  1. I get ya. Thing is my certainty is based off the same uncertainty you have. We just look at the same situation from a different lens. That could be because you're closer to the action, anything. You are 100% correct (a rarity in this thread), he is just a player. No one is bigger than the club. At best he stays, at worst he leaves amicably. There's a cohort of us who're 30+ (no upper limit) who'll just always be disgusted by new money. Man City, they're just like pikeys who won the lotto. Form is temporary, class is permanent.
  2. This is just human conditioning. You're dealing with grief and equating it to expectations/what you would do. Step back from the precipice - he's going nowhere.
  3. I'm not English and not in the UK/Europe, I think it helps keep a slightly clear mind on this. The meedjah have run and run and run and run with this. What have they run with? Nothing. We all expected a bid at some point. Why would Jack believe in the project <12 months ago, believed in everything AVFC prior to a non-entity Euros? Cos he hung out with Foden? Nothing has changed. The club are trolling us, Jack is trolling us. Man City look likely to end up with neither Kane nor Grealish, IMO. **** every one of the Big 6. **** Sky Sports, **** the Daily Heil, **** em all!
  4. While we can decry his accuracy and charlatan-esque behaviour. The only metrics that count are traffic & subscribers, if the Athletic can see a boost to either with City fans, his jobs a good 'un. He doesn't share his sources with the Athletic and transfer rumours are their own insane period of time. We're just old(er) and jaded!
  5. "Google - show me what some one who will reporting on Preston North End in 2022 looks like"
  6. Whatever about Man City trying to break football with this Grealish Kane saga, what really gets at me is Sky Sports. They've dropped the ESL/Big6 facade and are back into prime Murdoch savagery. Screw Villa, screw FFP, screw all the fans they had to pretend to care about. Gimme stories, big names, tabloid headlines and all that is insidious about football again.
  7. Have we ruled out signing Kane ourselves? I guess given his recent unprofessional behaviour it'd probably be a pass from Dean !
  8. Im 36 so Paul McGrath is my yardstick on legend statusAfter that I got Gabby, Stan & Mellberg but they're just soft spots. I've believed Jack stays, period. Before the Euros I think many of us believed there wouls be speculation but no chance we sell. £100m+ right? This recent post Euros silly season has been telegraphrd, to my eye it has mirrored Gerrard to Chelsea so much. Hometown hero has the bright lights of new money splashed before his eyes. Are heads turned? You bet your bollocks getting offered £300/400k a week, turns heads. Its all noise. When he signs the new contract, when Jack turns down glitz and immediate hits for something great, something only a select few will ever attain - immortality. That's when he enters the discussion of the pantheon of greats. Mortimer, McGrath, Bremner. Arise, Sir Jack! Villa to finish ahead of Arsenal, Spurs, Leicester. Qualify for at least EL. Jack to pull the strings at Qatar 22 with Champions League fixture congestion on the mind. Optimism or bust.
  9. Seems reasonably reliable for his preffered NFL. In CJ we believe?
  10. Signing off from the west coast, look forward to the new contract signing in the morning.
  11. Football inflation, he's English (a strange but existing tax), has a long contract. He's better, more influential, significantly more marketable. He's Jack Grealish.
  12. I can already see Jim White "Brrrreaking News - Aston Villa in shock re-signing of Jack Grealish". They want Grealish at Man City, like all "sources close to ...." BS merchants they feed off the buzz, screw the unsettlement of non big 6 clubs. Screw all the clubs we had to pretend mattered during the ESL saga that we'd have bid billions to get a slice of. Screw the players well being, their family members, screw the the abuse of players that we help fester by microanalysing their very existence. Its actually all kind of sickening.
  13. Imagine being this famous. Its a fair whack to deal with in your mid twenties. I get a bit over run with the "bombardment" of a handful birthday greetings and that's only once a year.
  14. Sweet. I got to mentally hear that in full Radio Norwich speak.
  15. I think I've seen enough. I have steadfastly believed Jack goes nowhere. There are some ominous signs. His brother's twitter is gone, he's not getting a huge push on our marketing side even though we're launching kits, I get he's on holiday but his presence is slightly muted. Add to this we sign some stand out midfielders who could substitute for Jack's roles. There's some social media following occuring and a reasomable sense of dread with every paper running this story hard into the ground. It's a trap. In fact, I believe even the club are trolling all of us. Remember everything that we know to be true - money is not an issue, vision is what we are all about, common sense and "moneyballing" the solution, verifiable consistent progress on and off the pitch. NSWE are arguably title winners in the "show me a good owner league". Did I mention the player? A fella who bleeds Aston Villa? Is he really leaving us with a few days to figure out our plans and formation, given he was central to both? Some VT members need to refocus. Treat ITKs online like you're reading the Sun or Daily Heil, for their current affairs! This all stinks of the Gerrard to Chelsea saga, whether his head was turned or not. Jack signs a new deal next week. Any one else look for prices on us in the cups for next season?
  16. Just came here to take a step back in the insanity spectrum - head to Jack's thread if you want to lose your hair quicker. You'll be shocked how many times different people can say the same thing.
  17. Just a little reminder, Premier League are still investigating Man City who only got off on a technicality - time-barred investigations that the Premier League. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/jul/20/court-ruling-shows-premier-league-still-investigating-manchester-city-over-ffp
