  1. You should be a more supportive mother.
  2. Of course he could be sacked as CEO. There are plenty of examples of CEOs being the largest shareholders, including in companies they started, and getting pushed out of an operational role. It is unlikely they would do it without exercising provisions that presumably exist to buy him out first.
  3. No, but other people's reasons shouldn't have been dismissed out of hand as a personal vendetta. There were plenty of good reasons to doubt that the people posting them got mocked for. I find it interesting that after month's of evidence of us playing poorly and showing no improvement, that people got mocked for pointing out, 1 game has been enough to make the mockers take a more balanced view or disappear completely. I am someone who can ignore a multitude of problems if performances are good, as it will generally result in improvement. Likewise I get worried by constantly shit performances that result in 1 goal wins. One of the reasons I probably wanted Bruce gone a while before yourself. My original point was simply "it feels like an echo chamber" because some of the loudest voices have gone completely while many others have suddenly seen some of what people were talking about themselves. FWIW I am behind the manager, but he needs to show some improvement. Unfortunately I've been saying this since Christmas, so hopefully it comes soon!
  4. I wasn't even one of those posting criticism so I can't claim vindication. I largely avoided the topic because it got so toxic. The point is we haven't played well for ages and didn't play well in preseason, but those who did say this were shouted down as pessimistic and having a vendetta against the manager. While some clearly did/do have an issue with the manager personally there were plenty of well-evidenced posts that got nothing but sarcasm and derision from people like yourself. Good to see you have the strength of conviction to maintain that approach.
  5. Probably because the people who were endlessly shouting down those who pointed out the signs of us being a bit shit have been there for months have gone conspicuously quiet. Hopefully we can improve from here.
  6. I like Graham Potter, but think this is complete rubbish. He did very well in Switzerland in a pretty low profile job, followed by a year at Swansea and a few years at Brighton being 'comfortable'. No foreign coach would be able to get a much better job based on that CV. He needs to take a risk and leave Brighton to go to a level of club that would already hire him (us/Everton/Newcastle) and prove himself there before clubs higher up the league would take a chance. Arteta, the foreign equivalent of Lampard with links to a high profile club, actually coached at the highest level before being given the chance.
  7. If your drivers can't cope with finding somewhere from a postcode you should hire people who can, like drug dealers.
  8. I was a bit gutted that for the first time in a long time I'm going to really struggle to watch games this year. I'm very grateful the manager is doing his best to make me not give a shit.
  9. Pretty sure the source has history of posting disproved nonsense, but everyone decided they wanted to believe this one so there was no point saying anything.
  10. Are they actually the same people or are you doing that VT thing where different people's opinions get conflated to support general accusations of hypocrisy?
  11. Nonsense. Many fans are just overly sensitive and looking for a reason to feel slighted. Remember it's his career, not yours. Iroegbunam left the club that trained him to join the team he supports sacrificing game time in the short term and I doubt you feel the same about him. Anyway, this isn't even the Carney thread. Would be nice if we kept the over sensitive reactions to the correct thread so people can choose to ignore it.
  12. Yeah, we can't always make a big profit. Will be nice just to get to a point we're not constantly selling players for a loss or losing them on a free.
  13. I'd probably be impressed if I knew what that meant.
  14. Obviously in his opinion. Why do people keep posting this? It's safe to assume if there isn't a quote it's the poster's opinion. Hopefully we don't get to the point of needing to put a disclaimer on every comment. p.s. you write your second line like it's a fact, but it's your opinion. Can't say I love the smell of my arsehole.
  15. You must be newer to the internet than my grandma.
  16. I hope his career doesn't reach the heights it could simply to put off young players from making the same decision in the future. Anyone hoping for a career ending injury is twisted. As for Caleb, any decisions should and will be made in isolation. I've not seen in him what others do yet though.
  17. Sharron Davies was getting work before this?! She hasn't been as visible in my lifetime as she has since taking up this crusade. I'm sure she'll find a way to monetise it.
  18. When you're arguing over linguistic semantics because you and another poster disagree on what our manager has shown so far it's probably time to take a break. It's all got way too toxic in here.
  19. All from people who just decided they can't be arsed rather than having a valid reason? Damn, that is widespread. 40,000 people to follow up on, check their reasons and chase for money that many of them won't even have is also a lot of money a day.
  20. What if your train is cancelled? There is an accident so your bus doesn't arrive on time? You get a leak in your house just before you leave? You have a debilitating illness that flairs up on the day and you can't get there because accessible travel funding has been cut so much as council budgets are slashed? Public transport going wrong is likely to be the main reason people will miss appointments and in many parts of the country are mostly relied on by people on the lowest incomes. Issuing a £100 fine for missing an appointment is only going to drive some people into greater difficulties. Following up to check people missed appointments for 'acceptable' reasons is only going to cost more money than gets saved, so is purely a punitive political measure to gain support from wannabe authoritarians. Do you believe there are many people that arrange an appointment to deal with a health issue and then decide they can't be bothered? Considering what it takes to even book an appointment with the GP at the moment I'd be astonished if that was widespread.
  21. I'm not sure what you think you're breaking to me and the usage of the word still screams middle management talk to me. Of course transfers can work out worse than planned, my point is we never would have signed him or anyone else thinking they weren't good enough to start a game for us.
  22. Is elite the newest football buzzword? Of course we have always tried to sign who we think are the best players available and affordable at the time, including when we signed Traore.
  23. I heard @bickster was caught giving handjobs round the bike sheds.
