  1. Glad that he finally got the clean sheet that he deserves. There's been so many games where the end result doesn't reflect his brilliant performances. Dominates his area and a great personality in the team. We may still have defensive issues, but I'm effin' glad we have a rock like him between the sticks.
  2. Definitely agree with everybody saying he looked better at RB. I really think Lambo should settle on that as his position from now on so he can develop it. It's good to have a versatile player, but I can't help but think of the "jack of all trades" expression, so it'd make sense to keep him at RB and really work on him becoming solid in that position. It's great to know that he will be able to step into the midfield to help should he have to if we had a problem with injuries, but Bacuna at RB from now on please did very well today.
  3. I like how quickly we pressed. Had an effort at about 50 seconds in, so I assume they all had a grilling about starting slowly. Guzan definitely gets MOTM for me. A penalty save when we feared the usual, an absolute cracker of a save later on in the game and a general solid performance. Bacuna looks as though RB could be his better position, although him and Lowton will really be fighting for that position if Lowton returns to form. Kozak getting the goal in his 2nd game was fantastic and will hopefully do wonders for his confidence. It still wasn't exactly Villa firing on all cylinders but it's brilliant to come away with 3 points and that little bit sweeter to get the clean sheet. UTV!
  4. Perhaps someone would be interested in this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-PUSSY-WAGON-TAXED-TESTED-STI-CLEAR-/161107374385 Looks quite good according to the item description/Q&A
  5. He's only really been brought on late in a game, when we're chasing and trying to grab a goal (apart from Rotherham), so it's almost as though he's coming on with a massive sense of urgency and to take pot shot, hoping one of them goes in. It'd be good to see him get a longer run out without the need to get something so quickly, so that we can really see what kind of player he is. It's obviously a risk to start him but it'd be good to see him get some proper game time.
  6. Especially when followed by the Chelsea performance. 2 brilliant performances on the bounce shows that we are capable of producing some fantastic high paced football and give any team something to think about. It's no coincidence that 2 of our worst performances (well, 1 and a half, excluding the second half of Liverpool) were our home games, and our best showings were away. We're more than capable of bossing this one, but it really depends on how we hold up defensively.
  7. I'm still wondering what Lambert is gonna do with him in terms of what his position will be, and I really wanna see him get more game time. I was really excited when we signed him to see what sort of impact he was gonna make and I've yet to really understand where he will play. Give him a go Lambo!
  8. Saturday's game will have given them a kick up the arse. I'm sure they were aware that it wasn't good enough, and now that Lambo has pointed out how ridiculously slowly we start, hopefully they will pummel the living daylights out of Norwich from the first whistle to make up for it. None of this passing back to Guzan and hoofing it up to Benteke business, just keep running forward and don't give Norwich too much space. If we don't get something out of this, then I'm afraid that it will be a rather large blow to the optimism.
  9. Absolutely devastated. Feel so sorry for him, just as he was getting the season up and running. Unfortunately, I really can't see Lambert signing anyone to cover him. I reckon he'll say that he has enough faith in Clark and Baker to cover him and that he's not worried. It'd be really helpful if we did get someone in. If Clark and/or Baker picks up a knock then we're in the poo, as I think it'd be too much pressure on Donacien and I'd prefer Bacuna to actually start to become comfortable in a position so that he can progress. I guess we'll see.
  10. Finally, Redskins TD. Enough time to bring it back.......
  11. Very disappointing first half for the Redskins. We're gonna need one hell of a comeback. Sloppy sloppy sloppy
  12. He left an unholy amount of space yesterday. Towards the end of the game Ben Arfa was just toying with him and making us look daft. I've noticed it in every game but his handy ability to get forward so well has made up for it. Unfortunately that wasn't the case yesterday so that's all that I kept noticing. The missed goal opportunity was another "ffs" moment. He had a very similar chance when we played Liverpool in the game previous; attempting a pass rather than having a go. It's nice to see that he's unselfish but when a chance like that comes along and he's in the best position to have a go, he needs to just trust his foot and have a shot. He's had more good games than bad so far, in my opinion, so hopefully he was just (along with most of the squad) having a bad one and will shake it off and do better next week.
