nah I still wouldn't. Weakening a part of the team which will be crucial for us is again dumb. We can't go into the season with only Watkins and Archer as our only striking options - that's insanity imo. In terms of midfield, when we already have 5 first team midfielders for 2 spots (or 6 for 3 if you want to include Kamara) and that's not including youth like O’Reilly, Iroegbunam, and A. Ramsey. Now, if we were planning on loaning out some of the youth and selling Sanson, not extending Luiz etc then that's a different conversation. But as it is, we have too many midfielders for another Kamara-esque signing atm imo.

IMO that would be especially dumb. Why sell one of our first team players and not replace him? I think we should keep Archer around the squad, but I don't see any reason why we should sell one of Watkins or Ings (unless we're dropping 50m+ on another striker which is a different story). We played with 2 up top several times last season so only having 2 senior strikers, one of whom has 3 appearances / 24 total PL minutes would be incredibly naïve

I feel like the fan base in general is putting a ton of pressure on the lad — all the ‘Archer would’ve finished that chance’ won’t be helpful when he inevitably doesn’t take them all. he’s had quite the last 12 months, and I don’t think many of us could’ve predicted his development arc after his rather average loan stint with Solihull.

Tammy would cost upwards of 60 million, is not an upgrade on either of our strikers atm, and would be creating another logjam of strikers which we already have with Ings and Watkins. Also would probably not be good to bring another one in front of Archer (even though I don't think he's necessarily as ready as some think on here)

I don't see what other option we have. He clearly hasn't signed a contract that has been offered to him for almost a whole year. Why should we sink more resources, development, and playing time to a player who hasn't committed to us? 1. We obviously can't guarantee him the playing time he (probably) desires, as we already have a number of senior players who are ahead of him in the playing order. 2. If it's a money issue, i don't see where he has earned the wages that people are throwing about? and if he does leave next summer, iirc we are due a tribunal fee (though it likely won't be much)
