  1. wow. this show never ceases to amaze me. every episode this season is like a coen brothers meets tarantino esque movie. what an exit. i wonder who is next to bite the dust. skylar has got to go soon. i wouldnt be surprised to see walt jnr meet a nasty death either.
  2. RVP to Man Utd is bullshit according to a couple of arse supposed itk's....other than Utds measley opening bid theres been no word. Its Juventus or no-one at the moment, as Arse will want 25+ mill plus from another Prem club, if they accept it at all. RVP also supposedly isnt willing to judas arsenal by joining a main rival in the same league either, as it would jeapodise what he sees as his arsenal legend status. Personally i think he will stay for another year then go abroad, or sign a 12 month extension. All could change if one of the manc clubs come in with a mega offer, but i still cant see it. I think though theres still a slight chance of madrid or barcelona swooping in and getting him for 15-20 mill. Man Utd though they have signed Kagawa now look the weakest of the top 4 when you look squad for squad. Not by much, but their midfield is still lacking technically, and how much longer can Scholes and Giggs keep pace? Chelsea look interesting now though are still rebuilding, Arsenal need to add / tighten up defensively and they will be tite challengers for sure, and City ominously have yet to spend. Its all shaping up nicely. And as a sweetner, things down Villa ParK look more optimistic too :-) bring on the new season..
  3. i dont see it. i cant see him going to another premiership club, and i still think its 50/50 on whether he will see out his last year.
  4. cazorla is a great player. better than mata, and not far from silva's level. a better player than modric too. some great players coming into the prem this season, in Hazard, Kagawa, and now Cazorla. All 3 are brilliant. Rumours of the Cazorla fee vary from £12.5 - 18 mill. Either way its a bargain considering Spurs want 40mill for Modric. Arsenal are suppposedly in pole for Nuri Sahin too. Wenger really pulling his finger out this summer. They just need a good signing in defence and they can challenge again, with or without RVP. They are meant to be sniffing round other malaga players too. Malaga have some damn good players, Rondon etc, we should try to take advantage like Wenger the sneak seems to be doing.
  5. Anyone played it? Its hardcore with a capital H, and recent patches have lessened the appeal somewhat, but its still one of the most unique gaming expieriences i have ever had. For those who dont know, its a zombie / survival co-op / pvp mod for arma 2. Its a FPS multiplayer game. You spawn anywhere in a 200 x 200 square km map, with up to 40 other players., The average life expectancy for a new spawn is 49 minutes. Its often ridiculously hardcore. You can wonder around for hours sometimes without seeing another player. And then when you do bump into one its incredibly tense as most people will shoot other survivors on site for their loot which is incredibly limited. Many a time ive been down to my last tin of beans, made friends with another survivor. then had to shoot him in the back when his guard was down to loot his kit. Its brutal, bleak, and can be amazingly frustrating. but if you have a beefy gaming pc that can handle it i recommend you giving it a try.
  6. cazorla to arsenal is in the advanced stages according to the arse itk's...
  7. playing Day Z on pc.....its like nothing else out there...
  8. ashley young has had an awfull tournament.. and i still think its a joke that people talk about Rooney as if he is one of the best players in the world, doesnt even make it into the top 10 for me. I think Hodgson has done well, and the future looks a little more bright. I think he cocked up with taking Milner off for Walcott rather than Ash Young.
  9. rooney and ash young very poor terry has been great so far this in all the games, tho Zlatan gave him a couple of nervy moments. right choice taking him and not Rio. we look solid though, no chance we will go much further but at least we look like we care for a change. We are so poor at keeping possesion, almost Villa like in the way we just dont look comfortable stringing passes together.
  10. walcotts a damn good player, still very young, our future hopes for england in a large part rest on his, wilshires, and ox-chamberlains shoulders.. im surprised people dont cut him more slack, he is lightening, a very good finisher, and his footballing brain will only get better as he gets older.. still not sold on Carroll, though Wellbeck looks like he a can do a job, has done well i think. Definately meant the finish last night.
  11. He has got to go, he is awful!! Utter liability at the back, offers nothing going forward. Lightweight and weak in the air, i really think he offers nothing we couldnt easily improve on. What wages is he on? must be one of the higher earners. Granted he has been slightly less shit this season compared to usual, but he is so poor generally i cant believe some want him to stay. Him and Collins have got to be shifed asap.
