The guy I bought it from is one of Melbourne's top guitar people, runs a vintage guitar shop.. and this was his personal guitar - so it's already setup perfectly! Recent re-fret too. The only problem I've now discovered is it makes all my other acoustics sound a bit shit. Why don't you sell your other acoustics to grab some of the D28 money back? Well I do 50-100 gigs a year, and I don't want to expose the Martin to that - it's a studio/writing guitar at this stage of it's career I think So I'll keep the Epiphone for live work. I got a little money as an inheritance, so I don't need to worry about making back the cash which is nice - and rare!

I like a nice sunburst Funny things, acoustics. My Epiphone sounds really good with 13-56 strings - but I tried dropping down to 12-52s, and it sounded awful.

I've never been one to spend a lot of money on instruments - my normal gigging acoustic is an Epiphone Masterbilt, excellent guitar but was only about $1,200. I've got a Fender Jazzmaster (Jap) too, another mid-range instrument. But I've been after this Martin 7 years... got some unexpected funds and thought right, it's really time to treat myself.

Some pics. Impossible to do it justice though! The top is extremely well "weathered", but the rest of the guitar is pretty immaculate. Case has seen some action...

Ah, but if I'd streamed the album, I'd have done so once and never gone back. Owning it meant I gave it a few more spins, and got the reward. And I love getting albums by bands I've not heard of and not knowing what to expect. All part of the thrill. Also, I'm a luddite

I think I've paid the equivalent of just under 2k in sterling, yeah. I'll stick some pics up tomorrow. Very well worn guitar, still with original case - which would seem to have been around most of North America judging by the stickers. The tone is simply exquisite <drools>. Once in a lifetime purchase this one.

Off to collect a guitar soon that I've had my eye on after borrowing it for some recording seven years ago. 1975 Martin D28 acoustic. Yum!

I'm going to see Bellowhead in a couple of weeks. I know what they do, but I don't have any of their albums. Where would you recommend I start? No idea. I only have this album! People kept telling me I'd love it, but the first 4/5 times I tried to listen to the album I couldn't even get half way through. Then I gave it one last try and it all clicked into place, loving it now.

Complaints from Uruguay about Neymar's diving. I'm not sure you can complain about diving when you have Suarez in your side. Or indeed most other Uruguayan players.
