My CD player is designed for one task, my computer is designed to do lots of things. The CD player should sound better, and it does. I don't get it, the CD spins and reads it, then passes it to speakers or whatever. Digital reads it with no moving parts and does the same thing. Dunno, can you tell blindfold what is playing ? (If your life depended on it :-)) Just trying to understand this concept. Its Friday, bear with me :-)

I see what you mean, I just think they are probably better prepared for storage than the average person. If they are in data centers then it basically untouchable unless a plane lands directly on the building.

^^^ Just keep things in the cloud so to speak and it lasts forever. The idea is to remove the physical element completely I would have thought. I can't remember the last time I used physical storage media (USB / CD / DVD/ ) and I am struggling to think of a reason why one would these days ? There must be reasons for some people though.

I watched the 1st episode. Its weird, they fast forward through the best bits and we are suddenly 15 years on. The 1st year is where the action is but a handy plot device as that is going to cost more to make. They always take the easy option. Instead of guns and killing it will be plant pot filling. Meh. It seems to rip off hunger games as well.

Watched "Dark Shadows" the other day. 5/10, absolute toss. However, I left the mrs alone with the remotes last night for 30 seconds and had to have "The 1st wives club" on easily one of the worst things I have ever had the misfortune of glimpsing at. So bad it made me feel ill and I had to go outside. 1/10. It gets a 1 only becasue of Goldie Hawn other than that, oxygen thieves the lot of em.

I don't know how people can even care about this shit. But........ I would rather a 10 billion people arguing about things that exist than 1 person receiving anymore oxygen to talk about their particular god and why he is the best this week. At least these things exist and are not complete made up. When compared to the religious arguments the Apple / Samsung / football teams / political rows actually look quite intelligent IMO. In the end, does anyone die, nope not really.

^^^^^ A lot of people do this at work, it's retarded but usually found with birds not blokes in my experience. (Think the baby / aaaaah voice etc from women etc).

I am quite pleased and until we see the all play a few games no one really knows how it will pan out. From what I have read on here over the last few days I can only assume we have a lot of VT members who are top scouts and watch these players week in week out. I bow down to their superior knowledge, I feel kind of bad now getting excited and hopeful. The moaners and whiners obviously have coaching badges coming out their ears also and just know the players we have bought are rubbish. Lets give the Villa a chance, I think we have done well tbh. Better than most IMO.

I think it really depends on who is on the slab, I suggest if it was a Police Officer that had been murdered during a riot or similar the treatment and assessment of the dead body would be more like the testing and care of a Alien in area 52 tended around the clock until they got the answer to the question they need for a confiction. Normal person, the tyre kicking example is probably as much as we could ever hope for, if we died at the hands of the old bill, any bin bag will do and **** it in the skip outside.

I was at the game and too be honest both teams were a bit rubbish but I have seen enough football and AVFC in my life to know there is nothing to be worried about, in fact I was pleased with how we started. Changing from the previous style of play to a visually appealing and effective type of football will take time, we might get results like this for a few more games yet. Changing the style from A to B in our situation is the equivalent of going from playing heads and tails with a quid to learning chess. Takes time, if people don't like what they could see on Saturday, don't fín well watch it then or get a grip one of the 2. I drove from Amsterdam to London and back in a day to watch the Villa, I loved it. 'New players, new hopes and all that. I suppose though, the relegation threads on the Man Utd / Liverpool sites are just the same eh OP ?

Yeah right. So those idiots that were mocking Stan is acceptable then? I was at the game and I managed to get tickets in possibly the worst seats on the planet. I was in the seats to the left of our away fans in the upper. Basically I was standing with the very worst of the West Ham scum. The idiots you refer to, I had around all around me, about 200 of the clearings in the woods. Now I have been to a lot of grounds and I have been in a lot of away ends but these are without doubt the biggest collection of oxygen thief's I have ever come across, most are 30-40 years old and a lot of them have their "Girlfriends"with them which is a bit strange. If I had a Mrs like them I would keep em in the cellar on a **** leash. Pretty strange really, I could not and would not say a word all game. One word and I would not have made it out of there I am 100 % sure. A few thoughts about the West Ham scum, 1) They don't care or even watch the football, they were really attracted to the bald/ fat Villa fan who was taking the piss out of them all game. 2) they know nothing about the rules / tactics of the game 3) They are racist scum and like singling songs about the color of players 4) They think there ground is ace when in reality it is a toilet with a lot of seats 5) Their little firm would get destroyed by anyone, Small Heath would take this lot apart in 10 mins. Although we lost I came out thinking I had won, West Ham have got these clearings in the woods for life. Long drive though in a day, Amsterdam to West Ham and back. Left at 6.00 am and was in at 11:45. Had a new A7 Audi to go in so not all bad. The things fly man.

Wear some headphones and get a tablet or something. (Like ipad not XTC). Its the looking at a screen that confuses the idiots, don't look at your work PC is the trick. I have the same problem at my work. (I sat on the roof today to look at Schipol Airport for a bit becasue they will not leave me alone)

Just finished "Plague Year" by Jeff Carlson. Part of a trilogy. Reading the next one now "Plague war" Really quite enjoying them as some things that happen are just amazing. (Its about nano technology and there really is quite a good premise. If humans worldwide can only survive over 10,000 ft then there is always going to be a cafuffle)

What did you think of the ending? I posted a few pages back about it. I was quite disappointed. Pretty anticlimactical. The trilogy is a good read though. *Spoilers* Really thought they were good, I read them real quick as well which is always a good sign. They hang together quite well but I always felt the ending was going to be difficult. In an ideal world she would have got hold of Snow after the bit with her sister (Which was a bit upsetting) in combination with Hatmitch(?) and had some fun but that's the point I suppose of the books. They were moving away from that sort of environment and into a new phase so that would have left the book with a nasty taste, especially for younger readers. On the whole the ending was as good as it could be if it wanted to finish the journey properly.

I don't even have a car just to do a few more peoples heads in I gave it up becasue of the costs + I get 2 hours reading time a day. I live 200 M from the former formula 1 track in Holland also and have gone round that a few times when I get the need for speed. Expensive though.