  12. commolli? the guy who negotiated 35 mill for Carroll? the guy who gave us 20mill for Downing? what has he ever done to justify appearing on peoples wish lists?? http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/3774/the-sweeper/2012/04/21/3050407/the-sweeper-sacked-comolli-frustrated-by-liverpools-buy 'The club's former Director for Football who left Anfield earlier this month felt the Reds should have pursued foreign talent rather than homegrown youngsters preferred by Dalglish' He wanted Juan Mata at Liverpool before chelsea bought him..Blame those signings on Kenny. Comolli was forced to sign British players. If he really had full control of Liverpool's transfer dealings, they would not have ended up with downing, carroll, adam, henderson and every other shit player thy signed. I think you'll find he takes the credit, but whether he actually 'scouted' them is another matter. wow he wanted Mata did he? What a visionary. Mate every top club in europe was sniffing round the bloke last summer! He sells himself very well, that much is obvious . Said Spurs signing Berbatov was his doing, when apparantly it was all set up by Frank Arneson. Wenger according to an article in the Guardian cant stand the bloke, who tried claiming credit for signing Henry, Vieira, Pires etc....when the only recommendation of his they actually followed through was Clichy. As for Spurs, well everyone ITK at Spurs apparantly says he only discovered Benoît Assou-Ekotto, the rest he just takes the credit for. Yes Dalglish picked the players (with his input no doubt), but Commoli negotiated the fees. Yes, 35 mill for Carrol, the most insane overpriced transfer in premiership history was his doing. No thanks, though we do need someone who knows the transfer market, knows every league in europe inside out, and knows where the bargains are and how to get the deals done. Every penny we have to spend these next couple of seasons needs to be spent incredibly wisely else we are into the abyss i fear.
  13. So much that needs doing. A massive massive job ahead, essentially the same job O'Neil had when he started, only the new boss wont have anywhere near as much spending power.. Warnock and Collins must go. I have never despised a pair of defenders as much as I despise these two. Utterly awfull players, bad influence behind the scenes, and seem utter prats on a personal level. Should be able to sneak a couple of million off some sucker for Warnock, Collins i want gone so badly id just pay off his contract to get rid. Delph too if we get an offer, and Delfounso. Hutton needs to be sold, complete liability. Resign Cuellar if possible. Then spend the what money we have on the central midfield, and some decent full backs.
  14. commolli? the guy who negotiated 35 mill for Carroll? the guy who gave us 20mill for Downing? what has he ever done to justify appearing on peoples wish lists??
  15. fair play to Lerner for at least being quick and decisive in correcting his mistake. right thing to let him take us to the end of the season too. he simply has to get this next apppointment right or the lerner out protests will start. i had accepted Lerner would give his man another season as id completely lost faith in his judgement, so this was a nice surprise. I worry though which good managers are available who would consider us at the moment, knowing the size of the task at hand, and the crazy expectation levels..
  16. hmmm, surprised so many are desperate for him back other than some snappy passing in his early games, he looks pretty average to me, and game by game rather than getting better he seemed to be getting worse... granted he didnt have much time, and I havent got a clue how he has done in Greece. Im assuming from the way people are talking here he has been playing very well?
  17. absolutely terrifying thinking about how much cash it will take to rebuild the squad and replace the manager. i dont think Lerner has it, hence why theres no doubt for me that Mcleish will stay, be given about 10-15 mill and told to get on with it. We need a quality CM at the double else we are going down next season.
  18. interesting statement just released by the british boxing board of control. wonder what that means for haye chisora...not that id be watching those muppets fight anyway
  19. yet another balls up by the club. losing Cuellar, while Dunne and Collins are still about. Dunne has his moments, but Collins i think is utter gash. Cuellar is clearly our best CB, yet regardless of manager gets a raw deal
  20. Fair play to Newcastle, they have some cracking players which didnt cost the earth. What a come back after being relegated. Just shows how crucial a good scouting system and a manager who can spot a good player. Shame we are so shockingly poor at it. Unfortunately every manager weve had who has been blessed with money to spend has completely wasted it. Whether MON with his Heskey, Beye, Shorey, Collins, Delphs, Reo Coker, Zat Knight etc, Houllier with Makoun, Bent (yes I think we massively overpaid for a limited player, we could have signed Ba and Cisse and been left with tons to spend from the 23mill he cost), or Mcleish with Hutton and Nzogbia. Cast your net wide enough and with abit of guile players like Tiote, Ben Arfa, Cisse, Santon etc are out there and can be prised away for sensible fee's. We just never seem to be able to do it.
