  1. I generally preference the more classic Villa claret body blue sleeves look, but there was something special about last year's kit. This kit is a bit average in comparison. It's fine, but it's just fine.
  2. Despite all the talk that this was a Fanatics kit with Kappa logos on it, this is definitely on a 2019 Kappa template.
  3. It's a perfectly cromulent Villa kit, nothing too exciting but very nice. Ticks all the boxes.
  4. This is interesting because it's clearly the same template as the leaked training kits, but I've been led to believe our stuff is designed and produced by Fanatics with Kappa signing off and having a logo slapped on. Or is that just the kits? And Kappa does the training range? Or is Kappa doing everything and Fanatics just handle the distribution?
  5. Someone is going to die very quickly in that bare knuckle garbage. What a stupid, dangerous idea.
  6. I'm sure Luke had a say in the design of the kit last season, he just would have been working with Fanatics in house designers to ensure they could achieve his vision. I'm sure it will be the same with Kappa. Am I wrong?
  7. I really hope they do X-Men in a different timeline or different universe or whatever. I'd hate for them to compromise the backstories of the X-Men characters for the sake of shoehorning them into the current MCU setup. It's bad for both groups and I don't see how even the brilliant team who brought 22 movies together can get another couple of dozen characters in naturally. Also as others have stated, Wolverine needs to be short. He doesn't need to be 5'3 but cast someone like Dave Franco or Scott Caan or Emile Hirsch, who are well under 6'0. It's probably a few years away anyway, as they'll need to give the current X-Men movies some time to breathe and be forgotten before they start their own.
  8. I'm guessing this was about how he ended up back in Bournemouth still wearing his Villa kit
  9. Looking at his highlights, he looks a really well rounded striker. Strong and powerful, can get on the end of the cross, appears to be a bit of a poacher around the 6 yard box, and is comfortable with the ball at his feet as well. Very exciting signing!
  10. I actually had no issues with the WC at all. I still switched to SBS when they gave it up because it was easier, but still used Optus for the 20 minute minigames and highlights. I spoke with a Chelsea supporting workmate who said that Optus sport was flawless for the Premier league this season. It's so nice to know that I'll just be able to watch week in week out without trying to find a stream. Even little things like not having to dig through the menus on Sportsbet to find the Villa game will be excellent
  11. Time to switch to an Optus mobile? I'm lucky that I've been with Optus the whole time so I now get every game live and free effectively.
  12. I didn't expect i'd listen to as much of that interview as I did, really interesting stuff. I don't really have the time to watch wrestling anymore but i'll probably follow AEW pretty closely, hopefully they can get a bit of a bigger foothold than TNA managed and really challenge WWE. Certainly getting the likes of Jericho and Moxley on board is huge
  13. For a club like Liverpool its the Premier League 1st, 2nd and 3rd IMO. Haven't won the league in the Premier League era and it's absolutely the elephant in the room for their gigantic club status. I reckon 95% of Liverpool fans would trade their CL title for the PL title.
  14. Anything can happen in football but I would be absolutely stunned if Jack went anywhere this offseason. He's living his boyhood dream and he's up there now with any Villa hero of the modern era for mine. If we stagnate, I wouldn't begrudge him moving on eventually to play Champions League football, but I think he'll stick with us for a few years yet.
  15. I'll admit I haven't followed the Premier League closely since we were relegated, but are Bournemouth playing the second comings of Nesta and Cannavaro at the back or what? How the hell could someone that good be allowed to go out on loan?
  16. I still love the idea of him but I haven't watched him since we were relegated. Checking the stats, he scored 49 in 101 appearances for us and has managed just 21 in 89 appearances for Palace. Fallen a long way.
  17. Interesting. I wonder in that case who negotiated the deal with Kappa. That sort of reads like Fanatics would have done that wheeling and dealing with Aston Villa signing off on what Fanatics negotiated. Not really fussed either way, I expect we'll have a good kit. It is a unique arrangement though. It was different with Luke because he hadn't produced a football kit for a major football club before, but I do wonder how much our kit will differ from other Kappa kits in terms of cut/material/template, if at all.
  18. I "emotionally hedge" just about every week against the Villa. It's the only way I regularly bet on sport. Traditionally it's quite lucrative but the win streak absolutely destroyed my online betting account. I'll be dumping just about everything i've got in there on Derby to be promoted, just waiting to see if the odds go further out for them.
  19. That Children with Cancer patch is clearly covering an old sponsor who was originally printed but isn't continuing, but i'm fine with them doing that. It's not worth throwing out thousands of shirts. Other than that it just looks a bit unfinished because of the white sleeves with no sort of trim.
  20. People still think of Kappa as the ridiculously overbranded shirts from the 90s and early 2000s when they've been doing really nice stuff for a few years now. They'll be fine.
  21. Okay I quite like that, but to pull it apart: Blue sleeves are back. Shorts look blue as well though
  22. I don't mind the black section at the top, although it feels like something Under Armour have been doing forever with their templates. The sponsor though, christ. It makes me thankful for 32red tbh.
  23. I don't mind this as an idea actually. Start paying indirect free kicks inside the box for every single handball and only pay penalties for particularly bad ones where a shot is blocked or someone has their arm stretched out. I'd be interested to see it trialed.
  24. I totally disagree that engaging in debate with a UKIP member is helpful at all. For starters, they aren't interested in an intellectual debate, it's completely meaningless to them or how they run their campaign. Secondly, giving them a platform helps to legitimise their views with the mainstream, which is why we've had these fringe far right groups able to get footholds in the mainstream all over the world. Any potential victim narrative they get out of an incident like this is massively overshadowed by the entire country laughing at them, which spreads quickly and works to delegitimise them.
  25. Yep, it'll be a shock to the system to have to get used to being played off the park by sides worth more than a billion pounds every 3rd week. Whatever happens from here, the Championship has been a really enjoyable league to watch us play in.
