Ideally Barkley is in for him and Traore in for Trez. We can afford one loss to the first 11 then it really starts to hurt is, the drop in quality is huge.

They are crowding out Jack and Watkins with their 5 at the back, mids cover well.

You don't need a commanding CM but its an issue when both our full backs and wide midfielder players are very small. McGinn is tiny and Watkins isn't exactly Carew.

This pass around the back with no options is going to cost us a silly goal.

Just shows you how small this team is when McGinn is needed in the box to defend a corner.

Watkins is better but the problem with Wes was we didn't get the ball to him. Watkins needs to have one of his Arsenal, Liverpool games and not the others where he's struggled to get into it. As for Trez looking a threat I assume that's a joke. He's playing out of his skin, he tracks back fantastic and works harder than anyone but he's still not a threat in the final end of the pitch, he's got no pace and can't shoot.

These cups have lost all meaning for me, throw the kids in and get KO'd asap please. I only care about the league.

Problem for me is Grealish going to get the double/triple treatment. You stop him you stop Villa, similar side to what we ended up with last season.

Grealish does the same thing in terms of tracking back, Targett has been left way too open at times this season. Flanks are an issue for sure though. If Conor comes in and you have a midfield 3 then I'd actually drop Trez and put Traore on the other side and get the spare CM to help the fullbacks a bit more. We need to have more quality in attack and swapping Barkley for Conor really kills that, if Barkley is out we have to plug Traore in somehow IMO.

I'd rather take a chance with Traore, he's attack minded and is more of a threat. No offence to Conor but the opponent isn't worried about him, I hate playing 3 CMs and Trez as it means the other team can just double/triple up on Grealish like last season.

I'm sure there will be demand for it but would be a bit crap IMO to be there with 4,000 fans, I'd rather watch it on the box. Must be limited to local ST holders for all clubs I'd have thought, last thing they want is fans travelling all around the country.

17m is about the going rate for a decent squad player for where we want to be. Don't expect too much, he's going to be hit and miss. As a team we look much better against teams that try and play and allow us more space. They played 5 at the back with 3 CMs, they didn't allow us much space.

We don't have a plan B but that's not exactly his fault. Wesley coming back will give him options to go two up top or move Watkins wide. If our 4-2-3-1 system isn't working then that's it, we don't have to players on the bench to change it up, Trez and El Ghazi shouldn't be anywhere near the team and one got 90 mins and the other 20 odd today. The first 11 isn't bad but the squad is well below par and as soon as one or two are out (Barkley out, Traore not settled) it massively shows. Still a couple of windows away from being fully equipped for me but we need to take advantage of Grealish while we have him and try spend in Jan.

Still roaming too much for me, CBs need to stay where they are in a back 4. Konsa and Cash are fine, it's the other side im worried about.

Start planning for Jan because below Troare who's first man on the bench, the rest are nowhere near prem standard.

This is what happens when you have internationals. Luiz, McGinn, Grealish, Troare all played a lot of football or had long flights back. Barkley fresh and gets injured in 2 mins.. pain.
