  1. There's a few on Twitter, hearing things about a big signing. Would have thought any betting odds will have tumbled (if something set up with said player at bookies) and seems a few too many people knowing for no leak. So the bullshit radar is twitching, that said i hope it's true
  2. Yeah definitely a decent golfer, I think he tried to get on the tour when he retired but wasn't good enough.
  3. Not driving standards as such, but the last few months i've seen a lot more vehicles with only 1 headlight working. It seems people have just got lazy/careless.
  4. An oldie, but here's one of Roy trying to leave Wembley undercover, after another disappointing England result.
  5. Michael Fabricant seems to have been very vocal the last week or 2, more than I've ever seen him. Each time he says something equally cringe worthy. Seems like a tactical move to support Johnson, but I can't see why? Especially with the things he comes out with.
  6. What sort of party is it? Most hotels with function rooms will be allowed live music. Think you can hire The Mill, which would be a proper gig venue but might be too big? The Bierkeller The Victoria (already mentioned by Sidcow) Sunflower lounge maybe?
  7. I thought he played a massive part in allowing Everton back into the game. He let a lot of challenges go, that in most games would be called up as fouls. Great for Everton and the neutral but again its the inconsistencies. It can't be a foul one game and ok the next or even first half/second half. It is a contact sport and i don't mind if that's how referees want to play it, but it has to be the same for everyone in every game, all game. From a refs point of view it is tricky and a fine balancing act but the amount of yellows yesterday was because he lost control of the game a bit, in the aim of letting the game flow.
  8. On the subject of Laphroaig. I'm really enjoying the bottle i got for christmas. Whisky has never my thing but decided to start giving it a go again. From working in pubs and bars i always liked the smell of the peaty whiskies. So thought i'd suggest it when asked what i wanted. Its going down very well, will have to start thinking about what to try next.
  9. I don't remember it as i was about 4, but a flight from South Africa, we got upgraded to an empty first class and I got to go in the cockpit and hold the controls.
  10. That just triggered me to remember 081 811 8181.
  11. A bit nervous/rusty at the start & very clumsy for his yellow. Offers so much more going forward than Targett. More balanced and a better flow on left hand side.
  12. Just cracked open a Lagunitas IPA at half time. It was my gateway beer to US IPA's, but just doesn't cut it now. Not sure if its changed since being mass produced or just that beers have come a long way over the years.
  13. Would that not be down to less PCR tests now as you isolate after a lateral flow when symptomless? and not get a follow up PCR. No idea whether lateral flows are included in positive case numbers, i was presuming it is only PCR's
  14. Probably cursed it now but looks like, my body (vaccine assisted) has kept it at bay or i'd had it before without realising. Said previously but my kids have it, my wife was also feeling ill but no positive tests but tested positive the other day. My tests have all been negative. The kids only really had one day each where they were below par and a temperature thankfully. They are back to normal now, which is a test for my wife working from home.
  15. Fuming. Made the mistake of reading social media comments, fuming more.
  16. Never really liked him when we've played Everton but that's probably because he is a bit of a rat, gets the oppositions faces and in the refs ear, rather than how good he has been. We probably need a player like that on the field, he's the opposite of Targett who is so passive. I don't think he has been performing too well but that wouldn't put me off as that is in part down to Everton as a whole rather than him individually. I do think he has good attributes and would probably be better than Targett. Not my first choice, but would be an improvement, but enough for the cost? Who knows?
  17. We think the youngest got it at a birthday party last sunday, then her sister caught it off her, now she's feeling it worse today and has a high temperature. They aren't too far apart in symptoms (about a day) so may have caught it in the same place elsewhere. The eldest is asthmatic, so hopefully doesn't hit her too hard. She has needed her inhaler today. I tested negative again before work this morning.
  18. The girls are both a bit under the weather but not too bad, the youngest was in bed for a lot of the day though. I've took them for a PCR this evening, i thought the new rules about lateral flows had started but not until the 11th, so one of the schools said we needed a PCR. My Mrs has felt a bit crap for a few days but its not unusual this time of the month, but she thought she would be positive, but not so far anyway.
  19. Its finally reached our house. A text yesterday from our 4 year olds school to say someone in her class was positive. Did a lateral flow (her first which wasn't fun) and a positive for her, negative for us and her sister but her sister was positive this morning. Me and the Mrs negative again, will see what the tomorrow brings.
  20. I used to buy a couple of bottles for the train home when I'd done a late shift at work, it was 6.5%. I don't like grapefruit at all but did like that. I found in a can the grapefruit taste was stronger than in a bottle, so preferred a bottle. The new version is 5.1%, it misses the extra strength. They are doing or have done a 7.2% version, not tried that though if it's available.
  21. Had quite a lot of red wine over the last few days. A decent St Emilion and Amarone della Valpolicella. Really enjoyed this one from Aldi though and only about £7. Several bottles sunk. Beer wise, I've had quite a few different Verdant brewery IPA's, all very nice. Got one of these in the fridge too which I'm looking forward to trying. Never been a big Whisky drinker but suddenly got 3 bottles in the cupboard too. A mate bought me a bottle of Powers for my birthday, I got a Laphroaig for Christmas and was given a Highland Park Viking honour. All 3 have been opened.
  22. I've had it for nearly 3 years now in my right foot. Well, started to get it diagnosed pre Covid but moved house and changed doctors and not tried again yet. As a postie it's pretty relentless on my feet, can manage it OK most shifts. I can barely walk on it first thing out of bed then afternoon and evening it varies in severity. I think I actually have had it for years but only flared up after big shifts at work (not a postie but on my feet still) and went away the next day. Where as now 2 weeks rest doesn't even help.
  23. Davkaus when he discovers Ruge has also brought a Cucumber.
  24. Had the HonestBrew beer advent calendar this year, for a few different beers for Christmas, although have drank a couple on the day. Stuck a few bottles in the fridge today as they don't fit on my shelf. First one out and its only a bloody cider! Quite enjoyed it though, after the surprise. Also had the Brewdog Parma Violet one. It's never in stock when I got to Tesco but got one today. Enjoyed that one too.
  25. Kids are so hard to diagnose, our eldest periodically complained of tummy aches. Couldn't work it out, we considered anxiety, making it up to get out of something or attention seeking and obviously looked at what she was eating too. Went to GP and they went through the same things but did do a blood test. Turns out she is a Coeliac and her levels were off the scale. The youngest is always saying something on her hurts. I do think it's just a faze and nothing serious but still a pain trying to work out if it needs a bit more than "it'll be fine" or a little bit of compassion.
