  1. Ah man, gutted. Was so happy to see Jiri win the belt. Respect him for giving it up though since he's going to be out for so long. I'd imagine he'll end up fighting Ankalaev for it when he's back - he seems the most likely guy to take it.

Did my second Karate competition on Sunday, 6 months after my first one - this time it was a national competition instead of purely a novice one. Managed to come out with another Gold medal in one of my categories, which I'm absolutelty over the moon with. Had a good fight too and am definitely seeing some improvement compared to my first outing. Still a very long way to go, but I'm dead chuffed!
  3. I can't wait for this dogshit tournament to be over with.
  4. I was quite surprised that there was such a debate, to be honest. When I saw it in real time, it didn't even occur to me at all that there was an issue. It looked to me like Digne was already in the process of clearing the ball when March came running in. Unfortunate timing, but a purely accidental clash in my eyes.
  5. Slightly disappointed, but we won the more important game against these, in my opinion. I'd love a good cup run, but I think that the focus for the rest of this season has to be the League, considering what an F up Gerrard has made of it so far. I think that we'd have beat these again if we put a full strength side out, which gives me great confidence.
  6. I saw them on The Incident tour back in 2009 (also in Wolvo, I think it was at the Civic Hall). They played a section from Anethetize on that tour too, it was bloody marvellous. I'm still convinced that that song might be Steven Wilson's finest moment (solo albums included).
  7. Travelling down to Wembley and back tomorrow to see Porcupine Tree. Absolutely buzzing for it even though the drive is gonna be an absolute bag of shit.
  8. Yep, ridiculous. And yet people say "but it's only for one night a year". They're currently going off now, as they were last weekend, as they probably will be next weekend. It's a joke.
  9. I didn't know that this was a thing. I'm gonna have to hunt these down.
  10. Wispa Gold straight out of the fridge.
  11. Option 2 for me. It looks like it has a bit more stature to it. Simple but classy. It looks way better when you look at the "Villa 2 - 1 Everton" highlights screenshot on the video.
  12. Been giving the new Polyphia album a spin over the weekend. As expected, it's nuts. The guitarists in here should give it a go.
  13. Yep. It's frustrating that people give him the attention. If he's going to keep fighting retired MMA fighters, maybe he just needs to step into MMA and see how he gets on there. He's not going to get real respect until he fights someone the same age, same weight and who is a boxer by trade. Silva is a legend and is one of the greatest strikers in MMA, but he's 47 ffs (though I reckon Silva still would have demolished him in an MMA bout). I'm also sick of people saying that he's changed the game by coming out of nowhere and is getting these "big" fights off his own back. The guy was very, very famous and was was a multimillionaire before he started boxing. The sport is dominated by money, and if you have enough of it then you can pretty much do what you want. It's not like he was a nobody who has just burst onto the scene. He's very rich and famous and has handpicked his fights against YouTubers, Basketball players and retired MMA fighters.
  14. I really don't think Newcastle are that good. We're handing them this by doing shit like that.
  15. I really think that we'll see a great goal return from Ings under Emery. He's been slightly disappointing since he's arrived, but I really think that it was mostly due to the awful style of play that we've been burdened with, so our attacking players just couldn't get the ball to him in the right positions. If we're going to (hopefully) stick with this 4-2-3-1 and give the front 4 some freedom, I've no doubt he'll find his form again.
  16. Medium sliced bread is now thin, thick sliced bread is now medium. If I want thick sliced bread I have to buy toastie, which ends up either being what thick sliced loaf should be, or it's like eating half a loaf per slice.
  17. It did make me laugh how awkward the pundits looked on MOTD when analysing Sunday's game. They couldn't possibly suggest that their mate Stevie didn't have a clue. The media can point fingers at the fans all they like, but when the majority of the fanbase is looking at the team selections every week in utter frustration, they can't all be wrong. It's even more interesting when the interim manager plays a formation that the fans were calling for and they end up smashing a pretty solid Brentford team 4-0. It was obvious weeks ago that the players were sharing the same frustrations as the fans. They looked like they were playing with so much more freedom on Sunday.
  18. Needs some time on the bench to get himself together. I still think that there is a useful player in there, but there's no way that he should be starting games right now.
  19. This thread is definitely gonna ruffle some feathers
