  1. Why are they silent on this issue though ? What have the got to lose if they actually state what they think ? My guess would be that they are aligned with American thinking, which presumably is based on the belief that peace cannot be sustained until there is a clear and definite winner, which can only be allowed to be Israel. Cameron is saying as little as possible and obviously instructing his MPs to do the same because he obviously wishes to avoid controversy; Warsi's resignation has scuppered that plan, somewhat. It seems likely that Cameron was hoping that once parliament opens on Sept 1st, the media and public will lose interest in Gaza, as we enter a 12 month period which will contain the Scottish referendum and a General Election, and during the interim he could avoid controversy or upsetting the Americans. OK, thanks. It's all a bit pathetic from Cameron. He likes to make himself out as some kind of family man etc while backing Israel, the 2 don't go togehter. Either denounce Israel for war crimes ór we should just assume he and his supporters are into children being blown to bits. SImple as that I think.
  2. I don't think David Brent and Andy Millman (his character from Extras) are the same character at all. I think the confusion comes from Gervais's style of comedy and his unique mannerisms, like when he says, 'Well...' at the start of all his sentences. I think he's a bit of an arrogant arsehole but I love The Office, Extras, The Ricky Gervais Show and An Idiot Abroad. I don't think Karl Pilkington is really as dumb or daft as he makes out though. I think he plays an exaggerated parody of himself, but it's funny so who cares? I think his work is up there with the best. The office from what I understand and the Brent character himself was not worked on for weeks and weeks, they just turned up with a few ideas and the Brent character was created on that first filming day by Gervais. If we look back in time at some of the people held up as comedy greats there work seems limited. Ask someone, do you know of Cook or Hancock, maybe. You ask if they have seen the office (any version ) and I suspect they have. The Ricky Gervais Show is probably one of my favourite TV series of all time. I re-watched it all over the last 2 weeks and Karl's film idea 1 and 2 are by far the funniest things I have ever watched. I mean, who the fu*k is Bryan and why is Ted Danson playing him ?
  3. I have a beagle and they make proper odd noises also, I think they have 3 voices (One for work (hunting), normal voice (bark) and some weird Yelp type thing)
  4. I used to like TalkSport but it is utter rubbish these days. It's basically a ManUtd channel these days with them getting excited it Man utd order a new photocopier. It has so many adverts I get confused and just forget to switch back when the adverts are on. Waste of time. As soon as they start talking about something interesting they go to a break and everything is sponsored, the news, the traffic and everything is brought to you by some sh1te company or other. AVOID.

  6. It's hard to find quality players on a small budget. Kozak, Bacuna and Okore all see to be good buys. Luna and Tonev, not so much, but what do you expect? I expect us not to sign crap players, but I can accept we will end up with our fair share or shit ones given the budget restrictions. However, it annoys me when we sign players who don't perform and instead of keeping them at the club or selling them, we loan them out and probably pay a portion of their wages as well. How do you expect other clubs to buy them once they have proven to be shit with us? I mean it's not even if they have proven to be shit at a top end CL club. In those cases the lesser clubs like us will still take a chance. If a player has proven to be shit with a lesser club like us then there aren't many other clubs below us going to be willing to take them Basically there is only one club stupid enough to buy them and give them contracts. A lot of these players were bought so it appears we are / were busy in the transfer market with a future sale (of the club) in the back of the owners mind.
  7. I usually watch most sport on TV. I think I have watch 10 mins in total of this Commonwealth Games. I think if it was somewhere else I would have maybe give it a go but I feel watching it with all the Tartan, blue flags and the constant "Well done X, what a win for Scotland "What about the atmosphere, did that drive you on etc etc." I unfortunately caught about 10 minutes of the closing ceremony, if the best you got is Lulu and (*Joey) Deacon Blue then it's time to shut the shop. *For all you 40 something Blue Peter fans out there :-)"
  8. I ignore pre-season results tbh. It is not a guide to future results and never will be with players and teams on different stages of pre-season, even a week or two difference means a league 2 side ahead in pre-season by a month could beat us (or anyone) on the day. Also, if the result means people get pessimistic what would happen if we beat Real Madrid or similar in a pre-season tournament or similar. Picking a choosing what to be optimistic about is the inherent trap and ultimate failing of pre-season games, we do not know if it was competitive, formations used or anything of real analytical value.
  9. It will be nothing more exciting than we get a few more draws at home rather than the horrific shameful loses of last season against what should be easy home win games. Other than that I see nothing to be excited about. Depends a lot on how the free transfers stack up and the effect of Keane will be interesting. This summer feels like a Doug summer I suppose with no real momentum going into the season with no prospect of competing week in week out. Looking at what the top 4 or 5 have done there is also zero chance of us rocking up to Anfield or similar and turning them over with surprise result IMO.
