  1. While I am in support of his come back and hope he makes it. I also would like to think if he is to make it, it's with the intention of more than what you said. Not to the extent of playing regular 90 mins or week in week out but you simply can't afford to have a player starting a game, expecting to only last the first half and likewise while in theory it is good, you can't have someone on the bench who is there just for a cool head in the dying moments of the game, it's a waste. At the very least having him around is going to be a great inspiration. I hope he makes it but I also hope there is some middle ground between playing every week and the role you've suggested. It's not the end of the world if he gets a contract but doesn't end up playing much, sometimes things don't quite work out and he will still bring something to the club.
  2. Not sure regarding Whispers but seem to remember most of the posts were reasonably clever using the information about but not itk at all. Was it not him that said about Sherwood's facials?
  3. Yes I think so. Although it's pretty obvious, Xia is a good 6'5'' and (s)he's a few inches above that and not in heels.
  4. Working till midnight, will be having a well deserevd couple of pints of Brooklyn Insulated when I finish.
  5. I imagine I could as well as my Mum was born in Ireland, I think all you need is a parent/grandparent to be Irish isn't it?
  6. I like him but he has no middle ground at times he looks like a world class defensive midfielder, other times he's useless. Unfortunately he falls on the useless side far too often. This goes for all our players but Di Matteo has got a hard job. Collectively we were awful last season which resulted most individually looking bad also but it is quite possible for some of those players to look like different ones, amongst a changed team and the breath of fresh air of a new manager and ownership. Not an easy task at all.
  7. Its the day before my Birthday and one of my best mates is a Brighton season ticket holder, so i'll defintely be down there. I don't think i'll get a ticket in the away end though as I think demand will be high, so I may just have to settle with the home end and best behaviour.
  8. I'd disagree as far as generic mass produced lagers I'd put it towards the top, certainly above Carlsberg. Especially if drinking in Amsterdam. Any lager at a football ground is going to taste crap though. Partly due to the plastic glass and partly down to it being an extra chill system. The colder lager is the less taste it has and there's not particularly much there to start with.
  9. That explains a lot, last time I went toBournemouth my car was broken into.
  10. Could quite easily be spin from Villa but on the other hand we supposedly didn't offer him the job, so Moyes might have realised he wasn't going to get it and avoided the publicity of being rejected and pulled out.
  11. It's about the price Tottenham were supposedly offered him wasn't it? Which was around the same time this would have been. Not that I believe it but the price is the believable bit to an extent. Although the price increase from what Tottenhan were possibly offered to what Man Utd paid is a pretty extraordinary increase. Even with the way selling clubs manage to get a few extra million from clubs with more money than most.
  12. I agree with what you said but I have seen similar first hand when in Amsterdam to watch England. With what started as a homeless guy getting thrown a bit of change, having a dance and enjoying is moment of attention, it quickly turned into coins being thrown at him rather than towards him. Although as you say there is nothing showing that anything like this is was happening.
  13. The price has nothing to do with it as long as it meets the clause. One club could bid £20m (they wouldn't) and another could bid £7m, both would meet the clause and Gana could choose between either. We would have no right to reject the £7m bid.
  14. I dunno but he's a fat bastard ain't he
  15. Which reminds me of the time the antique dealer from bargain hunt that looks a bit like Miss Piggy sat next to me on a train.
  16. Opening price? It is the price, you can't start a bidding war. If the clause is £7m, Villa can't reject a bid of £7m because someone has bid £10m. Therefore no one will bid more than the clause.
  17. Not really, some outlets will only go by the official word. Villa haven't announced it yet, so they aren't going to say it's confirmed before they announce it or at least a general press release. Pat Murphy seems to be getting the scoop first and the other reports yesterday were just going from Xia's weibo post.
  18. Not sure if posted already but just saw this that Wyness has retweeted.
  19. If you're in Birmingham/West Midlands I'm certainly concerned, I'm on my way up after I finish work. It's bound to be a nightmare on the motorway if there's heavy rain.
