  1. 100% this . Is it that difficult to scout a half decent GK, instead weve ended up with these 2 clowns
  2. Need to get him back asap if hes up for it. We need his organisation skills as we look a total shambles. I know tonights match is a 2nd string but im not getting too much confidence from the 2 league games weve played either.
  3. Peter Sallis ( Last of the Summer Wine) June Whitfield ( AbFab etc) Matt Healy ( The band `1975`... My young choice) Bruce Forsyth Michael Parkinson
  4. We could have Lukaku and Benteke up front but with zero midfield creativity we are not going to score a ton of goals, we need some bodies to pull the strings
  5. Any idea if there will be a long sleeve option ?
  6. Swindon away was pretty scary, lots of fans turned up without tickets (including me). The main gate to the away end was forced open and a stampede ensued with the police in the end cramming as many supporters into the away end rather than have hundreds of Villa supporters roaming about outside. Probably the most scariest thing i have seen at a football match
  7. Mike, you may remember some years ago Bashley made there way up through the leagues and i think nearly made it to the Conference. But i know there was quite a lot of money thrown at it to achieve what they did. (Its not a certain team that is about a mile up the road from me is it)
  8. The comparison is interesting. Gabby and Bolt are the same age (29); Bolt's peak was in 2009 and Gabby's peak was the 2008-9 season. The idea that a bit of body-building changed his body forever, is definitely wrong: ask any body-builder and they will tell you how difficult it is to maintain muscle-mass. From the moment Gabby emerged as a youngster it was well-known that he was very limited technically but play a ball in front of him and he would lose the defender and have a shot on goal: he was never a great finisher but on his day he could be very effective. When he was moved out wide and played deeper to shore up Villa's defensive weakness at left-back, his starting position favoured the defender and his pace was less effective. My view is that he was always a very limited player whose main attribute was squandered to make up for the shortcomings of a team with defensive problems and in decline. His loss of pace means that he needs to adapt is game to compensate, which I don't think he is capable of, or his starting position needs to altered to take his loss of pace into account. I'll never believe he has the attributes required of a winger. He gained most his weight over the course of a preseason, you cannot tell me that was his body naturally growing up. Why not compare him to H.A.A, his coaches had to change his training regime as he was putting on too much size and it was hindering him. The leaner version was quicker, our fitness coach noticed it and fans noticed it. I'd also wager that Gabby wasn't doing exercises to build his power and speed that resulted in his size, it was a lot of bench and arm size which translates to unnecessary kilos added to every stride. I'm familiar with both body builders and athletics coaches by the way. Genuine question. Why are all 100m sprinters built like brick shithouses then? A lot of the guys are naturally that frame and probably more likely to be quick, but they train very specifically for it and every ounce they put on is for power and stability. so fast explosive movements are all they do, which can build a lot of mass but it's all in view of making them perfectly efficient. Someone like the French 100m champion Chistophe Lemaitre is slim, has a lot of power but it's all concentrated. If he were to decide to put on 10-15kg of muscle it would completely throw off his rhythm and obstruct the natural motions of his limbs. If it was also slow movements like bench press, squats etc then the muscle he builds will also have no effect on the ability to create force and propel him further, quicker. ok thanks

  10. i have flown out of Sharm el Sheikh on several occasions, most recently 3 weeks ago. The security going through check in is an absolute joke and do not follow the international airport rules that are in place. This last time i thought id try my luck with 2 large bottles of water and a bottle of coke in my hand luggage, straight through no probs. Then walked through the security arch with phone, wallet and loose change and was lightly frisked by the security guard while he had a fag hanging out his mouth lol. If they are this casual with the hand luggage they must be as bad with the hold luggage as well so it wouldnt surprise me if we hear that was the cause. As for the perpetrators, i read that there were 3 Ukrainians on board the plane, would they be possible suspects as opposed to the obvious IS links ?
  11. Would Flores jump ship from Watford, could be an option.
  12. Thats a surprise.............................surprise. Thought id get it in first
  13. got through on the phone finally this morning and said today would be the last day for posting tickets out
  14. Bit of a long shot i know, but is anybody from the Bournemouth/ London area going up to VP on Wednesday for tickets and are prepared to get 2 for me and my son as they are not posting any more tickets out. Either that or meet anyone outside Wembley. We only have a 1 match history unfortunately. Cheers UTV
  15. Wrong way round...... Everton - Protestant Liverpool - Catholic You used to get the woolly hats in the early 90s that were half Liverpool and Celtic and half Everton and Rangers.
  16. I for one would be happy with Jesus. He is known to work miracles and has experience dealing with crosses.. Nailed on certainty
