  1. Man City are cheats... Everyone knows that.... Them winning the League again doesn't mean anything to most fans. Watching Arsenal fans implode again is much more fun.
  2. I mean other teams around us will win games too... That's why they're on this half of the table.
  3. God, I hope so. Their fans really are insufferable. Reminded me of Leeds fans in the Championship in Bielsa's first season where they acted like they won the league already before Christmas and bottled it hard. I hope Arsenal do the same.
  4. Honestly, this is typical from a lot of Forest matches I've seen this season. Get several chances but don't finish them off and allow their opponents back into the game.
  5. What a save by Navas!!! That should have been 1-0 to Brighton.
  6. LET'S FOOKIN' GO!!!! Forest have been good so far. Lots of energy and the crowd is rocking which is helping drive them on.
  7. They have to play 5 matches in 15 days to close the season out... 4 of which are Arsenal, Newcastle, Man City, and the Villa. Fatigue is going to catch up to them.
  8. I think many need to temper their expectations with this kid... Seeing lots of suggestions from some here who seem to think he's going to be in our squad next season... QPR fans beg to differ. Looks like another Championship loan is needed. https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/forum/297255/iroegbaenum--decent-prospect/#27

    Jhon Durán

People need to remember that he joined us in the middle of the MLS offseason this January, so he was no where near match fitness. He's also just moved to Europe for the first time and is adapting to not only life in England, but life in the Premier League. I really don't expect to see much of him this season, but I can see him battling with Archer this summer for a rotational/cup place in the squad with the other going out on a season long loan.
  10. He looks like Forrest Gump when starts running at speed.
  11. I think Wolves will be our toughest game in this run in... They're starting to click right now and will absolutely be up for it when we come to visit. I'd be over the moon with a point at Old Trafford and a point at Molineux.
  12. Both teams looked very tired this game and off pace... Villa still dominated possession and comfortably got the win. Mings MOM for me. Was stellar again at the back and did an excellent job leading the line in the offside trap several times. Honorable mention for Douglas Luiz too. Undefeated in the last 10 matches with 8 wins... Unbelievable form from Emery! We're now 5th in the table!!! UTV!!!
  13. Just bought my ticket as well for this one!
  14. Nakamba will be off this summer. He'll have a lot of interest after his very successful loan. Luton fans love him to death and would love to see him there permanently. Tim has been absolutely horrific at QPR since Beale left in October and has look fooking ghastly under 2 managers since. QPR fans don't have anything nice to say about him on their forums whenever I have popped in to check on his progress. He's not ready for even a rotational cup spot in the Villa squad and will probably go back to another mid-table Championship club on loan. AJ and Archer might end up being rotation/cup options at the club after a preseason with Emery, otherwise I can see both of them getting loan interest from bottom half prem clubs. It's also possible Archer may be off on a permanent move to help finance summer spending, if the money is right.
  15. I see us buying another senior striker this summer to push/rotate out with Watkins, someone like Thuram or Dembele, but we'll need a 3rd in the squad and I think that one will either be Archer or Duran, with the other going out on loan again. Preseason with Emery will dictate who will all end up where.
  16. Villa also have a massive waiting list for season tickets, so basic economics will denote that prices will continue to rise until it gets to the point where Villa Park is still full consistently but the giant waiting list drops off to nearly nothing. This will unfortunately mean that a lot of people will be priced out of season tickets and stop coming to games every weekend. The world is changing and top flight football is no longer a working man's cheap weekend entertainment, it's a global sport with a huge worldwide consumer base. The Premier League is the biggest sporting league in the world and the money being thrown around by clubs right now mirrors that, so it was only a matter of time before ticket prices caught up to this. Other big clubs have a significant portion of their match spectators be out of country tourists who buy hospitality packages and spend a lot on beer/food in the stadium pub and on merchandise in the club shop. Villa really hasn't caught up to other clubs in this regard, but the stadium upgrades are paving the way for this.
  17. Thomas Frank is a very astute tactician and you could tell from the prematch presser how much Emery respects the man. I think Emery's response in the 3 substitutions stabilized us and gave us a platform to attack later in the game once the players calmed down after the goal, but like you said it was just a minute too late. I think Brentford will be an excellent learning opportunity for the squad. Our build up at the back got significantly better after the Leicester mistakes, so I'm going to bet the squad will know how to better respond in the future to a team who tries to do to us what Brentford did.
  18. Looking at all y'all complaining about the cost of Premier League season tickets & add ons is hilarious compared to NFL/NBA season ticket costs in the USA. I'm in the process of buying Detroit Lions season tickets right now and it's going to set me back $3,000 USD for 2 seats for 10 games this season.
  19. I was watching the Madrid v Celta Vigo match this weekend and all the commentators were talking about whenever he got the ball was how it's pretty much common knowledge in Spain that he's off to Madrid this summer.
  20. I'd 100% take Lo Celso if Coutinho is making an exit this summer. Would be experienced competition for Buendia/Ramsey/McGinn in the midfield.
  21. Bro, that's like saying we should go after Haaland last summer... He's going to have all the elite clubs chasing after him. Veiga and Kvaratskhelia are going to be the two most in demand players in Europe this summer.
  22. Does anyone know if Man City/Brighton/Man United win the FA Cup and finish in the top 4 if we can… …still loan in Januzaj??? Please!??!!?? Someone, I need to know??!!??!!?!
  23. This... People acting like the Champions League was a possibility this week were delusional. I'd be over the moon with 8th and anything beyond that would be icing on the cake. I'm also worried that some of the "get it forward" brigade will start to moan if we don't finish 5th/6th and start to vocally question the brilliance of Emery if we "bottle the run in".
