Whats the timescale for today then ? - when would expect to hear something ? My feeling is if we get to 2.30 - 3.00pm than that would point towards Brucie staying. 11.59 now - Anything could happen in the next half hour as they used to stay on Stingray !

Whenever a manager is sacked everyone says 'ah well xxx is lined up' - strange as it seems very often clubs sacks manager with no replacement in the wings. From what people tweeted the talks with Henry were very tentative - no transfer budget or salary was discussed

Even if we do want Henry - there is no mad rush IMO - By the time he has a contract signed and is ready to go - the transfer window will be set to slam shut. If they wanted to bring him in and give to time to bring in a few players I don't think they would have waited over a week - every day would have been a day wasted. Sure they might want to be honourable and sack Bruce face to face - but time was\is of the essence they could have phoned him or get a villa official to deliver the news.

Think people get carried away with HS2 - it gets people to london 20 minutes quicker than we can currently. Thats it. If you think a whole load of major companies are going to relocate to Birmingham, because of that ?

I still think Henry is highly probable - but perhaps in a few weeks - not days. When new owners come in, sure they want there own man - but tend to stick with the incumbent in the short term, perhaps because there is so much to sort out.

My theory is that they probably want Henry - but might give Bruce a very short term benefit of the doubt - also Nixon is suggesting that paying out his contract might be an issue for FFP - Perhaps when the season is underway and the new owners have completed there review, and we have a bit of money banked from player sales - Henry would probably still be available , and they move then.

Is it ? - and why would this be factor in owning a football club ? - would they still brought us if this massive growth in Birmingham wasn't happening ? - this is a little like the assumption that Xia was going to rebuild Aston , ....based on nothing at all

Yes I can see that point - our play in the final third was woeful for much of last season. But for me there is no knowing how badly wrong it could go, a rookie untested manager, with a load of players that are probably the polar opposite of how he wants to play the game. I think we should stick with SB and be trying to poach Nathan Jones from Luton, if a young promising manager is what we are after. But Henry a week before the season starts .......well...not for me !

Thats very subjective though. If we were 4th bottom - But if Doyle-Hayes and Hepburn Murphy were playing well in the first team - is that signs of something sustainable ?

Part of what bothers me is if he bombs big time in the first few weeks. Henry is an Arsenal Legend and if we beleive what we read our new owners are regulars at Arsenal would they have the balls to sack an arsenal legend ? Also - I can't see Henry being in place before the weekend - that leaves him approx 2 weeks to bring some players in - If he doesn't, He will be working with someone elses players, which may buy him even more time, - I don't want Henry - but fear he will get a free pass for the first season whatever the results.

Seriously folks I thinks it has got disaster written all over it. As if that isn't bad enough we would have put up with all his excuses "well that was before I arrived" "the players weren't fit enough" - and then of course with new owners being a bit green, he will probably get a £3m payout when we sack him. Same criteria for any manager - if he wins games I will like him - if he doesn't I won't - no excuses
