Hi General I can honestly say that I appreciate your time on these boards, and the site has been the better for your presence. I'm sure that there are plenty who have had an issue or gripe resolved following a quick post on this site. What people don't often equate is the time taken to post VS the time taken to resolve, but that is another issue entirely... Anyway, regarding the kit (surprise!!). I am disappointed....obviously. But it is clearly out of the club's control, and I suspect the outrage from a shoddy product would have far exceeded the outrage we are currently experiencing. I will still buy the kit, and I will still wear it with pride, regardless of when it changes. This is a situation where the fans can help the club, and I for one am happy to do it. Cheers, BJ.

If it is Houllier, then I prepared to give him a chance. I think we all should. We are a different club to Liverpool, and I think that he deserves a chance to show that he can do the business with a club that doesn't have its head up its arse. If it's not Houllier, please can it be someone outrageously off the radar, like Cryuff, Dechamps or Hiddink. Just to give us some positive media coverage!!

How many times do the mods have to say this thread is for genuine comments and questions for the General, not digs at other posters? If people want to say something that you consider utter drivel, that's up to them, not you. The General is big enough and old enough to filter the crap himself.

As posted previously, I found the new Villa top here in Brisbane Australia about a month ago without the sponsor on it. In a huge retail chain called Rebel Sports.

Not sure if anyone else has come across this, but I found some new Villa shirts in Rebel Sport today here in Brisbane Australia. The unusual thing was that the shirts did not have any sponsor on them. I couldn't decide whether it looked good or bad? They were surprisingly made in Sri Lanka, cost was $139 australian dollars (about 70 pounds).

I agree he'd be a good signing, i bet he's on stupid money at Chelsea though. Shame KP Boateng crocked him the other day, because he's angry at the Germans. He's a free agent this summer, unless he signs a new contract with Chelsea. I think he wants to stay though and they'll probably offer him a new deal. I can see Ballack returning to Germany for one final pay day - probably back to Bayern. you are probably right....the world cup will influence what many players of his vintage will do...maybe the General can influence him with one of his war speeches....oh...oops! OK, I realise that he is a cheating, dirty bad sport, but I would love Villa to sign Michael Ballack. Yes he is a right tool, but his presence and ability to dominate midfield, as well as score the odd goal, would be brilliant for our midfield.

Congrats TBA. My wife gave birth to our 2nd child, a daughter we called Ivy, on Anzac Day....which in Australia is a public holiday every year. She's going to be loving that.

Be good for Davies to stay, but we have 3 quality central defender (Dunne, Collins, Cuellar) + the reserves Clark, Lowry etc. NRC - good player, but would be better suited to a battling mid-table team where he would really shine. We could recoup a good part of his original fee, but certainly not all! Luke Young has to stay...!

I've been saying that for years. If you give a penalty against Manchester United/Chelsea/Liverpool then its repeated every 15 minutes on Sky Sports News every day for three days. Dont give it, and it gets whined about for a few hours on the internet. It's no wonder they dont want any part of the trial by media. Yep, the refs are frightened of the negative media attention that the Ferguson's and Wengers of the world put on them. No-one gives a toss if Mick McCarthy, Martinez or even MON for that matter get a shit decision and have a moan about it. But if the 'big 4' get one.....spineless c-hunts who continue to get away with it. it happens too often to be coincedental. I wonder what that toss-bag 3 card trick tool Poll says about the decisions in his column....

Somebody better than O'Neill. Which gives us quite a few people to choose from. Can't wait to see your hit list, hope it is a realistic one.