  13. Very hard game to watch. It's a shame because this was one of the games that we had down as one that we'd get something from, and it's a kick in the shaft when it's been crossed off of the calendar and we don't have anything to show for it. That's what makes a defeat so hard to take. I can't say that the team didn't put the effort in today as they worked their socks off like they usually do, but we really need to sharpen up. There were so many misplaced passes and bad decisions made that cost us, and a lot of them were when we were building up to something positive. Starting games is something we really need to sort out. We now have the opposite problem to what we had last season (when we used to start strongly and then throw it away), and we're taking far too long to settle down. Every league match so far has seen us take the damage within 20 minutes, and now it's at the point where we almost wait for the opposition to score the opener just to get it out of the way. Chasing the game so early is just adding to the pressure and tiring us out quicker. Kozak for El Ahmadi was a bit confusing. It would have made a sense a little later on, but it felt as though Lambo just had that one corner in mind and was desperate to get the equaliser. After that, it just took the shape out of the midfield. It seemed as though, as we got closer to their box, nobody really knew what to do, which showed because it often ended up with us needlessly giving the ball away. We just looked very off of it today. Nothing was really happening. All of that said, I'm not gonna panic and assume that we're doomed and that there's been no change, because there has, and hopefully this will just be one of those off games that we can forget about. It's just a shame that it happened to be this one.
  14. Just hope that Newcastle don't do any damage during our 15-20 minute 'settling in' period that we always have at the start. It'd be nice if we scored during that time for a change!
  15. Yet I'm sure they could name all of ours, and our reserves, and all of our upcoming fixtures for this season. It's quite hilarious
  16. They really struggled to beat Yeovil the last 2 times that they met. They're gonna need some sort of miracle in order to stay up, but knowing them 3 other teams will somehow have a worse run of form and go down instead. They deserve to go down, at the very best they're a League 1 side at the moment. It all looks very gloomy down the sty.....
  17. Doesn't really help when we don't really have a squad full of likeable characters. So many bad attitudes in there.
  18. Not a great start for the Redskins. 3rd and 4th quarters much more encouraging though. Threw that one away.
  19. Oops, apologies. I'd just heard that he'd been dropped and assumed that it was true (probably because I expected something like that to end up happening if, god forbid, a top 6 team gets beaten on the opening day haha!). It's still a shame that Lambo was punished when Wenger also criticised the refereeing after the Arsenal game. Like Lambo said himself, they're game changing decisions, especially when they're as obvious as that, it's frustrating. Regardless of the fine though, the fact that he drew attention to it in the first place might make Kevin Friend be a bit nicer to us next time
  20. So....Anthony Taylor gets dropped for his performance at the Emirates, when both of the major decisions that were so controversial were actually correct and the replays 100% prove so. Kevin Friend misses 2 decisions that, again, you can watch the replays all you like and all they do is prove Lambert's points even further, and Lambo gets fined for complaining and no action is taken against the ref? This is completely disgusting how this is allowed to happen. He was right when he said that the penalty would have been given if it was at the other end, and I wouldn't be surprised if that was the comment that he's been fined for. I've noticed that the refereeing so far this season has been particularly and noticeably more terrible. The bias towards top 6 teams is atrocious and needs addressing, and is only made more obvious to everybody when things like this happen. Well done to Lambo for pointing it out, and it's a massive shame that he's the one who comes out of this as the "bad guy".
  21. Not really followed the NFL much, but I've been wanting to get into it a little more so I'm gonna try and do that this season. Redskins fan from now on
  22. Definitely one of the buys this summer that's had the most immediate and significant impact. The fact that he's so composed makes me feel very confident that he'll deal with any dangers. Obviously, he's not gonna be able to deal with every single ball in our half, but I feel a hell of a lot more relaxed when he's on the pitch, which is massively important to get from a defender.