  21. No mention of the wage bill there i see, which has increased massively under his tenure, which accounts for a lot more than 6mill a year at a guess... he was doing fine till his bust up with MON, since then the big decisions he has had to take, he has gotten massively wrong, and worse the fanbase told him as such each time... im worried about his decision making, and no longer have any confidence in the people running the club. buts its an untruth to say he doesnt care about us, or that he hasnt pumped enough money in imo..
  22. No he has loaned millions, very big difference and we are now being crippled by those loans as he cuts budgets in order to repay them and the interest (though at a small percentage) and management fees. Nope, he's done both. He's loaned us a fortune and he's given us a fortune out of his own pocket each year too - something like £20m in the last years accounts. Oddly, I've a feeling that this has been a pretty consistent figure throughout his tenure, sadly it used to pay for new exciting players, now it pays for mismanagement on lot of levels. Never has so much money been spent, borrowed and given away for so little result. I don't know how Randy's heart feels about the Villa, but I'm sure he'll miss the hundred odd million pounds he'll never see again - and I doubt there are many people who will have a more pressing motivation to start getting it right. His mistakes hurt us and I can thoroughly understand the anger people feel, but they hurt him too, maybe in more ways, maybe in different ways but he's putting in a fortune at the moment and he'll be very much aware he's thrown that money down the drain. He needs to get it right - for Aston Villa and maybe for Randy Lerner too. Good post OBE yep, glad some agree. i cant defend recent decisions, but he is no doubt hurting just as much as us and some of the abuse is over the top. he must know he has **** up big time with his last few major decisions, and i think we will see some effort made this summer to put it right. just amazes me that for such a seemingly quiet, reserved bloke, it seems he loves taking massive gambles with his mangerial appointments. Depending on who you hear he recruited / inherited MON, then gambled it all on a period of wild spending we couldnt sustain, then when that fell apart, he took the gamble of going with Houllier despite his known health concerns. Then to top it all we get Mcleish. Going for Mcleish, after we pulled away from considering McClaren because of fan reaction doesnt make any sense. He seems well meaning but utter inept
  23. tone down the posts ffs, no doubt some of the ones posting such vitriol were licking his balls a couple seasons ago... yes i am completely disillusioned with Lerners owenership, yes he had cocked things up royally and seems to be making one massive misjudgement after another, but theres no need for some of the posts im seeing here. he has still pumped millions of his own cash into the club, money he wont be getting back. and i have no doubt that despite his mistakes he has the best interests of avfc at heart... that being said its utterly terrifying how crap he seems to be at running a club! He needs to get some decent advisors on board to tell him some hard truths, and ideally either pass it on or get onboard another party whp can give us the financial investment we need... unbelievable how quick things change....we doing a semi leeds united, from touching the champions league to the championshop within a couple of years.....
  24. i think Arsenal are actually on the soundest footing long term of all the top english clubs other than perhaps City. and i think will be much better next season. new stadium built and almost paid for. extremely good financial results. squad packed with young players, youth and reserve teams bursting with talent. yes they havent won a trophy in a long time but its not like they havent been competing, havent they been in 2 champions league finals during that time? havent been helped this season with the yearly injury nightmare they seem to have which has been even worse than usual, and the shock of losing fabregas and nasri. they have a core of a great squad. i rate szczesny, vermaelen, song, wilshire, chamberlain, rvp as being currently or potentially becoming world class. i still think wengers job is secure even if they dont finish top 4, though i think he knows he is nearing last chance saloon and will give the squad a proper working over in time for next season. Arshavin out and Podolski in look to be early signs of that. A front 3 of RVP, Chamberlain and Podolski is frightening. Add in the midfield combo we will likely see of Song, Arteta and Wilshire and thats a damn good first 11, with the likes of Gervinho and Walcott in reserve, both who i think will come good. With Chamakh out in the summer along with the likes of Squillachi, more signings like the linked Goetze and Hazard and i think theyd be the ones closest to give man city a run for their money. Im the opposite to Trent and believe RVP will stay. He is even more of a club man than Henry was before leaving, and i think he will give it at least another season before walking away. I have no doubt he has had words with wenger and is expecting signings this summer though.
