  1. we were 2nd best all round and got what we deserved from the game, nothing. only 4 mins of added time, strange one that. never a foul for the Enzo free kick, poor refereeing decision Villa were naive for the free kick, Chelsea cleverly did what we did with Digne against Man U and moved the ball back. Our wall was further than 10 yards away. A really good strike though, fair play. I do not understand why no subs were made until 71 minutes, the way the first half went i was very surprised there were no changes made at ht I do not understand why bring Zaniolo and Iroegbunam on at 87/88 minutes Lee Dixon is a knob, boring and biased, quote ''it wasn't a free kick, who cares''? not one of our midfielders can say they did anything of any note, not one we had 3 good opportunities in the penalty area in the first half but players made the wrong decision and tried to pass when they could/should have had a go at goal After tonight, Chelsea think they have become world beaters. Their fans are in for a shock. It's difficult to see where the spark is going to come from to lift us back to the levels we were at. Hopefully something will happen and hopefully that will be on Sunday.
  2. you are right, it was an awful performance but to say ''not one player on the Villa team gave anywhere near 100% is bordering hysteria. It's harsh on Watkins who didn't get much service but still chased many a lost cause. I would also defend Martinez as he could do little for the goals. agree it was poor management from Emery, subs should have been made at HT and yes, a performance like that and Manure will turn us over. and as for the lack of investment in January, have you not heard of FFP?
  3. I’m shocked Unai has not made any changes. Shocked
  4. where's avoid relegation? oh hang on........... seriously though, I have to agree with that list
  5. I'm aware it's not as simple as i'm saying but it's most definitely doable with a little planning. I've seen many a cross city line train with umpteen carriages on it. As i've said, at least 10 carriages. Now somebody has planned that. Why can't it be planned for the trains that pass through Aston & Witton? We are talking about local trains here. Not trains that are going to Glasgow, Newcastle, London, Penzance etc. If that was the case then yes it would be neigh on impossible. The cross City line is Lichfield to Reditich and back. I'm sure the club must have discussed this and if not then it's a big miss. It just seems a simple solution to me. @S-Platt The platforms are big enough. They run trains throughout the day with 10 carriages without any problems. It's just when it's match day it's not ''peak'' time so it's treated like theres hardly any use of trains when we know different.
  6. They are there, they have them. Have you ever been on the cross city line during the day when a train rocks into New Street with about 10 carriages and about 20 people get on!!! It happens quite regular, except, it seems on match days. So the carriages are there, in my mind it's just a case of allocation and timing.
  7. one of the things with the trains from both Witton and Aston is as easy as clicking your fingers to fix. At match times the trains that are scheduled to pass through both stations and take fans away/back home..... put more carriages on the trains !!!! Bingo, everybody gets on the same train, job done.
  8. Yes there's lots of space behind the NS but that's your lot. I just can't see re-developing the DE as a viable option. Buying up all the houses? you'll always get one or two residents 'dig in' and refuse to sell. You end up with a stand off which does the club no good what so ever. Whatever is done redevelop[ing the DE if you have the same or very similar footprint you are going to be hindered. You might have shiney new seats but the behind the scenes fan experience will still be crammed and poor. As for the bowl type stadium It's only the cheap 15/25k that all look the same. You can tell all the 50k plus ones apart and each club have put there own mark on them. I really think an ageing 42k stadium will hold our progress back. I get sentiment, but imo we really need to move on.
  9. It's In the Unai Emery thread, page 534 or here https://www.avfc.co.uk/video/d80b6da1-f813-45de-91cc-fa7b9079c21b
  10. Genuine question. Have you been in the DE/Witton Lane stand at all or recently? IMO It really is borderline as fit for purpose and is way way behind the times. The fan experience in the concourses is 0 out of 10. Trying to get food or drink or even the basics of going to the toilet is an appalling experience. As each year passes it obviously gets worse/further behind. Without buying up the houses behind it there is very little room for expansion there if any. Edit: The same can be said for the NS
  11. hope you've got a tin hat ready As much as we all love Villa Park for what it is it is too restrictive and dated. The DE and the NS are well dated and are not fan friendly. We all know we are already way behind the so called top clubs and arguably will we ever catch up or get close to them. But to move forward with modern times we definitely need a new stadium. I'd be all for it.
  12. yeah, i just can not understand how he could not see it was a fouls, so clear and so obvious he must have been the only person in the ground not to think so.....crap
  13. how on earth is that not a free kick with Ederson clattering the players there. i get that it's a hard job but jeez the standard of officials is something else, that was so abvious
  14. gone to that parade ground in the sky to meet up with the rest of the cast RIP HEITS
  15. Sadly, he won't make it. Doesn't play for any of the Sly 6. if he did, he'd be getting way, way more cover from all of the msm We love him, he knows we love him. He appears to love Villa and we know that too. I hope he finishes his career here and in doing so, go down in history as a Villa legend
  16. clip from the race.... WARNING: At the very end the horse tries to get up.
  17. In all the years i've been watching racing I have never ever seen anything like what i've just witnessed in the last race at Mussleburgh. Getagin, is winning the race and is going to win and unexplainably falls just as he is getting to the finish line. He just collapse's in a heap. It's remarkable. It really was something else. Sadly when he tried to get up he seemed to struggle to make it to his legs. I really hope all is well for the connections.
  18. never heard of them, just had to google it to see what it was about. Is it any good? (i know that's subjective)
  19. I've watched The Joker a while back and thoroughly enjoyed it. I only watched It Snows in Benidorm because it had Timothy Spall in it and whilst he was good, as you might expect, the film was not.
  20. TBF, I don't watch many films at all and just pop in and out of this thread periodically to see if there's anything that's been posted that might take my fancy and be worth watching. The last two films i've watched, Past Lives and It Snows in Benidorm have most definitely not been my type of film. The films i've most recently watched prior to that have been catching up on the old Tarantino ones, which i've watched a few times over and still enjoy.
  21. watched this tonight based upon the positive posts about it that I read in here. wtfwtaa? I kept waiting and waiting for something to happen and guess what? nothing did!!! 0/5
  22. for sure.... and we were going to lose this match