  10. New series The Strain - Based on a book. The earths day of reckoning I suppose. Highly enjoyable series so far, some good effects and I think whatever is going on is about to go global. 8/10 so far (ep05) The last ship - Based on a book. We are all dead apart from a small %, luckily this US warship was unaffected by a worldwide virus, really enjoying it do far, some parts are highly unbelievable but as a piece of entertainment all good. Some nice weapons and stuff on display also. 7/10 so far (ep06)
  11. I love excel, best piece of software I have ever used. Who is Mr Stein.
  12. I have been waiting for the new films for a while. It was very important that the Millenium Falcon is in the new film(s) as I have built one specifically to sell at around the time the film comes out. As far as models go I think it is up there with the best as I have endeavoured to make it a one of a kind in terms of paint, display box and electrics. The actual model is quite rare and my wife had it imported from Japan for me. I kept a photo diary of the build as a record for myself and hopefully any prospective buyers. I recently put in a proposal for a model build at the local coffee shop with good feedback and I would say a 80% + chance of getting the job @ around €2000. So fingers crossed. The pictures are all in drop box as there are far too many. Hope you like it. (If you know anyone who might like it, person or business then let me know please. I will obviously reward anyone who helps with the sale) The pictures are not in the right order and there is a lot as I wanted to show any buyer how it was created, no short cuts here. There are rust and marks on it that are 100% as the original ship in ROTJ. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gqvq6g05kpdic2h/AAD2xJpXwWvBpvvt9DyY72_Pa
  13. Good Post. I think it's a lot more basic than that. Israel get most of the criticism and rightly so because it's not a fair fight. I would not watch Mike Tyson vs Ronnie Corbet but the news thinks this is a relevant news item. No one likes a bully and cheat to win anything, right minded people in the world who don't believe in the sky fairies are also intelligent enough to know that a 7 foot bouncer who only beats up 2 foot midgets actually negates and nullifies one sides claim for a slightly more relevant invented fairy in the sky. You cannot act like that and say it's for some fairy, I would say that fairy is one fooked up fairy then and proves it don't exist and the more Israel fight the less credibility they have. Fight fair or not at all or move and be the grown up.
  14. The response from the "Leaders" in Europe needs to be something special today or I think a lot of people will just give up with them and the Europe thing. What's the point really, if people can blow planes out the sky and the best we get is "Cameron had a Frank discussion with Putin on the phone":- You can just imagine it: Cameron on loudspeaker, the russians all trying not to laugh or popping into the corridor to have a proper laugh. Why when he says "Frank" discussion I think Cameron is doing the Dick Emery "Ooo you are awful but I like" you gag This is what I imagine is going on so lets see the reality today. I hope I am miles off and he has been working on something over the weekend in regard to this so for now, benefit of the doubt for one more day.
  15. My Dutch has improved a lot in the last year or so. Not many meeting in English these days and I rarely need to ask what is going on. (Been here 14 years though ) I think a lot of people in the world speak Dutch but not so many that it is super useful, it does not transfer to South Africa for eg, it has too many differences. I have learnt it as I have gone along so no lessons but that means I cannot write or read it that well so I am going to college after the summer to learn it proper. My mrs who is Dutch can speak English so well I would be surprised if anybody can actually tell anymore she is not English. (I don't allow Dutch TV in my house if I am there as I do not allow adverts on my TV at any time). She also is 100% fluent in German, pretty good at French also. It seems that most Dutch people "Can just do it" when it comes to language, most say that the TV helped a lot in the early years as most of the TV programs are English with subtitles. They don't overdub the speech like the Germans do as it's a pathetic thing to do IMO. What I don't understand is how she can translate on the fly so to speak, so a translator but a lot better and faster from ENG to NED or vica versa. So not translating word for word, but will add a bit to make it more efficient.
  16. The Villa and Britain have been pretty much dying together over the last 15-20 years. Used to be something in the world, now both in the big scheme of things little players in a big world. Leaders: In 70 years we went from Churchill to a red faced gimp posh boy with questionable friends and no morals. Owners: One of the greatest football clubs in the world, bought as a toy for a Yank to play with like a cat with string, got bored. I think it works the same for almost every subject out there.
  17. "They lost," You all lost, none of you know it yet though but everyone else on the planet does. Trust me on this, if you argue for either side so vehemently then I suggest that there is no way to "WIN" for you or any of the participants. Even a Win is a loss, you lose more personally and morally than any piece of land could ever give you. Funny thing about maps, as with God(s) and religion in general, they are all by definition man made. They mean nothing.
  18. If any group of people in the modern world base their life (And their children's) and the underlying culture of a supposed country around the belief that there 0.01 % truth in any Gods existence, that alone means that any claim to any land or the collection of people involved to be classed as a "Nation" is 100 % false and nullified. Future reporting of any such conflicts and disagreements between groups such as this should be from a distance with the tone of such reports changed to reflect the lack of intellect of all parties involved. IMO
  19. I hate that the only thing worse than that is forgetting to turn your alarm off when you are off. After the age of 38, I wake up before 7.00 am no matter what I do, Even at weekends. I have been at work for 30 mins allready today. I wish I could stay in bed but age / medication ruins it.
  20. Exaggeration never appears on VT which is nice . I tried to play Snooker once for 24 hours, not happening. After driving home in Holland, trust me you don't really want to think about anything of any worth, 19 minutes of something with English in after a day of Dutch bolox is just what i need. Worked well for 15 years anyway :-)
  21. If I take my Villa glasses off, we are not that great a proposition IMO. We have no ambition and are one of the worst teams to actually watch in prem history at the moment. We will need a root / branch rebuild of the team as we have a great reserve team which replaced the 1st. We have maybe 2 or 3 players of any quality. We will be relegated real soon which is the problem, if deflation of asset value is around the next corner, why not wait. Nothing that has been said or done in the last few years make me think this will change. Lerner is not a football man and does not understand the game at all.
  22. Belgium TV remove Neighbours until the Tour is over. I like to watch this when I get in from work, (Margot Robbie has just left the program for example). I do not see the attraction in watching blokes on bikes sweat in a competition based in France.
