  1. Irreplaceable. Loves Villa so much he tailored his celebration to fit in with VT's love of fish puns. Legend
  2. Our defence has a blind spot when it comes to a big man at the back of the box. Happened a few times yesterday and also against forest. Need to sort that out asap. However I get comfort that if it's obvious enough that I'm aware of it then unai will already be on the case
  3. Whatever helps us best financially to keep this squad together. I bloody love this bunch!
  4. What do I do with all my old cd's, dvd's, videos and minidiscs(you heard!)? I can access all of these collections digitally so they just take up space in the attic I cant bear to tip them into a skip, am far too lazy to try to sell them at like 5p a pop, and am uncertain that local charity shop would even want them as a donation
  5. im getting nervous sitting here even thinking about having to go to a penalty shootout. genuinely think id have to leave the room if this happened anytime soon. in saying that lets get Ollie back on pens. theres no physical or technical reason why he shouldnt be able to clearing in the woods one in from the spot. Plus he is peaking and looking at his most confident than ive ever seen him on the pitch
  6. Newcastle really have done us no favours over the past couple months!
  7. Aston villa would argue that London teams are piss easy to play against!
  8. Hope we get the best 3 teams remaining over the next 3 rounds so we can have a nice enjoyable chilled final
  9. they are always trying to introduce a motorsport which determines the best driver by keeping all other variables constant and I think that should be the same with football managers. hear me out... at the start of the summer we line up the 20 premier league managers on one side of wembley, and the 500 or so registered premier league players on the other side. Then, much akin to playground or PE football, each managers takes turn to pick a player until the last player is picked (couch, callum chambers cough) they then take their squad, have 10 weeks to train them up and then we go Emery wins the league for Villa guaranteed
  10. Adama traore versus emi Martinez is the least nervous I've ever been for a one-on-one
  11. 1. I still have a soft spot for Gabby. Every Villa fan I know hates him, and I know he's a dumbass and downed tools on us. But to be honest it was a pretty crappy time for everyone involved with Villa and when he was on it he was a very exciting player to watch. Also, he scored butt loads of goals for us despite his technical limitations 2. a bit similar to the poster above - I defend Emery to the hilt when anyone makes fun of him for his accent - calling them racist and all sorts!, but........... I dont understand a damn thing he says and have to watch his interviews a couple of times just to get the gist of them!!
  12. didnt we pay around £50m for Diaby?. Think id rather have Jack for that money tbh but I may be biased as JG still remains one of my favourite ever players
  13. Big shout. I reckon all three of those are possibly more effective and proven but Leon is so goddamn fun to watch right now
  14. really starting to regret using the word agenda in my original post but really what is the point in having a 20 team league when the ultimate prize isnt viably winnable by a team sitting joint third with 15 games to play? Just take the biggest 4 teams in the land and let them scrap it out Oh and according to TNT Sports on Twitter today "Arsenal are unbeaten against the big six in the Premier League this season" citing City, Liverpool, Man Utd, Spurs and Chelsea. Factually correct but frustrating unimportant as they seem to have included a mid table and upper mid table team in that stat
  15. Poch is on borrowed time so he has no reason not to go full strength here. we have to do likewise
  16. meh you are probably right (and I do love a good outlandish conspiracy theory!) but I think the wording of it is so deliberate so as to scoff at the idea of Villa being worthy of being in the conversation
  17. Main article on the BBC website: "Arsenal place themselves at heart of three way title race" by Phil McNulty I mean I get it - Villa probably aren't gonna win the league. I'm realistic enough to know this. But the utter disrespect shown by that sentence is unreal. Villa have the same number of points as one of those teams, within 3 of second place and 5 of first! Form over the last 12 months as good as anyone It's stuff like this that means we simply have to keep winning games cos it so clearly messes with the media agenda and they hate it.
  18. I mean, that thing at spurs was mental wasnt it? how on earth was he not cancelled out of orbit, let alone go on to have a gainful post playing career!
  19. he be useful cos he can play Home and Away damn, top of the page. was kinda hoping this terrible post would be buried mid to lower page if im honest...
  20. Thought he was looking a bit scrawny in the first season
  21. equalling £60m according to sky sports maths
  22. Caveat that Newcastle did score a goal in 16/17 but it was an OG 2022/23 lost 0-3 2021/22 lost 0-2 2020/21 lost 0-2 2019/20 lost 0-2 2016/17 drew 1-1 og (Elphick) (Ch) 2015/16 drew 0-0 2014/15 drew 0-0 2013/14 won 2-1 Ben Arfa, Gouffran (also lifted from Toon forum)
  23. The last Newcastle player to score at Villa Park? Gouffran, September 2013!. (lifted from Toon forum)
