I can't believe the club allow him to play without shin pads. It won't end well. -
That was a ridiculous penalty to give away at a time when we were in total control, and we fell apart after that. Some very good play earlier in the game, I thought Cleverley linked up well with Cole and benefitted from having someone to pass to. I am a fan of Sanchez but he really needs to tighten up. Three games undefeated, I'm classing that as a mini-revival.

I don't think this is a must win, given that they have won their last two games I don't think we would necessarily be expected to win. A draw would be acceptable.

Good riddance, I never liked him being associated with Villa.

He was awful tonight, but generally his form has been a lot better than that. I think he should keep his place for now.

To be given the chance to slot home from 12 yards to win the match isn't soul destroying, it is what real strikers live for.

Wow, this guy went nearly a month with no one posting in his thread, which I think is a shame because he is a very consistent performer, nearly always a 6.5 - 7.5 out of 10 for me.

Dreadful miss tonight, but, according to some, that doesn't count because he wasn't playing as a central striker.

If Benteke is fit for even half the remaining games we wont be anywhere near relegation.

Not good enough by a long way. Even poor strikers score goals occasionally, Weimann is a poor striker. He gets more plaudits for what he does without the ball than what he does with it.

Ah, happy memories of Bent sprinting onto a defence splitting through ball. I can only see two reasons why that isn't going to work now.

I always thought he could be a good defender if he could cut out the mistakes. He played well today but still made a bad error when he picked up the injury, luckily it didn't cost us today.

Easily our best footballer today, he also showed that he can run with the ball at speed. Looks like he knows what he is doing when he has the ball, although there were a few loose passes.

I would settle for no injuries and no red cards out of this game, scorewise I can only foresee a beating to nil.

In the absence of Benteke, I think Zog is the player that we should be setting up to get the most out of. He is the only one with enough quality to build the playing style around. That doesn't exactly fill me with confidence either.

I really don't see how you can say that Bent 'deserves' to play - certainly not based on current performances.

Weimann as a lone striker is a no-no, he just doesn't have the attributes to play that role. Gabby does, despite his current form, and I would have him over Weimann in that role. Bent doesn't come into the equation anywhere for me.

He took his goal well but didn't really do too much else against a very porous Spurs defence.

He was ok today, still needing to catch up to the pace of the premier league. He does have a habit of chasing the ball rather than just holding, which makes him easy to bypass at times, but I think he will be a big player for us.

He looked very good while he was on the pitch, I don't really blame him for the push, if someone sticks their head in your face it is a natural reaction, it isn't like he chinned him.

As Villa fans we are all disappointed with another loss, but as football fans we can only be happy that young Harry Kane has scored a goal with a marvelous free kick that he deliberately bounced off Baker's head. The cheeky chap, man of the match don't you know. Excellent.

NRC gets little appreciation on here, I remember the other season people saying Sylla was better than him after he had played about 5 games. Yes, NRC was a jerk and not very gifted with the ball, but he had pace, a great engine and was a good tackler. He would have made a big difference to our last two seasons.

Chap! Have you seen the stats for our goals scored this season. We won't win games if Lambert can't get some creativity out the team. I do expect us to score again this season.
