Why is it that ,at the same rate as you start losing hair from your head, it re-appears growing out of your ears ? Is there any way to reverse this process ?

Is it as hard as playing a musical instrument ? It seems that, at a number of levels , Dj's seem to think they have the same status as musicians; so , no perhaps don't claim to be musicians. Often bigger egos though.

Yep , you are dead right (as usual). Just spoken to the guitarist who confirms Quaife had left and been replaced by another bassist + a keyboard player. It seems their roadie (a statuesque lady !!) was explaining to him why he had left. I remember that their PA was 200 watts !!! That was quite something back then; certain sections of the community have that in their car these days. It was a make none of us had heard of - GBX; Canadian I think. The Davis brothers didn't speak to us but the drummer (Mick Avory ?) was a decent bloke - but dropped a lot of drumsticks !!

Didn't know this muso, but must have been some bass player to play with Rod Argent ! He was not the original bassist with The Kinks; that was Peter Quaife I think; we supported them at The Belfrey in (about ) 1970 - 'Lola' had just hit No 1 in the Top Twenty.

I have a good mate who works at Villa (groundstaff) and it was suggested that he was 'disruptive'. Might be a slight amelioration !

OK no problem. I suppose I thought that in view of the previous incidents the team would have been warned to be on their best behaviour. I have a mate who is a (Burnley) and Lancs CCC supporter and he reckons that Anderson can be a bit 'volatile' so , yep, who knows what really went on but I think we might agree that it is bad news for the team as a whole.

What on earth is going on with England in Australia - off the field ! First Bairstow incident and now Duckett pouring beer over James Anderson (according to news reports). Seems cricket is slipping into 'yobbery' - can't see Denis Compton/ Colin Cowdrey et al acting like that. I guess that this is not exactly pertinent to the thread but I repeat it out of interest and to illustrate how times have changed. For some years I worked for Walsall Area Health Authority (Finance Dept) and we held old records at St Margarets Hospital - Great Barr. It was decided to examine and clear out the old records so a colleague were dispatched to have a look. They were mainly patients records and we discovered that some of the 'residents' had committed fairly gruesome crimes. BUT a large number of female patients had spent their life in there for no greater crime than having illegitimate children. Quite a thought provoking insight into those times.

Lad from 'Ooop North lost his wife and had to sort out funeral arrangements. Stone Mason said' " What do ya want on headstone Lad" Lad thinks a minute and says " I think I'll have 'She was Thine' ". Stone mason makes a note. Couple of weeks later lad goes to churchyard to look at grave and to his horror the headstone says "She was Thin" He rushes home and phones stone mason. "You've missed the 'e' of my wife's headstone" he says. Stone mason apologizes and assures him he will correct it. Lad goes back 2 weeks later to find the headstone says ..... " EEEE she was thin ".
