  1. Bosnich Spink Rimmer Bosnich was unreal during his spell for us. And Spink should be in everyone's list for THAT game. Not to mention nearly 20 years of excellent service.
  2. Interesting. Given the team colours, do you think they meant to buy Victory and got Heart by mistake?
  3. I hate to be the one to tell you this, but cheating became acceptable in football a loooooong time ago.
  4. I dread to think how the original post read _before_ it was edited!
  5. Let me tell you something. That game has become almost mythical in itself. It's always the first place people will point in praising Paul McGrath, and rightly so. However how many people were over 15 years old in 1994 on here? And have any of you actually watched that game since that day? What you're more than likely doing is riding on what people have said since. I have a match report from a magazine at the time and Phil Babb was rated a 9 and McGrath an 8 from the game. Granted that isnt exactly concrete evidence but I have seen that game as well as the 94 LC final many times and IMO he had a even better game against United a few months earlier. The fact that writing all this makes me feel dirty says it all about how we cannot say any differently without being chastised. He was a great player but "one of the all-time greats" is proving my point. Overrated isnt a derogatory term. In this case its merely just Villa fans who overrate him. Look at someone like Stanley Matthews for example. "The wizard of dribble". Watch the videos. He has one move, which was to knock the ball past a player and run onto it. A move than 99% of amateur footballers could do today in their sleep. A humongously overrated player by the legend status he has today. I was well past 15 in 94 when I watched that game, and I've seen it again since a few years back. McGrath was superb, and fully deserving of his praise. Although I'll grant you, he was no Phil Babb.
  6. Don't have Tevez to bail them out this time. Can't quite see Andy Carroll having the same effect.
  7. Watching this decision just now, I'm surprised there so much fuss tbh. Yeah, he plays for the penalty, but I've seen hundreds more obvious dives than that one, and Guzan was somewhat foolish. <runs away quickly>
  8. Yeah right. Even if he says that, i wouldn't believe it for a minute.
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIpm_8v80hw Great vid from Rob Newman, excellent presentation and comedy, and certainly not the first person to suggest the origins of WW1 may not be quite what we've been taught they were.
  10. Would like to get Blatter over here to the Melbourne Open Tennis this week so he can see first hand what a stupid idea the Qatar WC is. Temperatures all week are 40+ degrees (in the shade). So far we've had a Canadian player pass out, several crowd members pass out as well as some ball boys. One player's water bottle melted, and another has burns on their arse from sitting on an uncovered plastic seat! Many players have said it's "inhumane" to make them play in these conditions. Qatar of course will be hotter still...
  11. The phantom island of Brasil off the west coast of Ireland. Said to be cloaked in mist, except for one day each seven years when it became visible but still could not be reached - according to Irish myth.
  12. Pity those telling the jokes. They're just ignorant and uneducated. Or perhaps they just like jokes.
  13. 94-4, nice start. Again. Think we could win this one - after all, Australia haven't won a test in 2014, and we're unbeaten.

They should make a cheeky bid for that Lukaku fellow, he seems pretty handy.
  15. Young reaping the fruits of what he's sowed.
  16. This. I can't see why anybody would want aside from nostalgia and some blind hope that he'd play like it's 2009. He's been poor for ManU, even worse for England and wasn't particularly impressive in his last couple of years here Indeed. His crossing in his last season or two for us was bloody woeful.
