if we sign another midfielder, who's spot does he take? Ramsey's, I would have to assume?

yeah -- I've seen a few clips of him and he looks a fantastic prospect but man. I assume because he is 19 that it counts towards ffp as that's older than academy age as well

I think for me it our transfer business comes down to the McGinn conundrum. Gerrard makes him captain and pretty much undroppable. If we look back to our first starting lineup back in the PL, we only have 2 guys who are regular starters: McGinn and Mings. We have supposedly upgraded at every position outside of where Ginny plays. Since Gerrard has come in, Cash & Ramsey have really pushed on (and we have KKH), Coutinho came in (and we have Buendia), Kamara signed for CDM (plus Tim), Digne for LB, and Chambers + Carlos (before this nasty injury) at CB. This, to me, makes it logical that striker and McGinn's spot are the next that we need to upgrade. but how can we upgrade the position of the player whom we just made captain. I think that if we sign someone and drop Ramsey, that might also send out another bad message for younger academy players that we won't have all the faith in them.

yeah, I don't think we can really put that much blame on VAR for this as Anthony Taylor is *literally* 3/4 yards away and doesn't call it. that is an issue

also pretty sure that Mike Dean was the one who overturned Leicester's penalty yesterday as well

they can only check for violent conducts or if there was a foul directly in the build-up for a goal.

yep, the problem with VAR is it can only advise for red card offenses. They can't "re-referee" the game despite that being a clear foul

Pulled this from another thread. I think the biggest mistake they made was not trying harder to keep Rangnick in his sporting director / consultancy role. He clearly knew that their squad need(s) a whole uplift in pretty much every position in the XI and he was public in saying stuff like this quote. Do they have a real direction? I don't see it except down

Completely agree with this. Playing Coutinho, Ramsay & him might get us through a few games, but I don't think that's a long term tactic that will be successful. I thought he was pretty good today, but still thought that Ramsay and Kamara had better games than he did.
