  1. good time for man city to play real madrid though. Definitely looking forward to it!
  2. don't worry terry I know what you're saying and I'm with you on that one. Holman acts like a cement that keeps the bricks together, and messi is just the most amazing brick in the world, but if you only ever have fancy brick work, no ones left to keep an eye on how they're supposed to stick together and without cement, the building falls down. 8)
  3. He's looked decent, him and Bent could do with a goal or two for confidence, but yeah, more threatening than nathan d was.
  4. Enjoy the anniversary and Mallorca Mike
  5. I think we've got a manager who's better attuned to the risk of burn out, and also, we've got a couple more players in the squad who can come in now - Herd for one.
  6. feel sorry for Shay as he's a good guy to have but happy for Brad! Expect Shay to move on in Jan, maybe to Arsenal on a short term deal??
  7. I'm sure he will as he learns but sounds like an improved performance again today? I do like this lad.
  8. celtic lose would be so funny if they didn't win the spl without rangers there.
  9. Staying settled, no bad thing I suppose, integrate the new players casually. 3 strikers on the bench
  10. cautiously optimistic. I know we'll have a good game, but don't know if we'll get the 3 points. Swans are missing a couple of defenders so hopefully that will help.
  11. S1-4 of 24 are great, especially 1-3. I mean it is generally ludicrious in situations but plausible enough for the first lot, but then they start taking the piss with season 5, which really pushed it and I lost patience with S6, which just really annoyed me. I eventually forced myself to watch the rest of when S7 came round, but I got bored again and still not watched 8. So yeah, the silliness is watchable for the first lot, but then for me it just starts going too far.
  12. was gilles de bilde pre or pot nillis? either way we've not have much luck with the belgians so far.
  13. the sooner islamic culture grows the **** up and accepts freedom to comment and satire the better, though sadly I don't expect it to happen anytime soon. The Christians still go a bit loopy, and they've been round longer. Personally I have no wish in drawing mohammed, but for those who do, one ought to be free from the risk of death. Violent cowards. Undoubtedly fundamentalist in nature, but I do wonder how just how many moderates there actually are in these countries...
  14. urgh. luxemburgs last minute equaliser just cost me £90. hope northern ireland crash and burn. ****.
  15. I've had the dreaming thing before it happened - it's spooky but also awesome. Anyway, as usual xkcd captures the bonker dream sensation well : edit: here's the link http://xkcd.com/430/ Personally, the most disturbing one I had twice in a short spell, was going into a dark stairwell, responding to a noise, investigating, I can sense something bad is going to happen, and as I look back and forth down a pitch black corridor, I go to turn around and feel/hear the sound of a bullet hitting me in the temple. I feel an unstable sensation, aware that I'm about to die, but time appears to have slowed right down. I am overcome by a very warm sensation, possibly the blood flowing out of my head, and then just as I feel I'm about to go somewhere I wake up. Both times my hear rate was racing, I mean seriously, sweating all over and as I got out of bed to wander round I could barely walk. Fortunately just happened the twice but really felt like I understood that split-second sensation of death approaching. I was calm in the dream as it unfurled in slo-mo, but yeah. So anyway...
  16. getting so close to finishing my dissertation... well I have but who knew editing and arsing about with shit like formatting could be so frustrating. I just want it done. Hopefully, off to the binders tomorrow to get it all done, and then this friday, I will be enjoying some single maltt whiskey saved for the occasion. So close, and still petrified something is going to go wrong, like a virus specific to my memory stick and pc - ive emailed updates to 3 email accounts about ten times today out of sheer paranoia ffs.
  17. I could recognise 2% of the musicians i listen too, including those ive seen live. Easy to do if you dont watch any music programmes. Had no idea who that was eithrt.
  18. Hooray! Amazing quite the mental comeback in the 5th after losing the 2 sets lead. The wait is over. Now time to get wimbledon
  19. ah right, fair enough! in that case, i think wiggins
  20. such a mentally strong character. wiggins will get spoty even if murray wins this which just reflects ana amazing year of british sport really. 9/10 murray wins it hands down, but theolympics buggers that up. cavendish wont win.
  21. thinking about it, is he called up cause the u21s were playing tonight and hodgson didn't wish to disrupt them?
  22. congratulations gifmeister! how long do you have left where you are?
  23. he's just called up lallana, sterling and livermore into the england squad. barely know any of them except that lallana played well for saints in the lower leagues. Fresh faces I suppose
