  1. So, if the league starts and after the first round of games I'm bottom and then Messi signs for City I get first dibs on him? How long have I got to claim him if thats the case? I've joined the draft league and next Wednesday is fine with me.
  2. If he's classed as a midfielder I think he will be priced at 13.5m. Man City score the most goals and they will get even more with him in the team, does he also get pens? At 12-12.5m he's an automatic pick ahead of Salah/Auba. I did a draft when the game got released and will look again a couple of days before the seasons KOs. There's certainly a lot of options available of how to set up at the start though and it looks like most transfers won't be done before we get underway. I did prefer the market closing before the season last year.
  3. Southgate is lucky there's no fans in the stadiums, if he turned up at VP now he would get so much abuse.
  4. Hope when he gets the call up he retires from international football. I don't really get why he wants it so bad, international football is shite. I spent all my youth booing the likes of Ferdinand, Gerrard, Rooney etc when they came to Villa Park. Didn't really like any of them either, found it hard to support them in an England shirt so never did. England set up has always seemed rotten to me as well.
  5. Great time to redevelop parts of Villa Park. Not sure if we still had plans to fix or build a new North Stand but doesn't look like we will be having a full house in this season.
  6. Because 99% of reports are made up by random journos trying to keep themselves employed. Until they actually activate it don't worry. They can't keep Rodri, Fernandinho, Gundogan and Luiz happy when most games there's only one spot available for them players, I imagine next season when Fernandinho retires they likely bring him back if he continues on current form.
  7. Won't be an issue as the club can just afford to run tests on him every day if needed.
  8. The only issue with the drafting system is how the trades work. If someone gets signed at the end of Sept, which is possible now, who gets them? First come first serve?
  9. Yeh love this game. Only play squads or trios though, it's strange how much the game changes in solos, absolute camp fest.
  10. Yeh I'm in. I didn't realise it was H2H type league when I drafted the team last season, you obvious want more consistent 90 min grinder type players than the ones that are hit or miss. Fairly sure I wouldn't have picked Mosie Kean had I been more aware of the format, at least that's what I'm telling myself See you at the draft.
  11. He's got confidence in his ability which comes across as cocky. He's had a lot of injuries but he's a cracking player when fit and he knows where the goal is. I'd 100% take him providing wages etc weren't an issue. If we are losing a game and need to throw another striker on I'd rather have someone that if they get a chance or a half chance they make something of it. He's a much better option for that than Davis or Samatta.
  12. I don't really understand the hate for JT that seems to have developed. It's like some of our fans think he's the only one responsible for how many goals we conceded last season.
  13. More than likely but I didn't think he was a well known ITK outside this forum.
  14. https://twitter.com/hairyhands5 I have no idea if this is a legit account and I just stumbled across it but wasn't there someone on here a while back (Maybe years and years ago) called Hairyhands and he was pretty reliable?
  15. I think he can play there but you need a very good midfield unit around him. I'm not actually sure we can get away with it if we put McGinn with him so most likely he's better out wide.
  16. Yeh, I do not want Origi at all. His record is pretty appalling if you consider he's mostly coming off the bench and starting against weak teams or tired defences. He also doesn't have that much premier league experience considering he's spent so much time on the bench. While it's hard to compare, his xG per 90 last season was worse than Wesley's. For the 25-30m they will end up wanting I'd prefer Batshuayi if wages weren't an issue.
  17. Wesley is a much better player than Davis is, it's not even close.
  18. He reminds me a bit of Reo-Coker who was very good off the ball but not so much on it. When anyone joins from another league it takes time to get used to the pace of the play, especially when they come from weak leagues. If there's any position that it's going to be costly it's CM/DM, his errors will usually lead to big problems. Hopefully the team is more settled next season, he will be more prepared and can be useful off the bench or in games where we are unlikely to have much of the ball.
  19. Would be good if they keep these staggered KO times and get every game on the box. I think players are just going away for a week-10 days then straight back for another mini pre-season.
  20. I never really understood the desire to play for England and I think it will go away over time. I saw all the abuse England players got after tournaments around 2004-10, wasn't an England player booed at home not long ago too? I don't see why some of them bother, personally I'd take my summers off and prolong a club career.
  21. Considering what we have had to watch since his injury I can't wait to see him again. He will look like **** prime Aguero compared to the rest of our forwards.
  22. I tend to follow the guys who really dig into their stats to make their decisions, xG/xA is something I'll be paying more attention to next season. It is funny to see a random player rock up with a goal and everyone think he's going to blow up. Sarr was another I think.
  23. Finished 2nd in this league, technically 3rd if the guy who was running away with didn't leave the league Overall rank was somewhere around 16k, which might be my highest ever. A lot of people in my other leagues started putting some effort in and since lockdown I've spent a lot more time on it, too much if I'm honest. It's also opened me up the twitter FPL world where there's so much early team news and it has a big impact on how things play out. As someone said the guy who was top was pretty much playing for fun all season and if he was on Twitter would have seen Salah was benched and swapped his triple captain over to someone else and likely won. Kind of hope they make some changes to the deadline for next season but it is what it is.
