  1. There is a vocal minority here who think we should just take what we're given because we simply don't understand the genius at work. To me it's like he found Randy Lerner's old box of crayons!
  2. Champions league has been a glass ceiling for us. We finished 2nd before 2nd got you in. We finished 4th before 4th got you in. We haven't finished in those spots since qualification was widened. If we smash that glass ceiling we know we can do it again over the next decade. It would be a big moment for Villa.
  3. The badge is the worst thing about that kit. Surprised they are getting away with this bullshit after everything we have been through since 2022- how that can be a legitimate representation of what emerged from consultation is beyond me.
  4. No, us getting into the CL would be massive for us. And we have the manager best equipped to actually manage us through the challenge. Imagine that music at Villa Park? It would be epic.
  5. I honestly do not know how anybody can think the pale yellow options we have had, and are going to have, are better than any of the claret lion options we have seen on this thread or in our past
  6. I didn't like the Luke kit. Still not mad about it except for it was a good season in the end.
  7. Better still, go ahead and flatten it and build the new stand!
  8. Would have been great to see Spurs goal difference take a battering but great to be 7 points clear with them not being able to catch us in their two games in hand.
  9. Our most impressive midfielder of our little mini run went off injured in the first half. Our goalkeeper, the world no. 1 in his position, went off at half time. We have guaranteed, mathematically with three games to go, 5th place for the first time since 1997. Maybe have some perspective?
  10. Eh, who exactly do you bring on? Yoiri went off. Kamara out injured, Ramsey out injured. Zaniolo out.
  11. Hey man, I didn't mean it like that. I meant anybody in a suit- it was sloppy wording and I will edit it. Also, I'm not British myself, I am Irish!
  12. Chelsea were so up for it. They looked like a team out to prove a point. Youri going off was a big moment. Emery has very few options with all the injuries.
  13. OMG, some of the comments in here! He is a bit out of form but he is a top player about to hit his prime.
  14. Great to see a common sense post. Sick to death of online villa communities bemoaning our lack of midfield, our inability to make subs and our somewhat more inconsistent demeanour in the second half of the season. We have been absolutely hammered with injuries - two more tonight - FFS
  15. Just this season. We had them until end of last season.
  16. We are down to the bare bones but came out with a point. When Tielemens went off and then Emi I feared the worst. I back this team 100%.
  17. Thanks mate, I appreciate you engaging with me on it. It's all well and good people saying new fans are more important than traditional fans but it is the traditional fans who are there when you are sitting 13th in the Championship and it doesn't sit well with me how things have been handled on the badge and the stadium. As of right now, for example, we can't be sure what the vision for Villa Park is at a time of growth for the club. It seems there is more premium seating on the way, presumably, in place of current GA seating. If Heck wants to start afresh he should do a comprehensive interview at the end of the season and no more flippant "Oh we're not doing that now" type comments about big item issues that impact the future of the club and the capacity for fans like me to attend games. Edit: I also would advise against throwing shade on Purslow's legacy. Purslow was hired in our third season ad a Championship club and undoubtedly left things better than he found them.
  18. If that was our badge it would be the best in the Premier league but the pale yellow on blue just melts into insignificance in that lineup.
  19. Yorke's Instagram is all Man United. Not a reference to the Villa, the club that made him.
  20. The genius of Emery is that he knew we needed a revolution at Aston Villa. He knew that to do that, and where others had failed, he had to lead the entire club and bring the fans with him.
