  1. Wasn't sure whether to post this in the Man City thread, but i think it probably sits better here. @sidcowPerhaps the year should be taken out of the title of the thread. In the light of the news on Man City theres a great article on FFP by Martin Samuel Click click, read all about it MARTIN SAMUEL: Financial Fair Play is just a UEFA protection racket... this is payback by the elite clubs who hate Manchester City Manchester City did wrong but Financial Fair Play is designed to protect UEFA City have been banned from European competition for the next two seasons City did wrong but in the face of rules that are there to protect a privileged elite Consider models of Manchester City and Manchester United and recent success Financial Fair Play was corrupted by those at the top from when it was created
  2. Its pathetic, absolutely pathetic and its spoiling the game. You then have an ex referee on BT's panel defending it !!!!!!!!

    Tickets

The odd single ticket is appearing every now and then. Just looked and theres 1 in K2, 1 in K3 and a couple of others in Doug Upper. Shame really as i want 2 together. I'm not prepared to sit miles apart.
  4. Well, its not looking like this will go on sale to members with 8 games or more next Tuesday. Almost sold out !!!!! Going to be a lot of disappointed fans out there....
  5. Maybe it's time for another unique thread for these type of vids????
  6. Making a Murderer - Netflix Just finished series 1, 10 episodes of an hour each. Intriguing, gripping, remarkable, incredible and unbelievable tale of American justice. A must If you like your real life crime, murder, court room stories. Just moving on to series 2 now and another 10 episodes.
  7. Are you Jack's agent trying to get him a move? Not every player will think that playing in the Champions League is the holy grail you know.
  8. If we stay up why? Maybe, maybe not. Only time will tell. It depends on the ambition of the owners and taking us to the next level they keep telling us about. They have already stated that they want to build a team around him.
  9. I've said it before, if we stay up it will be a massive test on the real ambition of the owners in taking us to the next level. So far they are doing the right things, improving the training ground, team etc. Will they pay the top players the wages, 100k/150k/200k per week to compete?? Thats a big question mark. Stay up, give Jack a new 200k per week contract, buy better players etc and he has a chance of staying. Intriguing. Go down and he's gone, simple as that.
  10. Empty seats m’lord, empty seats !!!!!
  11. I'm surprised people still listen to Talkshite !!!! Let go, you will feel a lot better from doing it. Undoubtably there will be a lot of interest in Jack regardless of our Premier League status. The ambitions of our owners will be put to a massive test next season. Purslow is on record as saying they want to build a team around him. If we stay up the so called big boys will come knocking and testing the water. Will Jack's head be turned when the likes of Man City, Liverpool and whoever else comes along and offers Champions League football and perhaps more importantly a massive pay rise of say 200k per week. What will our owners do? Offer him a new contract of what, 60, 80, 100, 150k per week? Will we be able to compete with 200k per week? Will we break a wage structure? Stay up and surely we will be bringing in better players but i dont think we will be paying players 100k plus a week in wages let alone 200k. Maybe in the future but not just yet.
  12. Cancelled til next year !!!!! hopefully this virus malarkey will have cleared up.... Bit of a polar opposite i know but now looking at Majorca, Sant Ponsa for two weeks in May. Fancy a bit of spring sunshine and some warmth
  13. Well, to help get cars off the road, and if Andy Street (Villa fan) is to be believed. He has a 20 year plan to implement the following.... https://www.itv.com/news/central/2020-02-04/billion-pound-transport-plans-proposed-for-west-midlands-include-underground-lines-and-21-new-rail-stations/ (The West Midlands Mayoral elections are on the 7th May this year so this plan comes with a vote grabbing warning) Billion pound transport plans for West Midlands include underground lines and 21 new rail stations It would be brilliant if it came off though.
  14. Where you getting train prices from? I e just done a search for you on The Trainline for two adults all as an open return. 09.02-10.56 - £91.70 09.11-12.16 - £30.60 09.32-11.36 - £73.60 Last two Wembley trips for me the train has been a nightmare....I’ve traveled from Tamworth and it’s standing room only. It’s even worse On the way back Euston is a nightmare. The platform for the train is not announced until the last minute and it’s a stampede to get onto the platform. Then it’s a scramble getting on the train. Getting a seat is not easy. I’m surprised nobody gets injured. If you don’t mind driving then checkout my post in the pubs thread. There’s a pub with a car park 2 stops from Wembley.

  16. It appears that the club have listened to feedback and have changed the criteria for members who have attended games. For members it now starts at 8 matches attended. This is a far better system and fair play to the club for listening to the fans and changing this.
  17. You can dress it up as much as you like. 8 points from a possible 39 away from home is woeful and partly the reason why we are where we are.
  18. I'm not sure where you get that we have improved from? Our away for is appalling. Not a single clean sheet all season. Not one. That's a damming stat !!!!!! We currently have 25 points. 17 points from home matches and 8 from away matches. Take a look at the tables and it will tell you everything. We are in 19th position overall for away games. P 13 - W 2- D 2 - L9 - F 16 - A 26 - Points 8 We are in 14th position overall for home games. P 12 - W 5 - D 2 - L 5 - F 16 - A 21 - Points 17 We have a soft under belly and some how or another the team have to start to grind out matches and start keeping clean sheets. Sadly it's something we never really look like doing. We are putting ourselves under so much pressure to do well in our home games. A Win or draw against Bournemouth would have taken some of the pressure off the Spurs game. Now it's a must win.
  19. Exactly this.... We have only kept 4 clean sheets all season and we are the only team in the Premier league who have not kept a clean sheet away from home. Shocking. For us to stay up we are clearly going to have to rely on our home form as i just cannot see our away form improving. We need to take points from the so called big boys, Spurs, Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea. Our defenders are too 'casual' in there approach and try to play the ball out of defense far too often when sometimes the better option is to hoof it away as the legend Paul McGrath did.
  20. I watched all of the game and it was poor and annoyingly frustrating. Having watched us against Watford and the two games against Leicester i was highly optimistic. Thinking if we play like that against Bournemouth we can get three points, play like it for the rest of the season and we will not be relegated. Well, i was bought back down to earth with a big bump. We went back into awful mode where we could not pass a ball, could not compete physically, could not cross a ball, could not shoot on target and yet again could not defend. Too many players were not at the required standard. You can get away with one or two having an off day but when that balance is tipped to seven/eight having an off day there is no where to hide. It's all too familiar this season hence why where we are. I have given Dean Smith a very poor in the match poll. Once Bournemouth had gone down to ten men he got the tactics totally wrong. We were chasing the game and did not need to play 3/5 at the back. Hause should have gone off for Davis. Five at the back was just not required, We are not relegated on the back of this result but we are in one hell of a scrap where our home form will have to save us as we are truly atrocious on our travels. We are the only team not to keep a clean sheet away from home in the premiership. Quite a damming stat that is. We can do it, but we need the Villa who played against Leicester, Burnley and Watford to turn up far more often than they are !!!!
  21. For last seasons play off final I went to The Windermere on the outskirts of Wembley. It was full of Villa supporters. There were two coaches parked up there. Great atmosphere with out it being ten deep at the bar. It's a big pub with plenty of room and it's right next door to South Kenton overground station, less than 10 mins and two stops to Wembley Central.
  22. Below is the response i had back from the club. It's pretty much as i expected, but as i said i would post it here it is. unfortunately we will not be changing the criteria. We appreciate your feedback though. It is one ticket per fan ID - those with both membership and a season ticket will only be entitled to one ticket. So, its join the mad scramble on the 18th at 5pm
