  1. from what I'm seeing, Sheffield United might be running into trouble with hiring a new manager because of the new brexit rules. They have been after someone in belgium iirc and he (and/or his staff, not sure who is actually included) wouldn't qualify for a work permit
  2. Parker absolutely going after the refs in the tunnel. Can say I was a little surprised they didn't disallow that goal with Holding being offsides, but hey inconsistent decisions happen a lot
  3. so no clubs from Germany or France involved. Hmmmmmmm
  4. Lacazette looks like he did his hamstring so looking like he will be out for their Europa games as well (which they need to win to realistically qualify for Europe)
  5. Last game was his 100th PL appearance
  6. Unless United are planning on selling both DeGea and Henderson, that move doesn't make any sense for Martinez to even consider if he wants to be a true #1
  7. Just was watching the U23 game and was wondering how many first team managers go to most, if not all of the youth team games and like Dean was after the game -- talking to the players after the match while they walked off... feel like that would be something that would be pretty helpful for the young guns
  8. good to see Deano chatting with Wesley just now
  9. still not sure what i think of the decision but fwiw
  10. Flick rumored to be getting the Germany job after the season
  11. especially when their sporting director comes out and says "We want to establish ourselves as a top 25 team in the country"
  12. I'd love to see us go after Dike as well. Every time I see him he looks very good. @Villan4LifeI think mentioned him a while ago as someone to watch for Other thing (which "fits" some of our signings profiles") is that if he gets a PL move and does recently well, he is more than likely going to be the #9 for the USMNT which might be a very good way to increase popularity over here in the states.
  13. Not sure why I am thinking of this, but does the Trez injury make it more likely that we don't move him on during the summer?
  14. every time I think of possibly signing RLC I go look at what Fulham supporters think of him. and this is what I get.
  15. We're having our best season in a decade, and first time in that decade that we're above a PL relegation scrap and yet I see many calls for him to go. Have we as a fan base forgotten what being a mid table PL side is like? Obviously there are fair criticisms of him, like non Grealish performances, and his substitutions at certain points, but really? We're gonna sack the manager who's led us to best position in the league for a decade because "he can't take us up to the level we are going to go under our owners"? We would be absolutely be under a lot of media scrutiny should that happen from all angles
  16. I think we should look at some of the "big 6" youth/under23 players and see if there are any good bargains there. Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith Rowe (don't think he's realistic thou after getting all this game time), Harwood-Bellis (who's on loan from City at Blackburn), Tomori (think he's going to Italy permanently though), Guéhi (who's been at Swansea), and Gallagher all come to mind.
  17. I agree, I'd like to see more of the youth as well.
  18. agreed, I think that might be the reasoning behind not having more youth players as 1st team subs
  19. week in week out consistent wingers are one of the most in demand players and there just isn't a large quantity of wingers who can do that. Even clubs in the CL are always looking out for wingers that are consistent. ****** Manchester united don't even have a regular first choice right winger that is consistent enough
  20. I don't think Ramsey is the "cream of the crop" for our youth system, he is likely just the most physically developed of them that we have promoted to the first team squad. There's a reason we haven't seen the likes of Louie Barry play with the first team - he's not physically at the point where he can hold his own with PL level center backs. Now, would I like to see some of the youth prospects get some experience this year yes.
  21. yeah definitely looked like it was a pretty nasty injury
  22. as soon as I saw the first replay I knew it was gonna be offside. somehow all of those sort of replays end up being offside
  23. I still don't know what Arsenal under Arteta is supposed to be? And I know he was under pressure earlier this year, but I don't understand why Arteta isn't under more pressure now.
  24. Mentioned this a while back and it now got moved to the podcast, but Deano was interviewed by former teammate Robbie Mustoe (one of the lead PL analysts over here in the states) and is now on one of the most recent podcasts that he has (The 2 Robbies). Not sure if it is US only but thought it might be of interest to folks.
