    love that strip. i've always wanted to see what the claret addidas stripes would look like on our kit. (and for the purposes of your experiment Imarsha, the 3 stripes is the part i like the most, so removing them takes away the 'like'). :winkold:

    Great player, does work that folks on here don't appreciate, including rarely giving away possession....a massive issue for us at the moment.

    We were outplayed for most of the game today. Cabaye for Newcastle was superb....4m looks like a bargain. But.....if Bent scores, and he should have, we go on to win this. We will get better, but we need to start taking advantage of our favorable draw...

    Tim Cahill has done some serious air miles over the last week and a half....flew to Australia for WC qualifier here in brisbane, played 80mins I think? Then flew to Saudi Arabia, and trained in 40deg+ heat for a few days, before being dropped for the game (he came on with 5 minutes left, game already won by Australia), and I expect flew back to the UK yesterday. I suspect that Moyes will leave him on the bench, which would be good for us. Villa 3-1, Gabby to play as lone striker and score all 3. (!)

    I watched Hall Pass the other day. Not a great movie, but Owen Wilson's 'love interest' made me proud to be an Australian. do yourself a favour and Google Nicky Whelan.

    Wow...the polarity of opinions always amazes me! Petrov 'having a mare' would be considered harsh by his biggest critics. I though he was very good, as was Makoun. I think we lacked some natural width (insert lame gag here), with 2 unnatural 'wide players' on the flanks. Alby and N'Zog will fix this if we choose to play that sort of game. But i think AM's tactics were spot on...we outplayed Blackburn through a possession game, and should have won easily. On another note, it was brilliant to watch a game in 'prime time' (8pm) rather than 2am.

    ...and it farking shits me that Liverpool 'supporters' don't even appreciate Downing....I've read posts like.."too much, poor player" and "it's all man city's fault" and "good squad player only". rocket polishers. MEanwhile, we have lost a valuable asset, who was adored by most, started every week etc. I hate football sometimes, and Downing is a prick for making me (and millions of others) feel like that.

    Aussie girl Elise Perry scored a peach of a goal against Sweden in the 1/4 final... Spider Killer Interestingly, she also represents Australia at women's cricket (fast bowler), and is only about 20 from memory? some athlete and a good sort too....

    I think Woodgate is a great player. Still the best performance by any opposition player I have ever seen at Villa Park was by Woodgate in his Newcastle days. I predict he will be man of the match in both games he manages for Stoke next season. brilliant post
