I completely agree. The problem we may face is getting the team to give 100% over a short period is one thing. Sustaining that long term is a much more difficult task. I think teams that usually rely on players giving their all as a way of winning games tend to have a higher turnover of players to keep the motivation and work rate high. It'll be interesting to see the type of players that Tim brings in.

I noticed something about Delph's goal. Having watched it about 1000 times now once he passes the ball to Benteke he actually stops and then contiunes his run. It was like seeing the old fighting the new and the new won! Great goal.

The difficulty of that is making players buy into the idea that we are a big club because we certainly haven't bee acting like one for a long time. We really need Lerner to go and for new owners with fresh ideas and passion for the club to come in ASAP.

We can't really have one player earning £100K a week when every other player is on £60K per week or less. We also can't afford to pay players that kind of money when we don't have a oil rich owner and have an average attendance of around 32K. 5,000 Posts!!! We bloody well can when he is at least 40k a week better than the other players.

I still think Benteke is worth £20 million plus even with a year left on his deal so this Summer might not be when we have to sell. Saying that though there is obviously more risk of him walking on a free but I just don't see him doing that...... Offer him a massive deal this Summer!

Has Gil ever played high energy, quick, pressing football before? I'm pretty sure that Elche and Valencia don't play that way so I can see why he isn't playing at the moment. We only have to look at Sanchez to see that our other player coming in from La Liga wants too much time on the ball and it might just be that Gil isn't quite ready to press and play as quickly as Sherwood would like. Also I would add, in a relegation dogfight who are you going to rely on to start most games, experienced premier league players or an untested kid from Spain? If there is one place available to try out a youngster as well it deserves to be one of our youth products, especially when they have as much potential as Grealish, so he is probably just a victim of circumstance. Nothing to see here imo.

What a peculiar and sad thing to enjoy. There is an almost worryingly personal dislike there for what essentially was just a man doing his job poorly. No one has made me dislike watching the club I love as much as Paul Lambert. He may be the nicest bloke in the world but I dislike him a lot for that. He's gone though, chill your boots, he can't hurt you anymore.

Either way its going to be an interesting Summer. Benteke likes being the main man I think and he won't be at a top club with rotation policies and I also think he is too good for teams outside the top 4 like Spurs, Liverpool or other European clubs of similar ilk.

Apparently Vlaar and Okore are our only fit centre backs for the remainder of the season :| Didn't someone say Senderos was back but out of favor?

Our defensive injuries are definitely a concern but recently we've played multiple combinations of centrebacks and we've still won games and defended reasonably well. The issue of course will be if Vlaar or Okore go down.....
