He's clearly being brought in as a reserve - makes sense to replace Given with someone a lot cheaper.

He's good backup. I don't think he'll be more than a good Championship keeper if first team but that's all we really need anyway as a 2nd.

Let's not get into revisionism now. or This one. He's going there as a player, possibly as a player-coach - that's the difference. He's not writing off anywhere near as much as he would if became simply a coach with us.

Looks to me like he's letting his keeping do the talking and busting his arse to get the number one spot back, which is exactly the right attitude and why a lot of fans really like him.

Guzan with Steer as back-up is fine IMO. Given leaving is a blessing - 60k a week we can put towards someone who'll actually make a difference.

He's the only LB at the club I trust to do his job but I think being a rotation player is not enough for him. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go because we're clearly looking for a full back who can attack well and he doesn't fit the bill.

Yeah - those two would be amazing coups for us. Amavi had the highest rating in Europe at LB on whoscored, which is especially impressive considering his age.

I'd bin off Bennett and Luna. Could get about 3mil combined for the pair of them that could go toward some of these players we're trying to get.

I think he's back-up in case we don't get Praet.

He could be lining up in a midfield of himself, Gueye and Praet next season. Awesome - he deserves to be playing with a better standard of midfielder than say, Westwood.

I don't think we'll get Amavi now. I also think Benteke'll go. Even so, Gueye and Praet would make a massive difference to our midfield.

They don't really have much to offer us in terms of their squad players, which says more about them than it does about us. If Benteke is still here on Monday, I'll be surprised - looking pretty terminal now.
