  1. Her family were all at her bedside, even Andrew's girlfriend who got the day off school for it.
  2. A highly developed nation, complex and mature economy, healthcare and social policies that are mostly citizen centric, a highly educated workforce, centralised pension plans. I mean, I can go on, it is objectively a progressive nation irrespective of routinely electing the likes of Scott Morrison and Gladys Berejiklian. And the loonie! Maybe we could put a Trudeau on them
  3. This is the time for progressive nations to become republics (Australia, NZ, Canada). Park the "Common"wealth nonsense and move forward.
  4. I'm just glad a royalist didn't come in to cry foul!
  5. Please be respectful when talking about the Queen of England. She was a head of state, a monarch, a mother to multiple pedophiles, and most importantly a devoted cousin to her husband.
  6. The livings so many pundits steal is revolting.
  7. My 2 cents - a good away draw is a good away point, regardless of Leicester's position. They, like ourselves are objectively below the expected points tally and league position. If Bournemouth, Forrest and Fulham were in the bottom 3 and we faced Leicester with a better total, but with both teams mired in uncertainty, the draw would still give us 1 solitary point. It would still be a good point gained. Getting a result is important, as is the display but it's all relative. Leicester should be much higher up. Green is home win, red away and orange the draw. Home advantage slips over time but still exceeds away wins. Is there really an argument against getting a point away?
  8. Couldn't say it better myself. Credit in the bank 100%. He'll have a blinder against Haaland, the other 10 though ... We live in hope.
  9. This may seem like semantics but - hiring a head coach is far more appealing than a manager. This is what you get when you hire a certain type of manager - no tactics, no plan, no clue. We become beholden to the back room team.
  10. A few years ago we were looking down our noses at Palace, S'hampton, Newcastle and the likes. Man do they look like they have a plan now. Even crazy S'hampton look like they've got a clear idea of what they want out of their squad, transfers and tactics. We're so scattershot.
  11. Emily Dickinson opined that "Hope is the thing with feathers", regrettably I cannot give you the same kind of guarantees. He got sent off after 86 mins @ Old Trafford.
  12. I wonder, is Purslow's head turned with the Villa Park project? In theory it's not a bad thing, all things commercial should be in his purview but this football club has fundamental issues on the pitch.
  13. If we were purring along it would make great sense. Top test for a player of his profile. Now we can see how he would have been played under Beale.
  14. I was being as politically correct as possible!
  15. Out of curiosity I took a look, sure enough he played in both 9 nils for S'hampton. 18 goals shipped and 1 red card!
  16. It's like the Jack and the Beanstalk story! Today feels like our rivals are shopping on Amazon and we're down Iceland with Kerry Katona trying to get a deal on sausage rolls.
  17. Apologies for returning to the same well but - why do they hold pens like they're on the verge of completing a crossword? Most of them don't even know what one is, let alone fashion the ability to complete it. They're literally holding pens without anything to write upon .... Soccer Saturday aside, SSN treats its viewers like the braindead dipshits they know they are. It's just a well packaged Daily Heil/S*n/Mirror/rag
  18. We haven't seen anything yet. Just wait until SG is gone and we enter our own Ozil saga with Coutinho. Madness prevails.
  19. I've been caught red handed. Just sack him, no statement!
  20. It's time for one of these posts from the club.
  21. Credit where it's due, Gerrard was effusive in his suggestion that Aston Villa wouldn't serve as a stepping stone to him managing Liverpool. He has stayed true to his word.
  22. Almost unlimited energy and very volatile but it does work well under pressure.
  23. Thought he did reasonably well given he was covering for Ezri so often. I wouldn't question his application or professionalism for a second, especially in the face of such treatment by his bluffer of a manager.
  24. The talk of Spurs looking at McGinn for 40-70m seems like the stuff of satire now.
