  1. Confidence is extremely low, no wonder we start games looking nervous. The result and performance after the first 30 mins against Southampton will help. It's going to be difficult for any manager to build that confidence in the players Could have done without fecking Arsenal next game as they'll need to play really well to get anything out of this game. Hopefully the French connection will help. I'd take a draw
  2. Would like to see a big improvement in our defence, without that we are doomed..OK we're probably doomed anyway Just want to see a few chinks of light through the darkness
  3. He's an immature kid with a load of money and qdos, of course this sort of thing is going to happen. Remember when you were 19. If you were as immature as me you would have been out enjoying yourself It shouldn't I agree, but he likes to go out and party...not making excuses for him but it's just a fact Not every footballer is going to be as disciplined off the pitch. Hopefully someone will give him some good advice before it affects his football career. Would be a shame as he certainly has talent.
  4. Encourage people to buy your product, but you can't watch the game live with a carlling in your hand, sounds like hypocrisy to me whichever way you spin it. Budweiser are one of the main sponsors for the world cup in a country that doesn't allow drinking in most places. Hypocrisy again Money talks and always will do especially in football,
  5. So why can't we take a drink to our seat in the Carling cup games? Money makes it's own rules
  6. Crazy outdated rule but no politician is prepared to stick their neck out to change it. If someone even accidently drops a plastic cup of beer the media will jump on it and say it was a full scale riot. Then it's all that politicians fault.
  7. He will be looking for more goals from our midfield. The front man who I suspect will be Ayew is going to have to work his socks off, If he plays Gestede then I reckon he'll put nzog on to hopefully whip those crosses in Veretout showed glimpses on Sunday. As he gains in confidence I can see him driving forward more through the midfield. Remi Garde is a thinker so it should be Interesting times ahead UTV!
  8. The squad of players have been playing this season with no real direction or strategy. I believe Remi Garde has the football brain required to mold this squad into an organised team who will have a direction and strategy. If he does that then he has the tactical nous to get the points we need to survive. The players we have are technically good enough IMO to play in his system. Call me deluded but he is what we need now
  9. Without stating the obvious, this is a very big game on Saturday for Aston Villa football club. Not only for the result but for the performance and intent They need to put in an encouraging performance that shows that the team has some sort of direction. Essentially they need to get the fans onboard, get some belief back. I'm not sure if TS is the man to do it but I'll be there hoping that I see some glimpses of progress in the tactics, the players and how we play generally. if we don't see that and we lose as we did to Stoke I can see the fans turning and a big decision being made. One that will shape the club for a few years to come. This season is massive, if we lose Out on the Sky windfall will we recover? There's no reason why IMO we should be where we are with the players that we have He needs to stick with a system and I'd choose the side he played against Chelsea, if he does we will beat Swansea.
  10. Good players stand out for me, that's my point I've seen him play a lot and he never really adds that much to the side IMO Yes, he's a grafter but that's his job to cover a lot of the pitch Some say he's an unsung hero, well so was Dessie Bremner but no one argued whether he was any good or not The only thing that stands out for me is his frequent s@@t delivery from dead ball situations
  11. Can't say I really notice him in a game until he takes a S@@t corner or free kick! Am I being harsh?
  12. Having standing areas in the ground where singing is encouraged will definately get the rest of the crowd going. Even in the olden days of the terraced Holte there were particular areas like at the back of the Holte on the left side where you would always do a lot more singing and chanting. Then hissing when the p@@@ moved in. It was only when we were on top that the seats would all join in too. The Holte nearly always started the singing though Swap Shop....Tiswas!
  13. That was the worst first half performance I have seen from Villa in a long time...really bad We gave them too much respect and just played hoof ball. They play against that sort of football all the time Thankfully, the second half was a totally different performance. Grealish and Ayew made a massive difference and we were the better side. I was really impressed with Ayew, he started to show glimpses of the player we hoped we'd signed I just hope that Tim Sherwood was blagging the media when he said that first half was all part of his plan
  14. I don't think inexperienced manager is a positive but it is a fact. It's not a good thing but he's in the job now with his signings so we can either get behind him or force him out. If we do the latter we're then looking for a new manager with a bunch of new players signed by TS to fit into his proposed style of play. I'm not sure why we didn't get a striker as I felt we needed a proven premier league goalscorer. Charlie Austin would have been ideal IMO but unfortunately that didn't happen for one reason or another
  15. But youre spinning 'Very inexperienced manager' as a positive - where as the reality is it is a massive negative - the guy at the helm is still feeling his way - thats not a good thing Although we signed a lot of players in the summer - a good deal of those aren't currently making first 11 - this negating the 'new team' argument Weve sold our best striker - and replaced him with two guys who barley look as good as some of last seasons fringe players, Weiman, Robinson Start to address the above the points and the fans will fall into line
  16. Don't panic, Panic! We're a few games into the season with a whole bunch of new players, most who haven't played in the premier league before. The manager is very inexperienced and is trying to put a team together, It's going to take time for the players and the manager. I wish some fans would stop fueling the media with their boos and slating of the manager. We have been watching far too much dross for the last 5 years and I'm sick of it but we have got to take a reality pill and realise that it's not all going to fall into place over night. P for patience and not panic and I'm not using P to be patronising ;-) We've got to stick together. Losing to SHA would be bad enough without listening to the boos and abuse directed towards the manager and players from the home fans. That would be music to the SHA and media sloths. Come on Villa!
  17. Really not looking forward to this game. They have nothing to lose but we are expected to win I want to see us win convincingly but I have a horrible feeling we're gonna play s@@t. Hope they shock me and prove me wrong...please prove me wrong Villa!
  18. Referee was looking straight af the penalty incident. It was a penalty, even Gary Neville said it was a penalty! Can you imagine that t@@t referee not giving it to them at Old Trafford. Thought we started brightly but ran out of steam in midfield especially Gana. A draw would have been a fair result IMO
  19. He believes the team can do great things with hard work and a positive attitude. That belief can be infectious I believe...
  20. The fee and terms will be agreed, a medical lined up and then he'll do a dramatic last minute uturn...
  21. Also the Villa fan who spoke to him today. https://twitter.com/Jbuckers/status/619968418704420865 It was all bollocks invented by the press who are now desperately trying to save face by inventing a "U-Turn". The media making up a story...who'd of believed it?
  22. I think Fab is Fab Didn't make any sense why he would go to Man City but I suppose anythings possible when money is involved Just reckon it was tabloid bulls@@t as usual just to sell a few papers Very glad he's staying
  23. Based on how the clubs starting to turn round this might be the best way to steady the ship, at least in the short term. Personally, I'm starting to think the deal is all but done, and any announcement is being held off until Tim can get his first targets in for as cheap as possible. As soon as the takeover is announced we'll be paying hefty fees all over the shop I agree with this.
  24. It's all about confidence with Tonev. He lost it when trying too hard and struggled. My daughter walked out with him when she was the mascot and said he was more nervous than she was. Hopefully we see the player that impresses in training
  25. Good appointment Imo Tom Fox seems to be putting together a team of positive people who will hopefully work together to achieve the same goal. To nuture a vibrant, confident, hard working side with a winning mentality. The difficult part of building the foundation has been done by going through the austerity measures of the last few years. We don't have to sell our best players unless a club matches our valuation, that's a powerful position to be in. Just hope the new owners don't mess it all up. I have faith that Randy Lerner has the clubs interests at heart and won't just sell to anyone. UTV!
