For me though a successful swoop for Rodgers would speak volumes for the new owners, he won't be easy to get, he won't come cheap, and will take some convincing we and the new owners are the real deal - Just hope its not some rookie from the back of beyond, who has done good things at youth level or an assistant - Think the owners have to realise that getting a top bloke in won't be easy - but restoring villa (or any club) isn't easy - appointing a fresh faced out of work work rookie and chucking £20m at him won't cut it.

I would disagree, he was getting right panning by the commentators on WM. I can't remember the press openly 'going for' a villa manager perhaps DOL and Joe Venglos . I know the results aren't good enough - but just looking at the results they aren't actually that bad either - we are not getting walloped 4 or 5 every week - thats not to defend Bruce - just as to why the press haven't got on his back. Yeah this looks like the end for Bruce. I have (and still do to an extent) support him. Big moment for the new owners - despite all the flak and wanting a 'progressive' manager , it would be very very easy to appoint someone worse than Bruce - I just don't see a novice like Arteta or Henry working. The owners talk about a statement of intent how about an approach for Brendan Rodgers - a "we are not taking no for an answer" approach - Eddie Howe , Sean Dyche - to progress we have to get a manager that is deemed 'ungettable' - an untested rookie won't cut it for me. Nathan Jones as a left field option.

I think the EU has won the phoney war The initial 'give us what we want or we will walk away with no deal' looks to be on thin ice. Always likely, as though the EU will miss our financial input - they aren't prepared to radically alter what they do to get the UK onside. In fact looking back on the whole thing, I don't see we have gained much from the negotiations - the EU seemed to have stuck to their guns and have had to shift. How did the ref not see that stamp on him - I saw it from the DE stand, and was convinced a red was coming - actually I think he must have seen it but bottled it.

I know we scored in the last 15 secs. But I thought we were vastly superior to Brentford - they couldn't get out of there own half in the first 45 minutes. I think the constant fouls on Grealish, Mcginn , Kjodia eventually threw us off our stride. I can't see Brentford getting another ref like they had tonight.

Ive have to go the eye clinic tomorrow - I think tonights ref should accompany me:- The Kjodia run into the box - looked a decent shout for a penalty - I gather the handball was almost stonewall He missed a blatant stamp and allowed a free for all kick in on Mcginn (the guilty player then scored for brentford) Amazingly at one stage we led on bookings 3-1 - Kjodia was carded for first his offence - whilst grealish was hacked at all night - and it seemed open season on tugging kjodia shirt Unusual that all those things go against you - one of those in our favour and I feel sure we would have one the game.
