  1. Our most impressive midfielder of our little mini run went off injured in the first half. Our goalkeeper, the world no. 1 in his position, went off at half time. We have guaranteed, mathematically with three games to go, 5th place for the first time since 1997. Maybe have some perspective?
  2. Eh, who exactly do you bring on? Yoiri went off. Kamara out injured, Ramsey out injured. Zaniolo out.
  3. Hey man, I didn't mean it like that. I meant anybody in a suit- it was sloppy wording and I will edit it. Also, I'm not British myself, I am Irish!
  4. Chelsea were so up for it. They looked like a team out to prove a point. Youri going off was a big moment. Emery has very few options with all the injuries.
  5. OMG, some of the comments in here! He is a bit out of form but he is a top player about to hit his prime.
  6. Great to see a common sense post. Sick to death of online villa communities bemoaning our lack of midfield, our inability to make subs and our somewhat more inconsistent demeanour in the second half of the season. We have been absolutely hammered with injuries - two more tonight - FFS
  7. Just this season. We had them until end of last season.
  8. We are down to the bare bones but came out with a point. When Tielemens went off and then Emi I feared the worst. I back this team 100%.
  9. Thanks mate, I appreciate you engaging with me on it. It's all well and good people saying new fans are more important than traditional fans but it is the traditional fans who are there when you are sitting 13th in the Championship and it doesn't sit well with me how things have been handled on the badge and the stadium. As of right now, for example, we can't be sure what the vision for Villa Park is at a time of growth for the club. It seems there is more premium seating on the way, presumably, in place of current GA seating. If Heck wants to start afresh he should do a comprehensive interview at the end of the season and no more flippant "Oh we're not doing that now" type comments about big item issues that impact the future of the club and the capacity for fans like me to attend games. Edit: I also would advise against throwing shade on Purslow's legacy. Purslow was hired in our third season ad a Championship club and undoubtedly left things better than he found them.
  10. If that was our badge it would be the best in the Premier league but the pale yellow on blue just melts into insignificance in that lineup.
  11. Yorke's Instagram is all Man United. Not a reference to the Villa, the club that made him.
  12. The genius of Emery is that he knew we needed a revolution at Aston Villa. He knew that to do that, and where others had failed, he had to lead the entire club and bring the fans with him.
  13. Very odd appointment. I had never really had him on my radar and I do like European football.
  14. We are almost guaranteed our best position since 1996-97 and could get fourth for thr first time since 1995-96. In with a shout for a trophy. I think he is a legend already. He has brought back days wr haven't had in almost 30 years.
  15. Beautiful, well done whoever designed this.
  16. Are they registered though? I hope you are right, it would be amazing.
  17. We are rewatching The People v OJ. Great series overall of course, the Versace one was also v good.
  18. If pushed, I would say Frasier.
  19. OK, let me go this far. He has been here 11 months and he has made some big calls and they have proved very divisive. Unai Emery has been transformative on the pitch. He has changed the culture of the club. He has taught us to be patient by reaching out and bringing us with him and we see the results. No more groans of 'get it forward' etc. Maybe Mr Heck could have done more to bring us with him instead of handling it the way he has.
  20. It's a culture war here. Some of us can see the badge issue has been a dogs dinner, the comms have been absolutely pathetic, and the drips and drabs on the future of Villa Park leave more questions than answeres while others have determined this man is a genius and mere villa fans couldn't possibly have a valid opinion compared to the confident American in a suit. We have been top 7 two years in a row, on an upward trajectory and in with a good chance of CL football. Of course we are getting better deals now than we were 2-3 years ago when we had emerged from a 3 year stint in the second tier, had survived a winding up order. And were trying to get established on the top flight. Demand better for this club. We are in our 150th year and lwe
  21. We play in claret and blue. We were the first team to play in claret and blue. Claret body and blue sleeves. Every now and then we vary it: 87-88, 93-95, 99-00, 18-19. Our crest has been a lion rampant, we had huge Scottish influence on our founding, and we play in claret and blue. Why should we rip up probably the elements key to our identity? We are the team that plays in claret and blue. That isn't clutching to the past, it is having some integrity about what we are and so diluting it that we could be any old club. Do other big clubs do this? Liverpool, Man U, Arsenal, etc?
  22. We used to know exactly what the plan was, now it's little hints dropped every now and then that leads to a pile of speculation about what's going on and who will be impacted.
