I think most strikers would look better playing through the middle with Benteke. That's because Benteke is a good player. Has anyone ever said that someone would look a better player by playing up front with Weimann?

I like Westwood because he has improved as a player and seems to be doing the right things to continue to improve himself as much as he can. Having said that, he has never dominated a game like Sanchez did against QPR from the DMF role, and I'm not sure he is suited to playing anywhere else in our midfield.

Lambert is not able to get the best out of the players, that is obvious, but I do think we will be safe enough this season as long as our best players are fit at the same time. I'm not saying Lambert should stay, but I don't think things will be so bad from a league position point of view that he will get the bullet.

His distribution is consistently poor.

If we ever get Sanchez and Delph playing together I think we will be ok.

Apart from those mad few minutes he was very good, although strangely his defensive work seemed to be the weakest part of his game. But he can pass and challenges well in the air, which we otherwise lack. I don't have a problem with him trying stuff and making a mistake - ok, it's a bummer if it costs us a goal, but I'm just glad to see a player that takes responsibility for trying to build things rather than hide away and play the easy option every time.

He was poor tonight, but first game for a while so perhaps understandable. I don't think he is much good, but better than he showed tonight.

QPR were rubbish but could have had four against us. The shape of the team just never looked right. Sanchez was the best player on the pitch, shame he blotted his copy book by giving away the second goal, but he was the dominant player. If we have him, we don't need Westwood on the pitch as well, at least not against the likes of QPR. Westwood/Cleverley didn't give us enough, and if Sanchez cost £4m I don't think you can argue Cleverley is value for £8m. The full backs were poor going forward, and the passing from all of the defenders was below par. Benteke obviously not up to speed but played a lot better than in the Everton game. Meh.

It is far from the line up I was hoping to see. Ah well, should be good enough.

I think he has been a great signing, just hope we aren't dragging him down like we seemed to do with Bertrand.

He was awful yesterday, but has shown some good play in previous games. Unfortunately, he is one of the few players we have with a touch of creativity and unpredictability, so I think we have to stick with him.

Tidy and works hard, but less influential than his stats might tend to suggest. As others have said, he doesn't seem to make a lot of difference. He is a useful player if he has better players to give the ball to that will make things happen, he doesn't seem to be able to do it himself.

Hutton was our best attacking player, that tells you the sort of problems we have got.

    It is a role he is completely unsuited to because he lacks just about all of the attributes that you would want from a forward player. Running around aimlessly without the ball must be the easiest thing you can do on a football pitch.

I can't agree with that, I thought Weimann was absolutely pathetic. I don't think that the Bacuna/Grealish subs did us any favours though.

City have off days, I'm fairly relaxed about this one.

Entirely predictable the way the game went, but we did seem to be showing some promise just before the second goal went in.

Teams look very evenly matched on paper, this one is too tight to call.

I don't think Sanchez was quite that bad either. Yes, he obviously isn't up to the pace of the PL yet, got caught on the ball and made some very poor passes, but looked like a decent player having a bad game rather than a bad player.

At least we had two efforts on goal, that must boost our season average somewhat.
