  1. I want Barkley for his ability to get closer to our opponents box, creativity and distance shooting. I want RLC to add a bit more physicality to our midfield as I feel we are very light weight and not great when we don't have the ball. RLC and Luiz could be a great CM combo that allows us to play Grealish in the middle and let the full backs go forward a bit more. The problem I have with McGinn is that I don't think he does either of them roles well. It doesn't look like we are getting a winger in so Jack is staying wide. Which one will compliment McGinn/Luiz better and balance the team? I think RLC will but we still look so sluggish in attack I want Barkley. Just buy them both, problem solved.
  2. Madness to sell this guy considering the state of some of our squad. He only played 25 games last season and I think he was involved in every win we had apart from 1 game, we looked more balanced with him in the team IMO.
  3. Just got a nice assist, has looked decent and is on corners now Neves has gone off. West Ham, Fulham, Leeds, Newcastle up next, luring me in this is.
  4. I'm not even sure he's going to have an impact off the bench, he has no pace to get by anyone and can't cross a ball. I think El Ghazi is a bit better at this but defensively Trez is much better. Neither of them should be starting, if we have to give them a run of games at any point we are in deep trouble.
  5. Yeh I did see this, Podence scores or does well he might get a bit of a run but its very risky and I'd rather someone locked in for a few games. Not many options around that price point though. KDB playing his way into my team over Sterling though, so many pens first two GWs.
  6. I don't want to move him from where he's playing well but god we lack so much going forward I'd rather he was trying to unlock defences as the other CMs can't do it.
  7. Very happy we won but that performance v 10 men was awful. No creativity or pace and needed a set play to score, we need another 2 attackers in as soon as possible. Hourihane and Trez need to be bench players at best if we are to start progressing. It was pretty much the same team as last season attack wise, doesn't make a difference who is up front if we don't create anything. Rashica or Barkley in soon hopefully.
  8. Good start for me on 153 points total and have two free transfer to roll with. Haven't been too impressed with Werner or Ings so far but both play WBA in the next two GWs so will hold tight for now. Auba has tough fixtures and Saint Max was a punt gone wrong so KDB/Sterling will be going in and if Pondence starts tonight and does well he's likely to be the other. Wolves have great fixtures and with the amount of pens being given out it's tempting to take one of the striker out for Jimenez.
  9. Very tough year for him, he joined a struggling team in Jan and was expected to score the goals. Moving country, adapting to the Premier League and a new team, COVID hit to make it even worse and then when we came back off lockdown we played very defensively in order to try and grind out some results. There's people ripping Baggies on Twitter because they might have an interest in him, I'm aware it's social media but I can't stand it. He never looked like he wasn't trying for us it just didn't work and to be honest we were a terrible side that didn't create a thing, granted he didn't help that part at all. With Wesley still out I'd keep him as a squad player. It's likely we go into the new season with Watkins as a main striker and a couple of wingers who might also be able to lead the line but behind that there's nothing.
  10. I still didn't think he'd finish it so it's a start! He might seem a bit old for a loan but I think a season away might really help him.
  11. They had a 17 year old league 1 keeper in goal, that's a lot different to running through on goal against a Prem keeper.
  12. Pay what they want and quickly, two pretty big games for us off the bat against Sheff Utd and Fulham and we need someone that isn't Grealish that can create something.
  13. We have had some pretty awful full backs supporting him over the last 12 months. He doesn't seem to have the pace to get by anyone but I'll give him a chance if he gets a run with Guilbert or Cash to see if they can help him. He's useful if he's on form but most of the time it's nowhere near good enough, same applies to Trez. I'd fully expect us to get two wingers in and then we see these guys off the bench.
  14. I think he's a great option when we need to play teams that we aren't going to have much of the ball against will be relying on counter attacking. He's better off the ball than he is on it, works hard, battles and makes the tackles. We don't have anyone else really like him so I'd 100% keep him.
  15. If he's against Trez/El Ghazi for a place he will be straight in.
  16. I'm not sure it's that, it's probably more to with the fact he's had two massive injuries in a couple of years and Steer hasn't exactly been fighting fit either. The problem is if Heaton is injured again its a massive drop off in quality that we can't afford. This is a lot of money for a keeper that's only played a handful of top flight games for Arsenal in 8 years but I highly doubt he's leaving to be a backup for us so I assume it's going to be his to lose if he does join.
  17. Im here for the 8pm draw, think we only have 6 though.
  18. I also don't believe that a striker trying to get back into the England team would want to play for Newcastle under Steve Bruce. We were awful and they massively over performed and we still scored 3 more goals than they did. They have a lower shots per game than us and the worst possession stats in the league. I don't care if he picks them, I think we can do better elsewhere but the last place a striker should want to end up is Newcastle.
  19. I'll be absolutely fuming if we let him go before Elmo and Taylor are off the books. He's a young, energetic forward thinking player and he's not scared to have the ball. If Cash is just a replacement for Guilbert then we haven't improved the squad at all.
  20. I certainly want some experience in but I don't personally think Wilson is someone I'd target. Anyone is going to be an upgrade on what we have but he's 28, only scored more than 8 prem goals a season once, 20m isn't a lot but I feel this could be better spent elsewhere.
  21. So, if the league starts and after the first round of games I'm bottom and then Messi signs for City I get first dibs on him? How long have I got to claim him if thats the case? I've joined the draft league and next Wednesday is fine with me.
  22. If he's classed as a midfielder I think he will be priced at 13.5m. Man City score the most goals and they will get even more with him in the team, does he also get pens? At 12-12.5m he's an automatic pick ahead of Salah/Auba. I did a draft when the game got released and will look again a couple of days before the seasons KOs. There's certainly a lot of options available of how to set up at the start though and it looks like most transfers won't be done before we get underway. I did prefer the market closing before the season last year.
