Strange because I got forwarded a whatsapp chat claiming that he'd broken his leg last night. Assumed it was nonsense because Jack had updated his Instagram story of him watching the football at home. Can't see him but also wouldn't expect him to do that if he'd just broke his leg. Same info now going through Twitter, doesn't make it any more credible mind but the fact the Villa twitter wont show him in training is worrying me.

He can play anywhere across the front 3, as soon as we see they have a CM playing wing back he should be on the right side. Even more so after we had an awful start and that wing back got booked, Jack would have had more room over there and that's what we need. Same can be said about West Ham when they tried to double up on him, move him and ruin their plan.

I think he's a quality player. He just looks dangerous when he's on the ball, has a good touch, pass and can accelerate to get by defenders and drive forward. Of course he's going to be inconsistent, if he was slamming out 8-9/10s every week he'd not be playing for us.

At times he's almost like a 2nd pressing striker in a 4-4-2. I think he's too far forward and would have more impact on the game if he was a little bit deeper when he gets on the ball.

I actually don't think he's a bad player he's just not suited to Premier League teams in 2020 so it's not helping his game at all. He can work well in a 4-4-2 or a 3-5-2 with a strike partner to play off him but I can't see us using either system anytime soon.

He's going to be 23 next month, it's getting a bit late to loan someone out for development reasons. He should have been loaned out last season but unfortunately our squad was in such a state we had to keep him around. He's in the same age bracket as Cash, Konsa and Luiz who are established first teamers. He has to be sold, if Smith think he might turn into a player then put a buy back clause in the deal.

I don't think he's injury prone, he had one big serious injury with his hamstring at Everton and he's never been able to fully get into that Chelsea team but he's not been injured for a lot of it. Can't really fault Villa for overusing him either, he played 90 mins for 5 games but we had 13 day break between Arsenal and Brighton. Anyone can do a hamstring and that's always been around a month out, it makes sense not to rush him with his history. I think I remember Smith saying he has a chance for Burnley, which was now 2 week ago. Either that was just a total lie or he must have had some sort of set back that they are keeping to themselves.

I'd not be against getting Dele Alli on loan but he will want game time and I don't think we can offer it him. I haven't really rated him for a while but there is a player in there somewhere, he has a lot of mates in this team and he'd get more freedom with how we play. If we don't get Barkley on a permanent it wouldn't surprise me to see us look at him. Wonder what both of them would be priced at in todays market. Targett getting injured would cause us massive problems as would McGinn or Luiz. Some squad/youth players at CM/LB would be ideal.
