Tigre. The goalkeeper now correctly celebrates after catching the final penalty in a shootout. Addressed an issue where the selected kit isn't the one used in-game. Addressed frame-rate issue during pre-match skill game. Addressed an issue where the fog from a player's breath was detached from their position. General overlay fixes. *As a result of the change to Pro Clubs, some of you may find you're a lower OVR than before the update. This is intentional and you haven't lost any of your progress. Thanks to those who've provided constructive feedback on Twitter, Facebook, and the EA Forums. Throughout the course of the FIFA 17 season we'll provide you with more information and updates if and when they become available. https://fifaforums.easports.com/en/discussion/191937/fifa-17-title-update-1
  12. I am predicting that i will have turned off the radio before the end of the game, probably before half time.
  13. No worries, They are good cameras for the money but most people just seem to use their phones now. If you are not in any real rush for it i would suggest hanging on for a month so see if there are any black friday deals. Amazon will be doing all week/weekend along with most other retaillers on/around Nov 25th and you may get lucky with a price drop on this or maybe one of the £300-400 4k cameras will get slashed in price (They had some of the canon vixia hfr600 cameras last year for under £150 that were usually on sale for about £275
  14. If you just want 1080p for under £200 a Sony HDR-CX405 (£199 on amazon) is probably your best bet If you are ok with a lower bitrate for the video (not so good quality but should be fine for youtube etc) then the slightly older model HDR CX240 is available from argos for £129.99 (item 166/5956) If going for the CX405 you will need to grab a micro sdxc card to use the 50Mbps higher quality video
  15. Contrary to popular belief There is no obligation to honour pricing errors whether instore or online but the contract online doesn't properly start until the goods are shipped so they will just cancel it. Same as instore the retailler can just refuse to sell it at the wrong price, withdraw it from sale and correct the pricing error. People will shout and scream about knowing their rights & trading standards but they are wrong.
  16. similar thoughts here, the multiplayer maps just aren't really doing it for me. Had some good matches but they drag on a little long, (one was 41 minutes and the shortest seems to have been about 27) Many of the probems from the beta don't seem to gave been fixed, horses are still pretty much indestructable at times and the preson riding them will insta kill you from 10m away and ranking up classes seems to take forever with no real clear way of knowing if what you are doing (supplying ammo, using mortars as support etc) is actually adding the the rank progress or if it is just a matter of hours spent playing. the prologue is great but not really sure that controlling a tank in the very first single player mission is the best introduction to the game, especially if you play on hard as there are a few places you can get stuck, not even see the enemt tanks and die very quickly, the 2nd part of the mission gets better though
  17. Apparently you can actually plug the hdmi into anything rather than just the ps4 and it will trigger the cinematic mode allowing you to watch movies, play your xbox one etc on the seemingly giant floating screen in front of you. Obviously you do not get the full VR experience but it is something different i guess if you're bored of the games/tech demos or need a lie down after drive club makes you vomit
  18. Until they can make it wireless it will never take off. The sheer amount of pissing around to get it running is an instant turn off. Things like the samsung gear VR work because they are simple, no wires everywhere, no extra cameras & controllers needed etc. This will be dead before next christmas That's intense! Just so we're clear, here's what cables you'll have in your gaming space with PSVR hooked up: All of the cables required for a PS4 to work normally. The cable to connect the PlayStation Camera to the PS4, which you may or may not already have anyway. An additional HDMI cable just for PSVR. A USB cable to connect the separate PSVR processor box to the PS4. An AC adapter to connect the PSVR processor box to a wall outlet, meaning you now need two wall outlets for PSVR. The cable that connects the headset itself to the processor box. Of course, that's all in addition to other devices you have hooked up underneath your TV. If the situation in that image looks cumbersome in a desolate white void, imagine how it'll work in the average living room. http://uk.businessinsider.com/playstation-vr-ridiculous-cable-clutter-2016-10 http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/139016-sony-playstation-vr-exposed-what-you-get-in-the-psvr-box-and-what-you-still-need-to-buy
  19. EA Access 10 hour trial is active for xbox people
  20. As of right now we have 35 games left to play (this is only 3 less than an entire premier league season) To achieve promotion/play-offs we basically have to win 4 or 5 more games over the course of the entire season than Norwich/Huddersfield/Sheff Weds/Brighton/Newcastle can manage. We still have to play most of them twice so doing a double would potentially mean that we would only need to win 2 more games than these. There is a long, Long way to go yet. We just have to start winning games. Look at Leicester 18 months ago, On the 1st of april they were bottom of the league, 9 points behind even us. 8 games later they were 14th & finished 3 points better off than us despite the fact we actually managed to get 10 points along the way. 12 point swing in 8 games despite us actually doing ok. If we actually manage to get the "new manager bounce" & hit the ground running the gap could be pretty much wiped out before the end of November and with teams all playing 6/7 games in december even the big teams are going to be inconsistent & drop points
  21. No apologies needed, Just hope Bruce had the kind of relationship with him that could persuade him to move in Jan as he would make a massive difference to us
