  1. Days like today really make me appreciate no longer doing a suited commute on the Northern Line. To make it worse there will be constant delays and waiting in the tunnel for obscene times because you'll have people fainting and having to be taken off.
  2. I almost said there aren't 10 teams with higher paid managers than us, but I thought it's not strictly relevant! If we can't get top 10 without spending another £80m on a starting midfielder and striker then imo he isn't good enough - would be great if we made these signings anyway. I really hope it does all come together this season.
  3. I'm responding to the numerous posts there have been over the last few weeks and months saying we need x more starting players to finish in the top 10. I agree that the club likely see it differently and would be disappointed with 10th.
  4. Do you still think they have better teams/squads than us? Our wages will definitely be higher than all 3.
  5. I don't get why people think top 10 is so ridiculously hard to achieve. In my opinion: there aren't 10 teams with better striking options with us there aren't 10 teams with better a better keeper than us there aren't 10 teams with better creative options than us there aren't 10 teams with better equipped squads than us there aren't 10 teams with a better DM than us there aren't 10 teams with 2 first team quality players for more positions than us Let alone all of the above.
  6. I can only assume the person behind this later became head of crust innovation at Pizza Hut.
  7. Come on Lawrence Bassini, complete the deal and prove this man wrong!

Is he a particularly good passer? Unless I'm missing something he is statistically one of the worst passing CBs in the league and I remember the passing maps last year showing he pretty much only passes to Mings.
  9. @JAMAICAN-VILLAN Firstly, apologies for my laziness in not cross thread quoting! I never understood arguments along the lines of 'where did it all come from, it can't be from nothing' in support of religion, seeing as most religions assume an all-powerful sentient being did exactly that. Why is that more feasible than simple matter?
  10. The really great thing about the internet is everyone gets to post their opinion for the world to see. If he was on the fence about signing a new contract I very much doubt he still is.
  11. I'm assuming they'll learn their lessons from Wheel of Time and ready to be disappointed. I'm glad I didn't try WoT as I'd like to read the books.
  12. Do you just mean injuries etc from health, or is there something underlying? He's a really good player.
  13. I don't care what people say, I'm optimistic.
  14. You've not even read the short article have you? A large part of he controversy is that there was an alleged coverup. Like I asked you yesterday, if illegal killings are swept under the rug and ignored, what then? You should probably stop cosplaying as anonymous.
  15. I'm sure everyone agrees, but when there are allegations of the investigations being coverups there is no other recourse. Presumably this is why people with knowledge of the situation leaked it. Public scrutiny has a tendency to force improved standards of behaviour. I'm still not sure where the disrespect was?
  16. You seem to be confusing disrespect and accountability. Do you think a blind eye should be turned to war crimes if they are found to have taken place?
  17. I don't buy into the over the top criticism of him, but what do you mean what are we playing at? He has free will and if he has decided to leave then that's what he'll do, whether this year or next. Nothing we can do about it.
  18. I know a few people who have gone down the consulting route, @Stevo985. To a man they preach it was the best thing they ever did - some have been taking jobs pretty much constantly and earning a load more, while others went down the 6 months on, 6 months off route and have become the most smug, insufferable bastards ever.
  19. When there are decades of evidence pointing to obvious and unsavoury truths about someone's character it's a bit lazy to not research it or, more realistically, wilfully ignore it. Politics would be a very different playground if people were informed though and it's not like the Daily Mail printed any of it and told people it was bad, so they can hardly be expected to form an opinion.
  20. Why not? People voted in the guy that said this: “And that brings me to the last and greatest group of male culprits. Most of these single mothers have had the common sense to detect that the modern British male is useless. “If he is blue collar, he is likely to be drunk, criminal, aimless, feckless and hopeless, and perhaps claiming to suffer from low self-esteem brought on by unemployment. “If he is white collar, he is likely to be little better.”
  21. I almost posted similar. Glad I didn't as I enjoyed it far more delivered with your typical charm.
  22. I was going to say nothing is a guarantee then I realised that it just is.
  23. An offering more likely to win over the regular man on the doorstep than flyers. Trump only had the hats and that took off.
  24. Add to that 'champagne socialists' and 'politics of envy' then you start to realise they just don't think anyone has the right to vote in the interests of wider society. Part of the reason I packed in property is I got sick of babysitting the mentally stunted and poorly read offspring of the inherited wealth upper middle classes. I almost quit my last job on day 1 when a senior colleague accused a guy's scarf of being "a bit woke". It's a shame really as a few were clearly inherently decent, they had just lived such insular lives that they couldn't understand most big issues.
