  1. Heres one on BBC 4 tonight and available on iPlayer now i'll be watching. Total Trust: Surveillance State Storyville A Storyville documentary that explores, in intimate detail, state surveillance and digital social control in China by following the experiences of two families and a journalist. Zijuan Chen is fighting for the release of her imprisoned husband, human rights lawyer Weiping Chang, while trying to keep his memory alive for their son. Wenzu Li and her newly freed husband, Quanzhang Wang, struggle against surveillance that is not only stopping him from being able to work but also affecting ordinary tasks like taking their son to school. Journalist Sophie Xueqin Huang, a pivotal figure in bringing the Me Too movement to China, is at constant risk of arrest. Chinese film-maker Jialing Zhang gives an exclusive and previously impossible intimate insight into the interior of China and tells a deeply disturbing story of how the state uses technology to control its citizens as well as propaganda to convince its people to trust it.
  2. jeez the Everton Palace game is dull and devoid of any real quality not an easy watch
  3. Arguably the PL is already a cartel. Occasionally a club knocks on the door of showing progress, then the cartel steps in. They buy your better players to break your team up. They unsettle your better players with speculation of transfer offers The media knock you back and actively and unashamedly promote the 'big 6' They have far more spending power and can buy whoever and offer whatever wages. With the exception of Blackburn and Leicester, it's no co-incidence that the same clubs win the Premier League every season and that's not going to change this season. Since the PL formed in 1992/93 the winners have been Man Utd 13 - Man City 7 - Arsenal 3 - Chelsea 5 - Liverpool 1 - Blackburn 1 - Leicester 1 Similar can be said for the FA Cup and League Cup. I can't see that changing as money talks and the cartel is the cartel. They do not want anymore members spoiling the party. It's going to be extremely difficult for us or anyone else to join the party and sustain it. EDIT: typo
  4. EE should be alright. Have you check the coverage for your area? If you haven't already take a look here. https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/mobile-coverage
  5. If you're pissed with EE then don't move to Lyca. A quick google and Lyca piggy back the EE network. I've gone down the cheapo route, sim only, and gone with Lebara who use the Voda network and it's been great for me. Are you on any cashback sites like Topcashback or Quidco? You can get good deals from them using Uswitch. So many months for next to nothing then a low amount per month with no fixed contracts. as an example with Lebara 21GB Data, calls, texts, EU roaming £3.18 for 3 months then £7.95 - go to Uswitch through Topcashback and you'll get £11.55 back aswell. Lyca 21GB Data, calls, texts, EU roaming £2.99 for 3 months the £7.90 - same again using TCB £11.55 back. Theres other deals there too, just depends on budget, data that suits you Edit: Link added https://www.uswitch.com/mobiles/compare/sim_only_deals/
  6. You don't say in your post but If you're travelling by train i'm assuming you'll be going through New Street? If so you can leave luggage there. It will be a lot easier for you doing this. Drop your bags here, go to the match, collect bags after, get on the train. Happy days.
  7. Entering the Sty has an effect on people in a strange way and it's not for the better.
  8. Two crackers from the w/e v Fulham
  9. American Nighmare Netflix. 3 Episodes True crime story, unbelievable, shocking, gripping and a twist.
  10. I don't think anyone can say they understand/know what is or isn't offside these days... and that includes the officials!!!!
  11. probably a miss print as it should read ''the club are the gift that keeps on giving''
  12. For anyone who watched and enjoyed Making a Murderer on Netflix theres a 9 part documentary that came out the back end of last year called Convicting a Murderer. It shows the 'other side' of the case and not just from Steven Averys side. Very intriguing and well worth a watch. As with most American shows it's probably 2/3 episodes too long and could be done in less, but thats just my take. It's on DailyWire+ which is a States based subscription service but if you search about you can find it elsewhere. It's also on Cinema HD if you have that. First 2 episodes are 'free' on YouTube
  13. They have put ticket incentives on to help them to get to the sell out. 1,000 free tickets for children’s charities and schools Tickets 4 Teams Youth Team Managers/Coaches or Club Secretaries of local youth teams - boys and girls - can buy a Tickets 4 Teams package which covers three adults and 15 children for £90 at a Men’s game, starting with Sunderland The Club are giving the ‘Gift of Blues’ to our Platinum and Gold Members who travel 1,000s of miles each season to cheer on the team These fans can buy up to two tickets for family and friends at £10 for an adult and £3 for a child Working with big local employers, the essential services, and local universities Blues have created partnership packages that enable them to offer their employees and students Blues tickets for the hosting of Sunderland at a reduced price The game is now Category B, instead of Category A. This makes it more affordable and accessible, with tickets now starting at £30 I'm surprised theres not a category where you can trade in 10 Nectar points or a couple of Tesco points in as well
  14. Even Chris Heck? You're right though, it's still progress and the meltdown on here is extraordinary.
  15. tbf one game is all we normally get in the FA Cup
  16. tbh i was sceptical when i first read it as this day and age you jusy don't know, but, with your knowledge of the club, staff, fans etc.... .....there's no smoke without fire regardless of any stance on the badge, NS etc this is clearly very disappointing and damaging. I fear it's going to get worse before it get's better
  17. fantastic news amongst all the recent doom and gloom doing the rounds on here...
  18. Yes, it's ridiculous and kind of makes a mockery of things. It's no wonder there are so many willing to take there chances with the big money involved.
  19. spotted on FB Fantastic. When the Holte was the Holte, no crappy middle dividing gap/line that effectively turned it into two areas. EDIT: state of the pitch, nothing like the carpets they play on these days.
  20. Jeez i'm shocked, 69 that's no bloody age He was Iconic at the time with his characters on the afternoon show. Mr Angry and Sid the Manager to name just a couple.
  21. what ever happens with this new group i hope that there's never a drummer allowed anywhere near VP. Watching the Palace game and listening the that bloody drummer is just so annoying. Create an atmosphere, yes, but shove the drum sticks right up your jacksie
