  1. No problem. Using a car analogy what we have currently is the body work with no mechanics, axels etc designed so it looks nice and you can get some good images etc and most importantly show planning how it will look in context of the surrounding area. The next stage is to them design how it’s all going to work in reality so for us that means things like access in and out rod supports, all the services required to run the building so power, gas, water etc and working out how all of this stuff fits into the space you have available. I’m my job we use a 3d model to do this and judging by the images from Villa they have done the same which is good because you can use that to start working out a schedule of works (4d) and more of a fix on cost (5d). After that stage it’s designing in the specifics. so things like we know we want 50 male toilets in this area but what type of toilet and basin etc. we need kitchen space for hospitality so what configuration of equipment is needed. the is still a lot of work to do but I would imagine a lot of that’s been going on Already so it might not take more than 6 months to firm up the design
  2. What you have to remember with the stage we are at with this to get planning you just need concept design if we are using RIBA stages so over the next 12-18 we will go through spatial coordination so m&e services fitting inside structural design etc then detailed design making sure that all information is ready to build from so I think all that work will be going on in the back ground and can get accelerated accordingly to meet a start on site date. on the renders for the video, i make those things for the Houses of Parliament and I think the ones we have done for VP are very impressive. They usually use gaming technology like unreal engine to pull them together. apologies for being a geek but this is my line of work so I find it fascinating especially when it’s about a place I love like VP
  3. I thought he has been very poor when he has played this World Cup which is the only time I have seen him play but he is a huge downgrade on rabiot for France in my view but that’s based of how I see it in this World Cup only.
  4. Just going to throw this out there in the last 30 years Morocco have been to the same number of World Cup semi finals as England
  5. Is rashford going for worst performance ever in an England shirt
  6. Is it my imagination or luiz Suarez fat now by professional footballers standards ?
  7. I had been thinking given that the Saudis own Newcastle either officially or unofficially who could afford to buy united. I’m not basing this off the cost of buying a business as £6 billion is small fry really in business acquisition terms but more in the purchase cost + running costs + urgently required ground and training complex upgrade vs income return. I get that increasing brand value and potential future sale price might come in to it and the large commercial potential but to me it looks really tricky to make a good value return given the cost of all that’s required and that’s before they even sign a player or add to the crazy wage bill
  8. You can feel it can’t you they get battered for 45 minutes and Dan James goes down like a feather and gets a penalty in the last minute
  9. Just for context wales are being dominated by a side southgates England put 6 past 5 days ago
  10. I think they maybe this is a real poor Wales side depending on Leeds style run around a lot and maybe a moment of magic from bale and this biggest amount of luck
  11. All of the above I think maybe add in disease and malnutrition into the mix too. Hardly surprising that we are in this situation given that the award of the tournament was one of the biggest acts of bribery ever seen and from then on your in the pockets of these guys. No we are on the eve of the World Cup people are starting to arrive and the government out there are now changing what they promised. What a shock
  12. I agree with everything you said there but none more so than the last line. He might not be our captain currently but he with emi our the leaders of this team and maybe add in ash to the mix too. for me though it’s the human side to him that I have the most respect for. I know some in the media hate the idea that a footballer can have coherent opinions on things outside of football but it’s that I think which connects with us as fans. I am as quick as anyone when he has had a brain fart on the pitch to say just concentrate on football but actually in life the are far more important things than football. as @ChesterDad said he is a good footballer and more important a really good human in a society where a lot are not and we should as a club celebrate the fact we have someone like this who will use his voice to support people that don’t have a voice.
  13. I remember the season we went down and we fell more than 3 points away from getting out the relegation zone. that’s when I started to worry knowing that even if you win your still in the drop zone regardless of other results. im sure they will still stop up but I think it will be tight but I see forest and Southampton going for sure. Bournemouth will drop down I think and Leeds are still a very very poor side despite results the last couple of weeks so i expect them to be in the mix
  14. Fwiw I thought he was are poorest player today in an overall excellent team performance although he was effective In injury time.
  15. Shit pass from Martinez, dougie on his heals. I think sometimes playing short for the sake of it leaves you with a mess.
  16. No chance nowhere near good enough. I think the champions league showed what a pathetic standard the Scottish league is. Add to that Celtic and rangers price their players as if they are English premier league players the value would not be there. You only need to look at Eduardo at palace to see how much harder it is to score goals in our league. I wouldn’t look to ever a played from Celtic or rangers! Maybe hibs like we did with mcginn or hearts somewhere like that but not the old firm.
  17. Olsen was the opposite of a sweeper keeper. I don’t think I have ever seen a keeper so rooted to his line. First half balls landing half way in his box and still not coming to collect. I might be being critical but the first goal Bruno was 4 yards inside the area having ran from near the half way line before he crossed it and the last goal I think if that is emi in goal he collects that cross and smashed mctominey out the way
  18. Germany and hungry games say different albeit not a tournament game. the squad announcement has left me flat as I expected it would. I’m pleased that Maddison’s in there because he deserves it on form same as Bellingham but you just know he will have Phillips having played 20 minutes all season and mount who other than against us has been woeful all season
  19. So anyone else thinking Southgate will pick a 4th choice Man Utd centre back, 3rd choice and not played 90 minutes for Man City holding midfielder and am injured and not played for 6 weeks Right back from Man City.
  20. I would imagine he more likely collided with the concrete post that holds the boards. Wish him well with his recovery sounds like a terrible incident
  21. I remember the palace game at home last season sitting in the holte end and we were passing the ball across the back line and it found it’s way to cash and he looked up and both mcginn and Buendia who was on the right tucked right inside and cash had no options up the line which he was clearly looking for. He ended up trying to go inside to emi which got cut out and gave he ball away because everybody was packed into a tiny area of the pitch. I remember thinking that it must have been an arrow between mcginn and emi until it happened 4/5 more times in the first half until cash gave up and started limping it down the line into space. That’s when the penny dropped with her they gerrard was asking them to play like this and that he was actually tactically inept, it genuinely was the moment I thought this guy don’t know what he is doing and is out of his depth. compare to Sunday and the players are finding pockets making runs offering themselves for a pass and a give and go. Amazing what a real coach with plans and tactics can do to a team getting beaten by Fulham 3 weeks ago.
  22. Love this post, I had many a mate growing up in the 80’s and early 90’s that supported Liverpool or Man Utd and you ask them why and you got the response “because they are the best” that used to really wind me up back then but in a way I used to feel sad for them because I had know idea how you actually enjoy football when you live in the midlands or London and support Utd because they win all of the time. Also nobody respects you when you talk about football if you say your a united supporter because your just a glory supporter. it’s the same now for those little shits you see walking around with Man City tops, I wanna ask them if they were supporting them when they were scrapping through the league one play offs
  23. I completely agree. Gerrard does need time to learn what being a manager is actually about. Maybe he should watch emery a bit and he might learn a few things. The give them time thing is usually the managers mates trying to help them out or justify their position. I am not sure how much time we were meant to give gerrard? Presumably to the point where he relegated us and had us consolidating 14th spot in the championship but even that might have been to soon for some. a good manager has walked in and given a squad of decent if not world beating players a game plan, belief and tactics. Look what happens! Even if you ignore the score and just look at the performance and belief of the players it’s like night and day to Gerard’s team.
