  1. People need to cut Buendia some slack, you have to remember that no one else in the squad is on his wavelength…
  2. I’m pleased for him as I would be for any Villa supporter who can make it their ‘job’ producing content and talking about Aston Villa. Good luck to him!
  3. It was based statistically. The thing that I do like about Pete is that he gives his opinion, I don’t always agree with it but it’s his opinion rather than just being safe. It’s the way to drive traffic for his channel, I think you do have to try and watch/listen to views that differ to your own, even if just for balance.
  4. Well I don’t like Purslow, so everything the club does that I don’t like is his fault, and everything I do like is because of NSWE.
  5. Would Goncalves count as home grown from his time with Wolves? That was where he signed his first professional contract.
  6. I’m going to bump this at 18:44, just to be a d*** so you think he’s been picked…
  7. It’s Sweden I feel sorry for, he’s the best they have!
  8. “After Emi Martinez came off following a poor first half, Unai Emery had the good fortune of being able to call on the Sweden colossus Robin Olsen. Olsen came straight into the action with a monster display between the posts, you could see the confidence he gave to the Aston Villa defence upon his arrival.”
  9. So how do they increase matchday income then?
  10. If we want to compete financially against the teams at the top then we have to increase our matchday income. Ticket prices have to rise, it’s s*** but it’s the way it is.
  11. Where did Gregg say that? He said it’s possible but pretty unlikely on the 1874 podcast with Dan Bardell.
  12. Was that his best game in a Villa shirt today?
  13. Oliver George Arthur Watkins, I bow down to your greatness!
  14. F*** it, I’m on the Bert Traore train, go and fire us to Europe!
  15. If, and it’s a big IF with the great form that they are in this season, we beat them then I hope we do a trolling team photo in the changing room afterwards. That’ll really boil the geordie’s p***! I love it that they hate us, I was there when they got relegated in 2009, and I laughed like everyone else did. Because of course had the shoe been on the other foot, they wouldn’t have mocked us or given us ANY s*** at St James’ Park about it right? Big babies, it’s football, get over it! I’d love a win, I’ll be more than happy with a draw though as Eddie Howe has transformed them into a very good side.
  16. A real shame that Brighton’s win tonight keeps Aston Villa stuck in the Bottom 14, while Chelsea’s draw maintains their place in the top 11…
  17. While I don’t think it was in any way deliberate, if a player EVER scored an own goal on purpose then I would never want that player to wear our shirt again. Regardless of how popular or unpopular the current manager is/was, that would be unforgivable in my eyes.
  18. Not that I’m saying that I want him, but he is the sort of player that Unai Emery works with and makes them one of the best players in that position in their respective league. I’d guarantee that if we signed him, within 12 months United fans would be looking on asking where was this player when he played for them?
  19. I would challenge that the like-ability comes hand in hand with winning football matches, we all love the 18/19 promotion team for example. Would we find this team as likeable if they were sat bottom of the table? That said, this current team are working so hard and deserve all the plaudits and love that they are currently getting. It’s just a great time to be an Aston Villa fan right now.
  20. Even as a Watkins ‘supporter’ or whatever other label you would use, it is fair to say that his output had dropped off. No need for anything smug or any “I told you so’s”, let’s just enjoy that OUR striker is scoring regularly as well as leading the line for us while we are in great form. Unai Emery has took Ollie’s game to another level.
  21. Fair play, John McGinn is playing at his absolute peak currently, looks fit as a butchers dog and well worth his place in our midfield imo. If he can keep up this current form, he could save us some money in the summer too, 6 months ago he looked like his Villa career was coming to an end but I would not replace this version of SJM at all.
