I think the reason I’ve been harping on about him being clearly out of form is exactly this. We saw his game drop significantly last season when playing pretty much every game up until Southampton. I have to wonder why Deano never wants to drop him and give him a rest.

McNeil is deffo a good shout, would be interested to see him in a non Burnley squad. Didn't he sign a new contract recently though?

he's an interesting one. Got a move off the back of the World Cup IIRC and is highly rated.

If we get a decent bid in for him over the summer, I would be very tempted to take it. He's clearly inconsistent enough (as a starter) for us if we are trying to be perennial top 6 challengers.

i think that's the problem though. Many have said this was a summer transfer brought forward because of the TV deal. Also imo it's hard to say bring in another forward because Watkins has played every minute for us I believe and not sure where that forward would've gotten minutes. (I do want one in the summer though)

hard to judge him against a 10 man team who's all dropping back. Still not sure if he should be starting yet

Almost the exact same as the first game we played vs them, except the red was before they were down to 10. We controlled and dominated everything but only won off a set piece.

i see that we've been linked with a bid to re-sign Tammy. I just don't think it makes sense from our point of view. Dean doesn't play two up top often, if ever at all. Already spent big on 2 strikers - and we're not moving Watkins out wide just to accommodate Tammy. We definitely need depth at striker but I think Tammy's just the wrong answer plus he'll cost a fortune.
