  1. Also, a poll on what they think the outcome will be:
  2. Obviously there are always some idiots, but maybe look out for this: And further morons: However, some examples of more reasoned views:
  3. I should have been doing some work this morning, so found a way to distract myself. As fans of other clubs have done from time to time on here, I thought it would be interesting to sign up for one or two Liverpool fan forums and gauge their thoughts on the game, as well as Villa and their own club in general. I may do this on a regular basis, for each fixture we play - but we'll see how this goes first. Obviously all clubs will have fans with mixed views and I'll try to offer a balance, at the same time trying to determine what the consensus is regarding certain issues. I've posed the following questions (see quote box below), but will also take snippets of their general discussions. I'll post examples of answers that I think are interesting in the thread, but also give an overview of responses in this post (and update it if necessary). So, after a couple of hours, most Liverpool fans seem to think they will get the win today, which will give them a huge boost in confidence given our first two games this season. Still seems to be a nervous excitement, much like what we are feeling here - they are aware that they will need to take their chances. Many are worried about Benteke and aware that Gabby is in form, although several fans are banking on Touré using his intelligence (rather than simple strength) to keep Benteke quiet, as he did against Stoke. Some fancy Enrique to keep Gabby quiet, others aren't so sure, and a few are suggesting that 3 at the back will be the best way to play against us. Cissokho could start, but most think he won't. Mixed views on some players, such as Lowton, who many praise but others have singled out as a potential weak link at the back, particularly if he's targeted by Coutinho. They feel that although our own attack will be difficult to handle, their own speed trickery going forward will be too much for our defence (Coutinho, Aspas, Sturridge all posing threats in this respect). 'Tight game' is a common view. Most are hoping Henderson starts ahead of Allen, as he's quicker and more energetic, which they realise will be important against Villa as they'll need to press and work hard against us. However, the fact that we played in midweek leads most Reds fans to believe that they'll come out on top in this regard over the ninety minutes. Lambert is generally popular and they like what he's doing with the side. Compliments made about VP when rocking, but others stating that it can also be very dull when things aren't going our way. They see fourth and a good cup run as a successful season for them, and generally top half as one for us, which they see as entirely achievable. Most common scores out of 10 for how much they like us seem to be 6/7, owing much to the Lambert effect and the fact that many see us as an established club who they didn't want to go down last year.

I'm bored of Mourinho already. I didn't like him in Spain, but thought that he'd return to England and be quite entertaining in a more mellowed-out way, after learning from his mistakes in Madrid. He's a very, very good manager and controversy can create entertainment. However, I was very wrong to think his return would somehow be a boost for football in this country - he's just so bloody pretentious, irritating and loathsome, but in a truly 'pantomime villain' sense, and the media lap up his every word.
  5. I'd take the OS stats with a pinch of salt.
  6. Stefan and GreatNoel finish squaring up and succumb to a drunken stupor
  7. I wish I could keep my crotch that well trimmed. If I win a lot of money, I'll employ the Villa ground staff.
  8. What is it with you Swedes and Queen?
  9. Brad has the least letters, if that's any help I think just '1' will suffice.
  10. One of the joys of living in Lincoln was watching them train on a regular basis.
  11. Especially nice dipped in a cup of hot tea.
  12. Is there something wrong with me if I find chocolate hobnobs really tasty?
  13. I'd be afraid that she'd vault my pole a little too violently.
  14. Don't know about a sticky, or if there'd be many wanting to update it, but you could always ask the mods and see what the response is from users. Are there not other sites that would be better options if you're simply looking for recommendations, though?
  15. I might tattoo his name onto my penis.
  16. Decent result. Totally in control throughout the game, but it would have been nice to tuck at least one of the other chances away to allow for some breathing space. Convincing performance nonetheless.
  17. That's brilliant! Brad is such a hero.
  18. Yeah, this observational comedy lark will never take off
  19. Sky are shit at updating stuff, based on the fact that they still have only three Champions League places on the Bundesliga table on their Score Centre. Probably something that should be in the "Things that piss you off..." thread, because it really annoys me every time I see it.
  20. Should really be more than one up, here. 24 shots on goal for BVB so far. Hopefully they'll tuck another away sooner rather than later, but they are looking good.
  21. Yeah, I don't think it's that the players won't go. They're an established Champions League club based in London. As LL said, the issue is with the transfer fees (although apparently Arsène is very stringent in terms of finances across the board).
  22. At least FIFA 14 will be free with the Xbox One, but yes, for other games it presents a bit of a dilemma.
