  1. One thing's clear. We have seriously ambitious people in charge. I honestly think all bets are off in terms of the expertise we have that's why I am talking in terms of redeveloping Witton Lane or doing some sort of deal on property land. This isn't Doug Ellis, this is something of an entirely different level.
  2. Good points. Thanks. Our plot is large but narrow! Could we swap a some ground at the very back of the North for ground somewhere else? For example reserve some area to the rear of the club shop for planting trees/a new playground/new basketball courts etc in exchange for a slither of the park behind the Trinity? I looked at Goodison on Google Maps and they were just completely hemmed in in a way that we aren't - you would think we could find a way forward where we are.
  3. Could the Trinity take another tier if the roof was raised? Even a small one? Always felt it has a small capacity for such a large structure- corporate aside. Holte has more seats like and it is an end stand.
  4. Hey tinker, I appreciate that. It is of course the risk. I am just going off the changes happening at the club through Atairos, the fact that we are falling behind on stadium revenue and the interesting post by Dakota above about what his friend heard. When you look at it, that would point to Witton Lane coming into the picture for redevelopment.
  5. That is exactly my point. Those advocating a new build: if we have a billion sloshing around we could buy all those properties at a generous price and still wouldn't come near the cost of a new build.
  6. Well we just don't know. I think we all agree something big is in the works so to me this is the logical step if we aren't moving to a new build.
  7. I am just relieved he isn't a Trump man.
  8. Of course, but you just never know. That housing stock is quite old and it is right next to a busy stadium. The occupants may well jump at the idea of a good value offer and a chance to live in newer accommodation away from a football stadium. It's not beyond the bounds of possibility
  9. I have been saying this too, that if we have that kind of money we can buy the property. And if we can do that we can build behind the existing stand with minimal disruption. I don't know why this idea keeps being rejected given that this is more or less what we did in 1993 to build the current stand and we are genuinely a wealthy club now compared to 1993. If that is the plan then I cannot wait to see renders!!!
  10. I would like to think he will want to take us to a trophy and the Champions League at the very least before thinking about moving. But he truly has an opportunity to be like our Wenger if he sticks around for say a decade. That would make him a legendary of the Premier League era.
  11. In the past 11 months alone they have gone from definitely building a new North Stand, to Heck saying a new stand is 'a bad idea' and 'we are adding too many seats too fast' to appointing stadium construction experts to the Board. And we have gone from saying goodbye to the 'Lerner badge' to having a new round badge to well actually no, we are not keeping that round badge and we are going back to a shield. If they go back to straightforward clear comms people will take them at their word and I will be the the first ti applaud them for it. People don't like being b.S ted.
  12. The events of last night will go down in Villa folklore, like Jed Steer's stare, Phil King's penalty and Bosnich's heroics against Tranmere. What a night.
  13. Watching Coefficients on a Thursday night Blues are Watching 'cuz they're **** shite What a feeling what a night
  14. Think he means the league will end up only having 3 places at some point!
  15. It is important we focus on the Arsenal win, and the momentum we have. This nervousness/pessimism needs to be left at the door. Put tonight's games to one side, We have a great chance to get 4th anyway.
  16. Such nonsense. Why do you constantly heap pressure on all our games? We have 63 points, 2 wins probably gets us 4th
  17. Beat Bournemouth at the weekend and we probably just need a win and a draw to get 4th.
  18. If we are doing the 3000 reconfigure thing, would we not need planning permission?
  19. That's fine mate. And we should. But if that's all we do in the next 2 years we aren't going to be competing with all these clubs who are bringing in massive revenues
  20. To be fair, while I want to stay at Villa Park, a new stadium would be a better option than a position of "nah, feck it, just cram another 3,000 seats in and it will be fine" which was quite concerning.
  21. Yes allani, that was a poor choice of wording by me. I was trying to argue they may well be considering a new stadium despite the denials because it would not be the first time the plan changed!
  22. We could conceivably buy properties behind Witton Lane and build a new stand there behind the current one and then finish the job over a summer. Likewise, maybe they have found a way to do this with the North redevelopment or to do the build in a way that allows fans in the lower tier before completion (as was done with the Holte and Trinity while they were being finished).
  23. Point taken but you have got to admit they have been doing handbrake turns for the past 12 months on many different aspects of the club so people take that denial with a pinch of salt.
