Sounds like you're agreeing with me
  2. That comes down to stupid individuals rather than football rivalries though. Besides I already said I understand Birmingham Citys hatred for us. Its our hatred for them that I don't understand.
  3. Sorry but look at Liverpool / Everton, theyve been in the same division ever since I got into football. Same with Tottenham / Arsenal. Cletic / Rangers has always been massive, only a slight lapse due to Rangers having to come through the divisions again. Im sure WBA Wolves have played each other a lot more, usually similar in quality albeit usually in the 2nd tier in the last 35 years. Much like the Sheffield derbies and Forest v Derby I just think for a proper rivalry you need to be of a similar ilk where the neutral can watch and enjoy not knowing who would win. Blues I see just as an annoying neighbour we occasionally play and normally beat rather than a great footballing rivalry. If I had a wish where I could remove one club from existence I don't think blues would even make the top10 list.

Whilst we have 3 tall centre backs who win a lot of headers, it's bloody annoying the likes of Newcastle score so many from set pieces but we haven't scored one header from defence all season. I like Konsa but he needs to improve in the air
  5. When he came back from injury last season he was like a man possessed. Let's hope for the same again!
  6. Apparently there's less pressure and the game means less according to some
  7. No chance, you lose a league game and you have another 37 to rectify it. Lose a cup semi and you're out. I'd say its the opposite, especially for a semi final
  8. Sorry but I just don't get it all, especially when the media try to make it out as if we have one of the biggest rivalries in football. Since I've got into football in '87 we must have played them like 10 times in almost 40 years because they are usually a few divisions lower
  9. I've never understood why Villa fans hate them so much, I can see it the other way around where they've been living in our shadow in their entire existence and have deep jealousy issues. I much prefer Blues to the likes of Man Utd & Liverpool
  10. Is there any need for this yet? We don't even know which division we will be in
  11. I'll say it quietly but that could be us next season then!

    Villa Podcasts

The Villa View was class, But really you can still catch most of the guys on other podcasts. Dan Rowlinson runs the Claret & Blue podcast, Dan Bardell has started a new one "1874" with Greg Evans. James Rushton was on 7500 to the Holte, but has just left it but its still a good listen. 2 more I listen to are My Old Man Said (which is on par with TVV in terms of quality but too much swearing for my liking) and also Under A Gaslit Lamp. Damn I just realised with all the other podcasts I listen to, I actually spend more hours on audio media than visual media!
  13. Trouble with Goalkeepers, its so difficult to for them to gain experience. Top teams wont trust goalkeepers until they have decent experience. Which is probably why we see late developers. You always hear pundits saying keepers arent ready until they are 25 or older, but this is because they don't get a chance due to keepers playing on close to their 40s when most other positions early 30s is when the downwards spiral begins. Even us, we had 2 keepers in their mid to late 20s but we decided to get a close to aged 40 Reina in instead. Young players at big clubs get hyped, so it makes it easier for the likes of Scott Carson and Sam Johnstone to become first choice at clubs like Villa, when in reality better keepers were already on the books in both cases.
  14. @sne why have you put an asterix next to Grealish, Hourihane and Konsa?
  15. That article was 23rd Jan, you do know he moved there and scored 2 on his debut right?
  16. Eh. Whats going on? Weathers not that bad is it??
  17. So why did you initially quote me then? I clearly stated he wouldn't be illegible as an under 21 player and would have to be registered as one of the 25 in the Premier League squad. Anyway, I think he could do a job in the Championship should we go down
  18. Nope it's under 21s "..as well as an additional list of each club's registered Under-21 players who are eligible over and above the squad limit of 25 players." read more about it here
  19. I think any new deal will be dependant on which league we are in next season. I say this because he turns 22 next year so won't be illegible as an U21s player, meaning if we decide to keep him he would be taking up one of the 25 squad places. Of course the Championship has no such rule
  20. Wow, and we thought Hogan looked excited to join Blues Why is his nickname JJ? Darren Moore kept calling him it in his post match interview
  21. The way we are going, we might even need him next season
  22. I don't think our team is far off, I think it's just unfortunate that every team in the Premier League is very good this season, usually theres 3 or 4 very poor sides. Even Norwich who are rock bottom are only 7 points from safety and playing some good football. If we do go down I hope we don't think we need to start again. Newcastle came down with us last time but they stuck to their guns and came back at the first attempt sitting comfortably at the top of the table most of the campaign. Whereas we just sold everyone we could and replaced them with mercenaries, there is not a single player left that we bought that first summer when we got relegated now that Kodjia and Chester have gone, there was far too much turnover of players. This young squad should be kept together and we'll be stronger for it.
  23. Nearly all of our points have come from teams in and around us. We've only taken 4 points from teams in the top half all season (win v Everton and draw v Man Utd)
